Save the demon
The System expressed disdain, and since Xiao Feng had no use for this thing, he simply tossed the corpse into the System Space.
Xiao Feng released Ba Zhou from the System Space and was just about to take Ba Zhou away from this place when he suddenly heard what sounded like a cry for help coming from beneath the swamp.
"Ba Zhou, did you hear any sound?" Xiao Feng turned his head to look at Ba Zhou beside him, asking uncertainly.
Ba Zhou blinked its slightly clear yet foolish-looking big eyes, pricked up its ears, and after listening carefully, spoke in surprise: "There really is! It seems to be coming from the swamp!"
Xiao Feng took Ba Zhou back to the edge of the swamp and listened carefully; the cry for help was indeed coming from beneath the swamp.
Xiao Feng released his Divine Sense to perceive the scene beneath the swamp.
His Divine Sense "saw" a massive palace beneath the swamp, which was likely the lair of that Dragon previously mentioned.
And inside that palace, many little Yao were being held captive.
"Let's go, we're going down there." Since Xiao Feng had seen it, he certainly couldn't just stand by and watch them die.
After all, he had come here this time specifically to slay these evil, wicked Yao.
It was the perfect opportunity to let these little Yao he had saved spread the word about his actions.
Perhaps he could even gain the friendship of some powerful Yao.
Not to mention, the relatives and elders of these little Yao he saved would certainly be grateful to Xiao Feng.
Xiao Feng hesitated no longer; after wrapping Ba Zhou in his spiritual power, he took Ba Zhou directly into the swamp.
Transversing through layers of obstacles, the human and the Yao quickly arrived at the palace beneath the swamp.
Above the palace, there seemed to be a layer of Formation acting as a barrier.
No matter how the swamp above churned, it would not contaminate the palace below.
"Wow—" Ba Zhou had such a naive, inexperienced look that Xiao Feng couldn't help but cover his eyes.
The Nine-Headed Lion is not stupid, so how could it produce such a silly and cute child?
"A Senior has come!"
"This aura, it doesn't seem like a Senior from the Yao Race?"
"But he has the scent of the Dragon on him; the Dragon was killed by him!"
"Senior, please save us! Our tribes will send generous gifts to thank you, Senior!"
These little Yao were not afraid of Xiao Feng; upon seeing him, they immediately called out to him for help.
They probably felt that Xiao Feng was not a bad person and naturally wouldn't stand by and watch them die.
Xiao Feng, however, thought it might be because they were still young, and seeing a Yao Race cub following him, they immediately cried out to Xiao Feng for help.
Xiao Feng looked over and saw many half-humanoid Yao Race cubs tied up in the palace.
Xiao Feng walked over and untied all the ropes binding these cubs.
The cubs chattered as they surrounded Xiao Feng, asking about his identity and saying they would have their families thank him.
After Xiao Feng smiled and declined their kind offer, his gaze fell upon the only little girl who had not cried out for help nor gathered around him to speak.
This little girl seemed to be of the Human Race.
The reason he said "seemed" was because cubs of their age were not yet able to fully control themselves from reverting to their original forms.
All the Yao Race cubs present had more or less traces of their original forms on them.
Only this little girl had a clean aura, and Xiao Feng did not sense any obvious Yao Race Bloodline on her.
She was completely different from the Yao Race cubs of Zhou Wei.
Xiao Feng couldn't immediately determine whether she was a pure-blooded Human Race or a Yao Race whose identity he couldn't see through.
"Little sister, are you okay?"
Xiao Feng brought all these Yao Race cubs out of the Dragon's palace, and the other Yao Race cubs began chattering as they notified their elders at home to come and rescue them.
Only this little girl remained standing there blankly, her eyes empty.
Seeing that she made no move to notify her family to come and take her away, Xiao Feng couldn't help but walk to her side and ask.
"Where is your family? Won't you notify your family to come and pick you up?"
Xiao Feng's gentle voice made the little girl subconsciously turn her head to look at him.
After processing Xiao Feng's meaning for a moment, the little girl shook her head, her mouth opening and closing, but no sound came out.
The little girl's situation was quite troublesome; she couldn't speak.
Xiao Feng had no way of knowing her true identity, much less how she, with a Human Race body, could appear in the Yao Race territory, and in the central region at that.
Looking at the other Yao Race cubs, Xiao Feng decided to see the rescue through to the end.
He first sent these cubs back to their respective tribal territories.
After Xiao Feng and Ba Zhou asked each of these cubs where their tribal territories were, they sent all of them back to their respective tribal territories.
Afterward, they took the little girl back to the valley.
Xiao Feng wasn't that powerful yet; he couldn't discern the identity or origin of this little girl.
In any case, he didn't sense any malice from this little girl; she was just a child and surely couldn't be a bad person.
Xiao Feng simply decided to take her back to the valley first and use the System to investigate her situation later.
Along the way, Xiao Feng also conveniently took care of several evil Yao that were killing and eating other Yao, and then successfully returned to his familiar territory.
Ba Zhou had experienced a lot while following Xiao Feng on this journey, and its own strength had increased quite a bit.
Xiao Feng had originally intended to send Ba Zhou back to the Lion Demon territory along the way, but to his surprise, Ba Zhou insisted on returning with him.
Xiao Feng had no choice but to take Ba Zhou back to the valley.
Xiao Feng had been away for a relatively short time, and nothing unusual had happened in the valley.
When Xiao Feng returned, Zhao Yuwei was Cultivating her sword techniques.
Even the Devouring Sky Python was nearby, holding a branch and mimicking Zhao Yuwei, gesturing and waving it about.
"I'm back." Xiao Feng's voice came from the entrance of the valley, and Zhao Yuwei immediately turned her head, looking over with joy.
Seeing that it was indeed Xiao Feng who had returned, Zhao Yuwei put away the long sword in her hand and ran toward Xiao Feng, full of joy.
When she got closer, she realized that there were two cubs standing beside Xiao Feng; one was naturally Ba Zhou.
The other was a soft and cute little girl.
The movement she had intended to throw herself into Xiao Feng's arms suddenly stopped, and Zhao Yuwei curiously looked at the little girl standing next to Xiao Feng.
The little girl seemed to be a bit shy, and after realizing someone was staring at her, she immediately hid behind Xiao Feng.
"What's going on?" Zhao Yuwei walked lightly to Xiao Feng's side and asked.
Zhao Yuwei thought this little girl was exceptionally cute and looked like a Human Race child, not much like a Yao Race.
So she wanted to ask Xiao Feng where he had abducted a Human Race child from?
As Zhao Yuwei approached, the little girl seemed to be frightened by her and immediately hid herself completely behind Xiao Feng, which Zhao Yuwei found somewhat amusing.
Xiao Feng turned to look at the little girl behind him, preparing to explain Zhao Yuwei's identity.
Before he could, he heard Zhao Yuwei speak first: "Hello, little sister, my name is Zhao Yuwei. I'm not a bad person; I am the wife of this big brother who brought you back."
