62: Chapter 62 Returning to Blue Tyrant Academy (Part 1)
As Bai Qi was drinking tea and watching the starry sky, a flurry of footsteps came from behind his chair. The sound was very light, as if afraid of disturbing him.
When the person reached him and stood behind his chair, they spoke softly.
"It's so late, and you're still not in your room sleeping?"
Bai Qi didn't look back. Smiling, he simply took another chair out of his storage ring, placed it to the side, patted it, and said,
"Sister Yin, you aren't asleep either. Come, let's have a drink together."
Ah Yin walked over upon hearing this, and Bai Qi conveniently poured a cup of tea for her as well.
She wore a cyan long dress with her long hair draped over her shoulders. After she sat down, the moonlight shone on her face, making her look exceptionally beautiful.
Holding the tea Bai Qi had poured for her, she blew on it slightly, took a small sip, then cradled the teacup and spoke slowly.
"I couldn't sleep, so I came out for a walk. What about you?"
Bai Qi placed his hands behind his head, shifted into a comfortable position, and said,
"Same as you, Sister Yin. I couldn't sleep."
Seeing Bai Qi's relaxed manner, she smiled and said,
"So, what is Lanba Academy like? Xiao Qi, why don't you introduce it to me."
Upon hearing this, Bai Qi subconsciously rolled his eyes upward, thought for a moment, and gave an introduction.
"It's alright. I've only been there for a few days and only know a few people. The Dean is called Liu Erlong; she's a good person, though her temper... she's very good to her own people. Then there's the Old freak, Dugu Bo, who is a Titled Douluo; he's the same, decent enough to his own. There's also Dugu Yan, Dugu Bo's granddaughter, who has a tsundere personality. Finally, there's Ye Lingling, who doesn't like to talk much."
After speaking, Bai Qi added in his heart that although three of them were people he had dragged over himself.
Ah Yin listened with a smile and said,
"That's good then."
Bai Qi turned his head to look at Ah Yin and said,
"It's fine, I'm here."
The smile on Ah Yin's face deepened as she looked at Bai Qi.
But Bai Qi had already turned his head back, pillowed his head on his arms, and closed his eyes.
A night breeze brushed past, and the two enjoyed the silence for a while.
Suddenly, Bai Qi spoke.
"Sister Yin."
"Hmm? What is it?"
Ah Yin responded upon hearing Bai Qi call her name, but there was no reply, only the sound of breathing, so she turned her head.
She saw that Bai Qi had already fallen asleep.
She waved her hand in front of Bai Qi's face to confirm he was truly asleep.
She stood up, preparing to go back to the room to get a blanket for Bai Qi.
Just as she took two steps toward the house.
A voice came from behind her again.
"I love you!"
Hearing this, Ah Yin's footsteps paused, then she chuckled, shook her head, and continued into the house to get the blanket for Bai Qi.
About five minutes later, Ah Yin walked over carrying a blanket. Since it was quite chilly tonight, Ah Yin had also draped a coat over herself.
She walked to Bai Qi's side and gently covered him.
She stood there, quietly staring at Bai Qi, as if trying to determine if the youth before her was truly asleep.
After watching for a while, Bai Qi still didn't move.
Only then did Ah Yin take a deep breath, and with a blushing face, she leaned down and kissed Bai Qi on the cheek. After the kiss, she whispered in Bai Qi's ear.
"Xiao Qi, I love you too. Goodnight."
Then Ah Yin straightened up, raised her hand to rub her blushing face, looked around, and then jogged away back to her room.
This entire scene was witnessed by someone hiding behind a tree not far away.
She watched Ah Yin leave with clenched fists, then slowly walked toward Bai Qi. She knew that when Bai Qi fell asleep, he slept quite soundly, so she was rather bold as she approached him.
After reaching Bai Qi's side, she steadied herself, slowly crouched down, took Bai Qi's hand and pressed it against her face. After feeling it, she also jogged away from the spot.
The next morning, Bai Qi woke up.
He opened his eyes, rubbed them, and looked at Ah Yin sitting beside him, saying,
"Good morning, Sister Yin."
Seeing Bai Qi awake, Ah Yin, who was sitting nearby, replied,
"Good morning, Xiao Qi."
Bai Qi sat up and said,
"Xiao Wu isn't up yet?"
Ah Yin smiled helplessly.
"Not yet. I'll go call her."
But Bai Qi said with a smile,
"No need, Sister Yin. I'll go."
After saying that, he got up, walked to Xiao Wu's door, and knocked.
"Xiao Wu, time to get up."
A rustling sound came from inside the room, followed by Xiao Wu's groggy voice.
"I know, I know..."
After a while, the door opened. Xiao Wu's eyes were still half-closed, and her hair was a mess. Looking at Bai Qi, she grumbled dissatisfiedly.
"Why get up so early..."
Suppressing a laugh, Bai Qi reached out and pinched Xiao Wu's cheek, saying,
"It's not early. Hurry up and get ready. After breakfast, we're preparing to leave."
"Oh~"
Xiao Wu gave a response and then closed the door to go back and change.
Bai Qi then went to knock on Ning Rongrong's door. Ning Rongrong was already up and was combing her hair.
Zhu Zhuqing was also in her room, sitting quietly by the window with her bundle already packed on her back.
"Morning."
Seeing Bai Qi, Zhu Zhuqing spoke softly, though her eyes occasionally darted elsewhere, looking somewhat guilty.
However, Bai Qi didn't pay it much mind. He nodded and said,
"Morning. Once you're ready, head to the courtyard to assemble."
After finishing her hair, Ning Rongrong said,
"Okay."
Bai Qi smiled and then withdrew.
After Bai Qi left, Ning Rongrong put down her comb and pulled Zhu Zhuqing along to the front courtyard.
When Bai Qi returned to the courtyard, he found that Meng Yiran had already arrived.
After another half an hour, everyone had arrived.
Only Xiao Wu's eyes were still half-closed as she was led along by Bai Qi. Ah Yin walked on Bai Qi's other side.
Meng Yiran, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing followed behind.
At the entrance of the Sect, Ning Fengzhi was already waiting, followed by the Sword Douluo, Chen Xin.
Seeing that everyone had arrived, Ning Fengzhi smiled slightly. His gaze swept over everyone before finally landing on Bai Qi.
Ning Rongrong ran over to hug Ning Fengzhi and whispered a few words in his ear.
Ning Fengzhi smiled and patted her shoulder, whispering something back. Ning Rongrong nodded, let go, and stepped back.
"Xiao Qi."
Ning Fengzhi said, looking at Bai Qi.
Bai Qi also nodded and said,
"Uncle Ning."
Ning Fengzhi nodded and didn't say much else, only offering an instruction.
"Take good care of Rongrong."
Bai Qi replied with a smile,
"Don't worry, Uncle Ning."
Hearing this, Ning Fengzhi said nothing more and stepped aside to let them pass.
The group walked down the mountain path. After walking for a while, Xiao Wu finally woke up completely and asked Bai Qi,
"Xiao Qi, do you think Lanba Academy has good food?"
Bai Qi said,
"It's not bad, but if you don't want to eat that, we can also cook for ourselves."
Xiao Wu was stunned for a moment.
"But I don't know how to cook."
Bai Qi patted Xiao Wu's head.
"I'll cook for you."
Ning Rongrong also pulled Zhu Zhuqing and whispered,
"Zhuqing, do you know how to cook?"
Zhu Zhuqing shook her head.
After they had walked for about an hour, the road ahead became flat.
Xiao Wu followed beside Bai Qi and asked,
"Xiao Qi, what does Lanba Academy actually look like?"
Bai Qi thought for a moment and said,
"Well, it's hard to explain in just a few words. You'll know when we get there."
Xiao Wu curled her lip upon hearing this and didn't say anything more.
The group walked and stopped along the way, having a meal at a small town they passed through at noon.
They continued their journey in the afternoon. When the sun began to tilt toward the west, they finally saw the outline of Heaven Dou City in the distance.
Bai Qi pointed in the direction of Heaven Dou City and said,
"Lanba Academy is right inside Heaven Dou City. We'll be there after walking a bit longer."
Xiao Wu was already tired from walking, and her small face immediately slumped.
"Still more walking..."
Bai Qi glanced at her and said,
"How about I carry you on my back?"
Xiao Wu's eyes darted around, and she immediately nodded.
"Okay!"
Bai Qi helplessly crouched down. Xiao Wu lay on his back, her arms around his neck and her chin resting on his shoulder, looking quite smug.
Ning Rongrong laughed behind them, and Zhu Zhuqing and Meng Yiran couldn't help but curl their lips into smiles as well.
Only Ah Yin asked with a smile,
"So, Xiao Qi, is Xiao Wu heavy?"
Bai Qi smiled and shook his head, saying,
"Not heavy."
Xiao Wu huffed.
"Sister Yin, how can you say that about me? I'm very light!"
After the group entered Heaven Dou City.
Bai Qi carried Xiao Wu with steady steps and even breathing.
Xiao Wu, lying on his back, had closed her eyes at some point and had actually fallen asleep.
Ah Yin saw this and whispered,
"Xiao Wu fell asleep."
Bai Qi gave an 'en' in response and slowed his pace.
Half an hour later, the gate of Lanba Academy finally came into view.
