Ready

A chance

Shao Yue gritted his teeth, seemingly having made up his mind: "Then... how about you become my concubine? I promise to treat you well, to give you..."

Before he finished speaking, with a sharp "slap," Lan Ying delivered a heavy slap to Shao Yue's face.

Shao Yue stumbled back, covering his face, looking at Lan Ying in disbelief.

Anger burned in Lan Ying's eyes, her chest heaved violently, clearly enraged by Shao Yue's words.

"You dare ask me to be a concubine?"

She gritted her teeth and said: "I, Lan Ying, have unwavering pride. How could I be subservient to anyone? I never planned to marry anyone in this life!"

These words undoubtedly completely infuriated Lan Ying.

She turned and left, walking quickly, wishing she could leave this suffocating place immediately.

At that time, Xiao Feng was secretly watching from the shadows. Seeing this scene, he couldn't help but feel a bit of admiration for Lan Ying.

This woman is truly an extraordinary person.

Afterward, Xiao Feng returned to the lively banquet. Zhao Yuwei was already waiting there, while Sima Yan had eaten until his belly was round, looking satisfied.

Seeing Xiao Feng return, Zhao Yuwei quickly asked: "You followed them, did you find anything?"

Xiao Feng's expression was calm as he truthfully replied: "Shao Yue likes Lan Ying."

However, they didn't seem surprised, knowing that the way Shao Yue treated Lan Ying felt very special.

In You Yan City, Lan Ying did not stay long. After everyone quickly finished this meal, Lan Ying handed over the items that Mo Gan City had paid tribute to You Yan City one by one.

Afterward, she took Xiao Feng and the others and left this city.

However, not long after returning to Mo Gan City, Lan Ying's Wu Yang's Father, the Mo Gan City City Lord, suddenly summoned her.

The City Lord's expression was solemn as he slowly spoke: "The son of the You Yan City City Lord intends to take you as a concubine."

This news was like a bolt from the blue, making Lan Ying furious.

As the night deepened, Lan Ying quietly slipped out of Mo Gan City. She glanced back at the city wall, its silhouette under the moonlight looking so familiar.

"Goodbye, my home," she murmured softly, then turned and melted into the night.

Just then, a strange fluctuation swept over them.

The surrounding scenery scattered like ripples on water.

Xiao Feng, Zhao Yuwei, and Sima Yan only felt their vision blur, and when they focused again, they found themselves among a group of Cultivators.

At some point, they had changed into uniform sect clothing and were moving with the flow of people towards a majestic city.

"This... what is going on?" Zhao Yuwei asked in a surprised whisper.

Xiao Feng cautiously looked around and replied softly: "The Resentful Realm must have changed. Look, Lan Ying is over there too."

Indeed, in the crowd not far away, Lan Ying's figure was faintly visible. She had also changed into the same clothing, blending in among the Cultivators, walking towards that city.

Sima Yan's eyes widened, staring at the scene before him in disbelief. He said blankly: "Could it be... this is Mo Yuan City!"

"Mo Yuan City?" Xiao Feng and Zhao Yuwei exclaimed simultaneously.

Just then, a dazzling white light suddenly burst forth in the sky. After the light dispersed, a Dragon wearing a white robe appeared out of thin air. His face was handsome, his temperament refined, like an immortal descending to the world.

The white-robed Dragon's voice was distant and ethereal, reaching everyone's ears: "Esteemed Daoist friends, to obtain the elixirs of Mo Yuan City, you must pass three trials."

He then explained the content and rules of the trials in detail.

However, Lan Ying was clearly unwilling to play by the rules. When the night was deep and quiet, she secretly snuck into the study where the elixirs were stored. After finding the elixirs, without a word, she swallowed them directly!

Just then, the white-robed Dragon appeared again. Lan Ying was immediately flustered, thinking she was about to be punished.

Unexpectedly, the white-robed Dragon did not get angry, but instead smiled lightly and said: "Kneel and acknowledge me as your master."

Lan Ying looked bewildered, not understanding what scheme the other party was up to.

The white-robed Dragon smiled mysteriously and said: "You and I have a destined encounter."

As soon as he finished speaking, a cool energy emerged from within Lan Ying's body. Lan Ying was surprised to find that the elixirs she had swallowed had transformed into streaks of spiritual light within her body, flowing along her Meridians throughout her whole body.

She involuntarily knelt down, clasped her hands together, and respectfully performed a deep bow.

The white-robed Dragon nodded slightly, and with a wave of his hand, the world immediately changed color. Ethereal white mist rose around Zhou Wei, and faintly visible were immortal cranes flying and spiritual beasts galloping. A vast righteous energy descended from the sky, enveloping the two of them.

"Heaven and earth bear witness, today I accept you as my Disciple." The white-robed Dragon said solemnly: "From now on, you shall be my Personal Disciple, the Mo Yuan City City Lord's Personal Disciple."

Days passed like flowing water, Lan Ying's talent was exceptional, and she learned most of the Mo Yuan City City Lord's immortal arts.

One day, a new Disciple arrived in the courtyard.

Lan Ying looked up, her eyes widening instantly; the person who came was actually Shao Yue.

As the You Yan City City Lord, Shao Yue's Wu Yang's Father committed all sorts of evil deeds, especially the oppression of Mo Gan City, which had long caused Lan Ying to be dissatisfied. Not to mention that Shao Yue had previously attempted to forcibly take her as a concubine.

Now, looking at this Dragon whom she once detested becoming her fellow Disciple, Lan Ying was filled with indignation and immediately turned her head away, unwilling to pay attention to him.

However, Shao Yue seemed like a changed person. Previously, as a City Lord who lived a life of ease, he now relentlessly pursued Lan Ying.

While Lan Ying was practicing her sword, she accidentally damaged a wooden stake. She hadn't paid it much mind, but not long after, the stake was repaired and was as good as new.

Every day at mealtime, a plate of exquisite dishes would appear before Lan Ying, and the taste of the dishes was exactly what she loved to eat on a daily basis.

Lan Ying felt suspicious and secretly observed, only to discover that all of this was Shao Yue's doing. The dignified son of the You Yan City City Lord was actually learning to cook, buying groceries and making meals for her; every detail showed his thoughtfulness.

Although Lan Ying remained outwardly calm, her heart was gradually touched by Shao Yue's sincerity.

Finally, one day, she couldn't help but ask: "Why did you come to Mo Yuan City?"

Shao Yue sighed and slowly explained: "Actually, it was to escape a forced marriage. Wu Yang's Father wanted me to marry the daughter of a neighboring great City Lord, and I didn't want to, so I ran away."

He looked at Lan Ying affectionately: "As for Wu Yang's Father sending a letter to Mo Gan City, asking you to be my concubine... that was all his idea. I never thought of wronging you, I only wanted to grow old with you."

Upon hearing this, Lan Ying's heart couldn't help but tremble.

For the first time, she seriously looked at the gentle and considerate Dragon before her; the ice in her heart seemed to show signs of melting.

In Shao Yue's gentle, water-like eyes, there was a deep love.

Lan Ying felt her heart race, her cheeks slightly flushed.

She lowered her head and said softly: "So that's how it was... I... I misunderstood you."

Seeing this, a hint of joy flashed in Shao Yue's eyes, and he carefully held Lan Ying's hand: "Lan Ying, my feelings for you have never changed. As long as you are willing, I am willing to use the rest of my life to prove my sincerity."
