Before he finished speaking, Xiao Feng had already turned into an afterimage, the sword in his hand erupting with astonishing power.
Sword light flashed, blood splattered everywhere, and in the blink of an eye, all the Demon Sect members lay in pools of blood.
Chen Xianmiao watched this shocking scene, utterly dumbfounded.
However, just as she was about to ask a question, Xiao Feng's face suddenly turned pale, his body swayed a few times, and then he fell heavily to the ground.
"Dongfang Bubai!" Chen Xianmiao exclaimed. She couldn't see, but she could rush forward based on feeling.
She carefully helped Xiao Feng up, looking at his pale face, a strange emotion welling up in her heart.
"This fool, he hasn't even recovered yet, but he still forced himself to act..."
Chen Xianmiao sighed softly, put Xiao Feng on her back, and slowly walked towards her dwelling.
Along the way, she could feel Xiao Feng's even breathing on the back of her neck, causing a strange sensation in her heart.
"He's truly an unfathomable fellow..." Chen Xianmiao murmured in a low voice, a gentle smile unconsciously curving at the corner of her mouth.
Two days passed quickly, and Xiao Feng finally woke up leisurely.
He slowly opened his eyes, looked around, and felt grateful that he was still alive. "Heh, looks like the heavens don't want to take this handsome guy yet."
He teased himself inwardly.
Xiao Feng tried to get out of bed, but unexpectedly his legs were weak, and he stumbled, falling flat on his face.
"Ow! This is going to make me look like a pig's head!" He grumbled, baring his teeth, but couldn't help laughing out loud.
Hearing the commotion, Chen Xianmiao quickly ran into the room. Realizing Xiao Feng had woken up, a glimmer of surprise flashed in her eyes, which were usually like still water.
"Xiao Feng, you're finally awake!" she said with concern, quickly stepping forward to help Xiao Feng up.
Xiao Feng grinned, feigning pain: "Ouch, Miss Xianmiao, you have to be gentle. My little body can't take this kind of rough handling!"
Chen Xianmiao couldn't help but laugh, and gently slapped him: "You talk too much! Hurry up and lie down!"
Xiao Feng blinked, teasing: "You're so concerned about me, could it be that you've fallen in love with me?"
Chen Xianmiao's face turned red, and she pretended to be angry: "If you keep talking nonsense, I'll knock you out!"
"Ah, no, no!" Xiao Feng quickly waved his hand: "My body can't handle being knocked out again!"
As the two bantered back and forth, Chen Xianmiao couldn't help herself and actually slapped Xiao Feng on the head, knocking him unconscious.
"Ah!" Chen Xianmiao exclaimed, then quickly covered her mouth.
She cautiously looked at Xiao Feng, and after confirming that he was really unconscious, her heart suddenly raced.
As if possessed, Chen Xianmiao leaned down, cupped Xiao Feng's face in her hands, and gently kissed his forehead.
Instantly, she felt her face burning like fire.
"W-what's wrong with me..." she whispered in a panic.
Just then, the sound of children came from outside the door.
Chen Xianmiao quickly tidied her clothes and walked out of the room.
It turned out to be the children from the village bringing some thank-you gifts.
"Sister Xianmiao, these are eggs from our house, please take them!" A little girl said timidly.
Chen Xianmiao smiled gently and took only a little from each child: "Thank you for your kindness, this is enough."
After the children reluctantly left, Chen Xianmiao returned to the room and realized that Xiao Feng had woken up.
She brought over a bowl of steaming chicken soup: "Here, try the chicken soup I stewed."
Xiao Feng took the bowl, sniffed it, and his face suddenly changed: "Is this... is this chicken soup? Why does it smell like poison?"
Chen Xianmiao said huffily: "Hmph, don't drink it if you don't want to!"
Xiao Feng's eyes rolled, and he said with a grin: "How about this, you taste it first, and then I'll drink it?"
"You!" Chen Xianmiao was both annoyed and amused: "I think you're asking for a beating!"
The two exchanged words, and the room was filled with laughter.
After bantering for a while, Xiao Feng suddenly sat up, patted his chest, and said: "Heh, it seems my injury is almost healed. Miss Xianmiao, today I'll show you my cooking skills!"
Chen Xianmiao looked at him in surprise: "You can cook too?"
Xiao Feng proudly raised an eyebrow: "Of course, I'm a cooking master!"
Saying that, he darted into the kitchen and started bustling about.
Pots, bowls, and pans clanged non-stop, and from time to time, Xiao Feng's exclamations could be heard: "Oh no, why are these green onions running faster than rabbits?"
"Hey, little chili pepper, don't throw a tantrum at me!"
Chen Xianmiao couldn't help but laugh. Standing at the kitchen door, hearing Xiao Feng's fumbling, a touch of sweetness welled up in her heart.
Having spent these days together, she liked this humorous and interesting Dragon more and more.
"Xiao Feng, are you really okay?" Chen Xianmiao couldn't help but ask.
Xiao Feng didn't turn his head, and said confidently: "Don't worry, I'm the Reincarnation of the God of Cooking!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a potato rolled off the cutting board.
Chen Xianmiao smiled and shook her head, thinking that this fool was truly both annoying and amusing.
Finally, after a fierce battle, Xiao Feng came out carrying a plate of dishes that looked, smelled, and tasted delicious.
"Please taste it, I guarantee it will amaze you!" he said smugly.
Chen Xianmiao took a bite, and her eyes immediately lit up: "It's really delicious! I didn't expect you to have this skill."
Xiao Feng chuckled: "That's right, I'm a hidden talent!"
Just like that, the two chatted back and forth, enjoying a pleasant dinner.
However, happy times are always short-lived.
After Xiao Feng's injuries healed, he knew he had to leave.
Looking at Chen Xianmiao's gentle smile, Xiao Feng's heart was filled with mixed emotions.
He understood Chen Xianmiao's feelings for him, but the path of cultivation was long and dangerous, and he couldn't bear to involve her in it.
"I... I should go." Xiao Feng said softly, trying hard to hide the reluctance in his voice.
The smile on Chen Xianmiao's face froze instantly, but she quickly forced herself to be calm: "Oh... okay, your injuries are healed, you should indeed go back."
After saying that, she quickly turned around and left, using the excuse of going up the mountain to gather herbs.
Xiao Feng looked at Chen Xianmiao's receding back and couldn't help but sigh.
He knew Chen Xianmiao was forcing a smile and must be very sad inside.
Chen Xianmiao walked aimlessly on the mountain, tears flowing down her face unconsciously.
She had thought Xiao Feng would stay, but she didn't expect him to still leave.
She suppressed the disappointment in her heart and mechanically gathered herbs.
Night fell, and Chen Xianmiao returned home with a weary body.
As she approached her house, she sensed the presence of a person.
Her heart skipped a beat. Had Xiao Feng changed his mind?
With a glimmer of hope, Chen Xianmiao quickly walked into the house.
She saw Xiao Feng busy in the kitchen, and the table was filled with a sumptuous feast.
"You... you didn't leave?" Chen Xianmiao asked in surprise.
Xiao Feng turned around and said with a smile: "Didn't I say I was going to treat you to a meal? How could I just leave?"
A warmth welled up in Chen Xianmiao's heart. She knew this was Xiao Feng's farewell dinner.
