154: When you are away from home, your identity is given by yourself.

As Cheng Zhen pondered the situation, the others had already warily jumped aside, afraid that someone might suddenly stab them.

Due to the vague nature of the clear-out mission, they couldn't determine if this dungeon was cooperative or competitive.

Just like Cheng Zhen's mission, he only knew that the dungeon wanted him to 'help Twitch,' but there were absolutely no clues about who Twitch was, where Twitch was, or how to help him.

It was likely the same for the others. Moreover, if the dungeon contained competitive elements, it was possible that others' missions might involve 'stopping Twitch' or 'eliminating Twitch.'

Therefore, after the leader's questioning just now, everyone's vigilance towards each other had risen, and they tried to find Raiders from the same faction by asking about their missions.

Cheng Zhen didn't plan to be the first to speak up. What if, by bad luck, the other four people's missions were to 'slaughter Twitch'? Wouldn't he just be a target if he jumped out first?

The others had similar thoughts; after asking their questions, they remained silent, and the scene fell into an awkward silence.

"Three of you, please calm down."

After a long while, the woman from the couple spoke first. She pointed to the person beside her and said, "He and I checked our missions from the start; they are the same."

"While there's a possibility of mission conflict, it's not absolute."

She turned her head slightly, looking at the tall man, "Just as that gentleman said, all five of us entered the room at the same time. If someone did something, the others wouldn't fail to see it."

"But what you're saying is just information you two discussed privately. What if you're lying?"

Although he was agreed with, the tall man didn't buy it. Instead, he became even more wary, worried that the two of them were ganging up to trick him.

The man in the couple spoke with some helplessness: "If our missions weren't the same, we would have noticed something was off from the very beginning. Why would we wait until that NPC discovered the problem and came to settle accounts with all of us?"

There was indeed some truth to what he said, but who knew if these two would stage a lovers' quarrel?

Although the tall man suspected this, he didn't say it outright, not wanting to provoke the two into directly dealing with him.

So, he turned his gaze to Cheng Zhen and the other Raiders who hadn't spoken.

In his opinion, if that couple teamed up, then the three of them joining forces to resist wouldn't be a disadvantage.

Receiving the signal, Cheng Zhen didn't plan to form an alliance at this time. After all, the situation wasn't clear yet, and there was no need to cause a split now.

Cheng Zhen looked at the last Raiders, who was standing far away. He seemed to be a quiet fellow; he hadn't opened his mouth to speak since the dungeon started, making one wonder if he was mute.

Therefore, Cheng Zhen could only state his position himself: "I think what these two are saying makes sense. Our missions aren't necessarily in conflict, for two reasons."

"First, we've only been in the dungeon for a very short time. As soon as we entered, we were caught by the NPC and taken to do hard labor."

"At this point, everyone is in an exploratory phase, busy gathering information and completing missions."

"Even if someone's mission really is to cause trouble... everyone here is experienced, so cautious people should be the majority. It's unlikely that someone would recklessly cause trouble at the start without considering anything, right?"

Even if you're playing Werewolf, you can't reveal yourself as a wolf at the start. It's only logical to hide in the shadows and act!

"If I'm not mistaken, all of our missions should be related to that 'Twitch,' right?"

Although he couldn't see the others' expressions clearly, from their subconscious body language, Cheng Zhen felt he had guessed correctly.

"You're simply worried that some people have opposing goals, but that should only come into play after 'Twitch' is found, and then actions should begin."

Causing trouble now isn't just acting before anything is set in stone; it's like Zhu Yuanzhang being surrounded by a hundred thousand imperial troops as soon as he steps out to beg with a broken bowl.

"Second, there are ten participants in the dungeon, and we are only five here. If our missions are the same, and the other five have conflicting missions with us, wouldn't our infighting now be a joke?"

"Additionally, according to that leader, all five of us are 'newcomers.' Judging by the proficiency of the other NPCs, they are already very experienced veterans."

"The dungeon wouldn't arrange so many people for no reason. If there are troublemaking moles among them, their success rate would definitely be higher than ours."

Cheng Zhen's words were well-reasoned, slightly easing the tension in the atmosphere.

"This gentleman makes a lot of sense."

The woman from the couple nodded in agreement, "I suggest we first continue following the NPCs to do missions and investigate the situation. If we discover that the previous situation was caused by an NPC mole, or if the other five people take targeted actions against us, then it's highly probable that our five missions are the same."

The tall man did not refute this time, seemingly acknowledging Cheng Zhen's words.

"What are your names, everyone?"

The man in the couple was probably good-natured. Seeing that everyone had no intention of continuing their confrontation, he began to introduce himself: "Everyone can call me Rui Jun, and this is my girlfriend, Xiao Tong. After all, we'll still be doing missions together, so we can't just keep calling each other 'hey, hey, hey,' can we?"

"My skill is investigative, and Xiao Tong's skill can clear one negative status. Both should be useful in this dungeon."

Xiao Tong sighed almost imperceptibly, seemingly helpless about her boyfriend's honesty.

The tall man then said, "Just call me Dashan. My skill is combat-oriented."

Cheng Zhen smiled: "Call me Old Xu. My skill is summoning Black Cleaver Axe."

When out and about, one's identity is self-proclaimed.

(Old Xu: ? No, where's my Black Cleaver Axe?)

Everyone just assumed Cheng Zhen's skill could provide weapons and didn't react much to it.

After all, everyone had their preferred weapons equipped in their gear slots, so they didn't have much need for an axe.

However, these veterans wouldn't jump out like cannon fodder and shout, 'Your useless skill is completely ineffective,' because no one knew when a teammate's miraculous skill might come into play.

They focused their gaze on the last quiet Raiders.

"A Dong."

The person pointed to himself, "Defense-type skill."

His voice was a bit soft; if the others hadn't had good hearing, they might not have heard him clearly.

Perhaps he's an introvert? Cheng Zhen guessed.

The five no longer wasted time and followed the direction the NPCs had left, continuing to gather dungeon intelligence, hoping to quickly figure out who that 'Twitch' really was.

They pushed open the door, fully expecting that after the unforgettable scene they had just experienced, nothing else would faze them, but this time, they couldn't hold back their shock again.

"!!!"

Xiao Tong almost ground her molars to dust to keep from screaming, but she couldn't control her hand and clutched her boyfriend's arm tightly, squeezing Rui Jun so hard he nearly jumped.

Outside were cockroaches, and inside the room were boxes upon boxes of rats.

Can this trashy dungeon get any better?!
