46: Chapter 46 The Ice and Fire Dragon King (Part 1)
On the morning of the third day, Bai Qi was sitting cross-legged by the spring when a series of footsteps echoed from the valley entrance.
Dugu Bo walked into the valley alone, his steps much lighter than the previous two days.
Bai Qi sat as if Dugu Bo were not an outsider, saying,
"Old freak, so early?"
Dugu Bo waved his hand dismissively, walked up to him, took a porcelain bottle from his Huai, and handed it to him, saying,
"These are some detoxification pills I've saved over the years. Although they can't compare to the medicine you concoct, they're enough for ordinary poisons. Keep them; you might need them when you leave this poison array later."
Bai Qi stood up, took the porcelain bottle, shook it at Dugu Bo, and said,
"Thank you, Old freak."
Dugu Bo glanced at him again, hesitated, but finally just patted his shoulder, turned, and walked out of the valley.
"I have something to attend to; I'll be back in a few days. Little freak, feel free to use the medicinal herbs here."
Before his voice faded, his figure had already vanished into the mist.
After Bai Qi put away the porcelain bottle, he watched him leave.
Once Dugu Bo was gone, Bai Qi turned and walked to the spring, looking at the Immortal Grade medicinal herb, Oblivion Autumn Water Dew, with dew drops hanging on it.
After plucking this Oblivion Autumn Water Dew, he drank all the dew drops on it.
After drinking, Bai Qi immediately sat cross-legged, feeling a comfortable coolness in his eyes. Then, it was as if something had been activated. He opened his eyes, used his Purple Demon Eye, and his eyes glowed faintly purple.
The World in his vision instantly changed. He even saw Dugu Bo, who hadn't gone far. Dugu Bo seemed to sense someone watching him, even turning his head to look, but with the poisonous miasma obstructing his view, he found nothing, scratched his head, and continued walking.
Seeing this, Bai Qi couldn't help but smile. Purple Demon Eye, Mustard Seed Realm, success.
At the same time, his Mental Energy greatly increased, and his perception range expanded to the entire valley.
Bai Qi stood up with a smirk, glanced at Liu Erlong, who had woken up and was watering flowers by the tent, then looked at the sky. Good, it was still early.
"Time to go down."
Thinking this, Bai Qi walked to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, took a deep breath, and leaped into the spring water.
The red and blue water instantly engulfed him. There was no burning or freezing sensation, only a warm, enveloping feeling.
He kept diving. The deeper he went, the darker the light, but the surrounding pressure did not increase. After an unknown amount of time, Bai Qi's feet finally touched the bottom.
Underfoot was hard rock, covered with a layer of fine gravel, giving a solid feeling when stepped on.
Bai Qi steadied himself and looked around with his Purple Demon Eye.
After Bai Qi clearly saw the surroundings,
Two colossal corpses lay there quietly, at the location of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well's spring eyes, continuously emitting Soul Power.
One was entirely crimson, its dragon scales still glowing faintly with fire, as if it had just fallen asleep and its body temperature had not yet dissipated.
Each scale was crystal clear, and even with closed eyes, their former majesty could not be concealed.
The other was entirely ice-blue, covered in a thin layer of frost, reflecting a chilling luster under the blue light.
These were the Ice Dragon King and the Fire Dragon King, lying quietly at the bottom of the water, never decaying, never reawakening, as if merely dreaming a very long dream.
As Bai Qi quietly observed these two dragons, he was about to sign in.
Just then, the Dragon God Seal on his forehead suddenly lit up automatically.
Colorful light spread from his forehead, as if awakened by some power, diffusing in circles in the water, finally striking the bodies of the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings.
Bai Qi's pupils contracted, clearly startled by this scene. After all, he was just here to sign in, and he hadn't expected the Dragon God Seal to react here.
Just as he was about to reach out and touch the mark on his forehead, two phantoms emerged from the dragon bodies, one red and one blue, gradually condensing into two slender figures.
The red phantom was tall and slender, with fiery red long hair flowing in the water, like burning flames.
Her face was exquisitely beautiful with a hint of heroism, and her brows held an imposing aura even without anger. Even as a mere soul, one could feel her power.
She wore a long dress made of condensed flames, its hem gently swaying in the current, as if alive.
The blue phantom had silver hair like a waterfall, skin like snow, and a cold yet noble demeanor.
Her features were as delicate as carved ice and jade, her gaze sharp but with a hint of imperceptible tenderness.
She wore an ice-blue long robe, its corners adorned with fine ice crystals, reflecting a rainbow halo under the light.
"The aura of the Dragon God?"
The Fire Dragon King spoke in confusion, her voice clear and majestic, echoing at the bottom of the water.
"How many years has it been? Something actually managed to awaken us?"
The Ice Dragon King gazed at Bai Qi, her voice as crisp as an icy spring, each word like an ice pearl falling onto a jade plate.
"A human? The Dragon God's aura actually appears on a human?"
Bai Qi looked at them, steadied his mind, and said to the two,
"I am Bai Qi, a successor of the Dragon God. Esteemed seniors, I wish to break the Divine Realm's prohibition on Spirit Beasts, allowing Spirit Beasts to once again qualify for becoming Divinities."
The Fire Dragon King and Ice Dragon King exchanged glances, a hint of shock flashing in their eyes.
The Fire Dragon King said with some disdain,
"A Dragon God successor? Only at Rank 60 and you want to break the Divine Realm's prohibition? Do you know how many Divinities there are in the Divine Realm?"
Listening to the Fire Dragon King's question, Bai Qi didn't answer, because he didn't know.
The Ice Dragon King, seeing Bai Qi's lack of response, also said indifferently,
"Human, what makes us believe you? How could the Dragon God's legacy fall upon a Rank 60 brat?"
Bai Qi didn't refute this but explained,
"Esteemed seniors, Spirit Beasts and I are different. With my talent, I am among the top tier of humans, and I also have a God Position inheritance."
At this point, Bai Qi paused, then continued,
"It can even be said that with my current strength, as long as I steadily improve, becoming the Dragon God is a foregone conclusion."
The Fire Dragon King and Ice Dragon King exchanged glances. After a moment, the disdain in their eyes lessened.
The Fire Dragon King snorted and said,
"You do have something. But that's not enough. What makes you think you can succeed?"
Bai Qi just smiled and said,
"For now, it's because I am the Dragon God's successor. I wonder if this explanation satisfies you, seniors."
The Ice Dragon King was silent for a moment, then nodded slightly and said,
"You're a bold kid. Fine, we'll believe you this once. We have nowhere else to go anyway."
The Fire Dragon King also waved her hand.
"Then let's see. Don't disappoint us."
The Ice Dragon King was silent for a moment, then said indifferently,
"We were actually close to winning back then, but due to the Dragon God's inherent elemental conflict, he suddenly lost control. They took the opportunity to counterattack, and that's how we were ultimately killed by them."
Her voice was calm, but Bai Qi could hear the suppressed hatred within it.
The Fire Dragon King sneered, a spark of fire flashing in her eyes.
"In that battle, the Divine Realm dispatched over a dozen Divinities, besieging, ambushing, using every despicable trick. We fought with all our might and ultimately died in battle. Our bodies fell out of the Divine Realm, plunged into the Douluo Continent, and landed in this forest."
Bai Qi was somewhat shocked. Although he knew this part of history, he didn't understand why the Dragon God would say that Spirit Beasts were forbidden from becoming Divinities, so he asked,
"Then, what about the Dragon God? And why are Spirit Beasts forbidden from becoming Divinities?"
The Ice Dragon King said, "When the Dragon God lost control, he was defeated by the five Great God Kings of the Divine Realm. After regaining consciousness, his Divine Soul was split by a sword from the Asura God, turning into the Golden Dragon King and the Silver Dragon King. The Golden Dragon King was arrested on the spot, but the Silver Dragon King entered the spatial-temporal Turbulence, and it's unknown where she is now."

The Golden Dragon King was arrested on the spot, but the Silver Dragon King entered the spatial-temporal Turbulence, and it's unknown where she is now."
The Fire Dragon King also said,
"As for why Spirit Beasts are forbidden from becoming Divinities, it's simple. Because if Spirit Beasts become Divinities, the living space of Beast Divinities would be compressed by human Divinities. The Dragon God at the time didn't want to be suppressed by human Divinities, which is why he led the Beast Divinities in resistance."
"The result, as you know, was the Dragon God's defeat. Before his Divine Soul was split by the Asura God's sword, he regained consciousness and declared that Spirit Beasts could not become Divinities, and only after another Dragon God appeared could they become Divinities. The purpose of this was out of fear that without his presence, those Spirit Beasts who became Divinities would be oppressed, or even killed."
"And the Divine Realm, fearing the emergence of another Dragon God, simply enforced the Dragon God's words, prohibiting Spirit Beasts from becoming Divinities, as they wouldn't believe another Dragon God would appear."
"Of course, the drawback is that once a Dragon God appears, this command issued by the Divine Realm will automatically be lifted."
