232: An unexpected scene

Zhang Wu had never betrayed Mulan Manor; this was all because of Li Changfeng.

Zhang Chongfei stepped forward, arrived directly beside Zhang Wu, and reached out to grab him tightly.

"Brother, I'll take you away! You'll be fine!" Zhang Chongfei wore a serious expression; with one hand, he pulled Zhang Wu along, while his other hand gripped his Sword tightly.

Zhang Chongfei's gaze narrowed as he stared fixedly at Li Changfeng.

This person's strength is immense; even I do not have complete confidence that I could kill him.

However, if I want to rescue Zhang Wu, there is only one way: I must kill Li Changfeng.

Yet, Zhang Chongfei lacked the confidence to kill Li Changfeng based on his own strength!

Consequently, Zhang Chongfei found himself in a forced predicament, with absolutely no other options.

"Oh? You still treat this person who betrayed you as a brother?" Li Changfeng curled his lips into a sneer.

In truth, Li Changfeng had already foreseen Zhang Chongfei's end at this moment.

That Zhang Chongfei would actually be willing to trust Zhang Wu was truly the most foolish of actions.

"What? This was all your doing; Zhang Wu never betrayed Mulan Manor!" Zhang Chongfei clenched his fists tightly and stood in front of Zhang Wu.

Zhang Chongfei raised his head, his gaze narrowing as he stared fixedly at Li Changfeng.

At this moment, Zhang Chongfei made a decision: no matter what happened, he would take Zhang Wu away; he absolutely could not let Zhang Wu die here.

"Me? As I said, if it weren't for Zhang Wu, I wouldn't have found this place. If Zhang Wu had never betrayed Mulan Manor, then how did I come here and manage to find you?" Li Changfeng sneered.

As he said this, Li Changfeng deliberately glanced at Zhang Wu.

Li Changfeng's words struck a chord in Zhang Chongfei's heart.

In fact, Zhang Chongfei had doubted this issue before, but now that he had chosen to believe in Zhang Wu, he would not doubt him again.

However, when Li Changfeng spoke those words, doubt still stirred within Zhang Chongfei's heart.

In truth, Zhang Chongfei did not yet fully trust Zhang Wu; naturally, this was unavoidable.

In Zhang Chongfei's view, Zhang Wu had betrayed them!

And when choosing to believe in such a person once again, it was extremely difficult for Zhang Chongfei to make that decision; he had no other choice.

"No, that's not right; this is all your scheme!" A cold glint erupted in Zhang Chongfei's eyes as he tightly clenched his fists.

At this moment, Zhang Chongfei was filled with hatred for Li Changfeng. He took a deep breath, first forcing himself to calm down.

After all, faced with such a situation, Zhang Chongfei was helpless.

Thus.

Li Changfeng felt even more exasperated; he just believed Zhang Wu like that?

This Zhang Chongfei, honestly, is truly gullible!

"Me? My scheme? Then tell me, what exactly have I done?" Li Changfeng sneered, not taking the matter to heart at all.

"Commander, you must believe me! This person is the one scheming; this is not what I wanted to do!" Zhang Wu clenched his fists tightly.

In truth, what Zhang Wu wanted most right now was to gain Zhang Chongfei's trust.

Zhang Wu did not want to be hunted by Mulan Manor; he felt so helpless.

If he had to choose between Mulan Manor and Li Changfeng, Zhang Wu would rather offend Li Changfeng than offend Mulan Manor.

Mulan Manor's attitude toward traitors was zero tolerance; that was simply an unavoidable fact.

"Zhang Wu, I believe you, but there is one thing I don't understand." Zhang Chongfei turned back, looked at Zhang Wu, and took a deep breath, first forcing himself to calm down.

After a long while, Zhang Chongfei sighed meaningfully, "Can you tell me?"

"Commander, what do you want to ask?" Zhang Wu was even more curious. He raised his head, a cold glint erupting in his eyes.

Just at this moment, Zhang Wu smiled slightly as he looked at Zhang Chongfei.

In truth, Zhang Wu also did not understand; he was even more confused as to what exactly Zhang Chongfei wanted to ask.

Matters had reached this point, and Zhang Wu was helpless; he also wanted to ask clearly and get a definitive answer.

"Have you ever betrayed Mulan Manor?" Zhang Chongfei turned back, a cold glint erupting in his bright eyes.

Zhang Chongfei clenched his fists tightly as he stared at Zhang Wu.

At this moment, Zhang Chongfei wanted an answer—an answer he himself hoped for.

"I have not." Zhang Wu clenched his fists tightly and took a deep breath, first forcing himself to calm down.

And it was at this very moment.

Zhang Wu's face was sullen; he stood up straight, his back as stiff as a board.

"I, Zhang Wu, can swear that I have never betrayed Mulan Manor! Commander, you must believe me!" Zhang Wu wore a serious expression; looking at him, he did not seem to be lying.

Immediately, Zhang Chongfei took a deep breath, and he knew what to think.

"Good, I hope what you say is true." Zhang Chongfei breathed a sigh of relief; this was the answer he wanted.

"Zhang Chongfei, you can actually believe Zhang Wu's words?" Li Changfeng sneered, stepping forward.

"What?" Zhang Chongfei turned back abruptly, a cold glint erupting in his eyes. "What do you mean by that?"

Zhang Chongfei's face was sullen; he felt quite helpless. Just a moment ago, he had wanted to resolve this matter, but in the end, he had no way to do so.

Li Changfeng tapped his toes lightly and leaped into the air.

At this moment, a cold glint erupted in Li Changfeng's eyes as he turned back to look at Zhang Chongfei.

"Zhang Wu has betrayed Mulan Manor; you would believe such a person?" Li Changfeng sneered, watching this scene coldly.

"Zhang Wu, have you or have you not betrayed Mulan Manor!" Zhang Chongfei was nearing the edge of a breakdown; he stared fixedly at Zhang Wu with a sullen face.

Zhang Wu felt helpless; he had already said it several times that he had never betrayed Mulan Manor, yet this scene after scene made him feel extremely frustrated.

If there were a way, Zhang Wu would not want to keep saying these things.

"Commander, I have already said it; I really have never betrayed Mulan Manor! I can swear to it! Besides, why would I betray Mulan Manor? Would I really risk betraying Mulan Manor just to be hunted down by them?" Zhang Wu shouted with a sullen face.

Zhang Wu stated the matter clearly, looking righteous and stern.

Zhang Chongfei felt helpless regarding Zhang Wu's words; he no longer knew who to believe.

"Zhang Wu, have you or have you not betrayed Mulan Manor! I will ask you one last time! Otherwise, I will definitely not spare you!" Zhang Chongfei was nearly breaking down.
