283: Tang Family Banquet
Tang Ru led a group of Tang Family Disciples at the front, with Tang Eleven following closely behind.
Familiar scenes unfolded before his eyes.
With a Sword Casket on his back and a serious expression, Tang Eleven rushed toward the grand feast.
Tang Eleven had no other choice; his only goal was to save his grandfather, and he had no desire to become the so-called Tang Sect Leader.
However, Tang Eleven was helpless and felt a deep sense of resignation.
“Shiyi, it wasn't easy for you to come to your senses. During the grand feast, everything must go according to plan. You must not act recklessly,” Tang Ru said, looking back at Tang Eleven.
In truth, Tang Ru was somewhat worried. If Tang Eleven caused trouble, the Tang Family would be left with no options at this grand feast.
This was something Tang Ru had to prevent.
Once Tang Eleven took the position of Sect Master at the feast, it wouldn't be wise for him to start issuing direct orders immediately.
“Third Master, what kind of trouble do you think I would cause?” Tang Eleven asked with a dark expression, a cold light flashing in his eyes.
Then, Tang Eleven turned his head and stared fixedly at Tang Ru.
In Tang Eleven's heart, Tang Ru was now a traitor to the Tang Family.
After his grandfather was taken away by the people of Mulan Manor, Tang Ru showed no signs of panic, as if he didn't care about the matter at all.
It seemed as though this was exactly what Tang Ru wanted to see, which only fueled the fire of rage in Tang Eleven's heart.
Tang Eleven already harbored hostility toward Tang Ru and no longer trusted him.
“I'm only reminding you. As for what you want to do, that's your own business; I can't control you,” Tang Ru said, reaching out to gently stroke his white beard.
Tang Ru knew that this boy, Tang Eleven, had always been hostile toward him regarding the matter of the Tang Sect Leader, but there was nothing to be done about it.
If Tang Ru had the strength, he would have certainly stopped Mulan Manor instead of acting this way.
“Fine, Third Master. Please rest assured, I will do what I must,” Tang Eleven said coldly, letting out a snort.
Tang Eleven was enveloped in Evil Qi, and with the Sword Casket on his back, he exuded an even more ferocious aura.
Tang Ru had been walking in front and hadn't noticed the Sword Casket on Tang Eleven's back yet.
“Third Master, can I ask you something?” Tang Eleven asked, his face dark and expression serious.
The current state of the Tang Family was not what Tang Eleven wanted. After the Tang Sect Leader was taken away, these Tang Family Disciples should have been launching a counterattack!
Instead, they were here welcoming a new Sect Master!
It was truly frustrating.
“Just say it,” Tang Ru nodded, feeling somewhat curious.
“Why was Grandfather taken away? After he was taken, why didn't Second Master and Third Master make any move to rescue him, but instead want to support my rise to power? What is the meaning of this?” Tang Eleven didn't understand.
At this moment, Tang Eleven's face was grim, a cold light burst from his eyes, and he clenched his fists tightly.
By now, Tang Eleven had set aside his former side-Sword and was carrying the Sword Casket on his back.
This Sword Casket was a Martial Skill of the Tang Family's Old Ancestor. It contained twelve Swords, controlled by one's power.
During the Tang Family Old Ancestor's Peak period, he could control eleven Swords, which is why he named his descendant Tang Eleven.
“Child, some things are not as simple as you imagine. Mulan Manor's power is immense; the Tang Sect alone does not have the strength to oppose them,” Tang Ru sighed deeply.
In truth, Tang Ru was also very helpless regarding his eldest brother's situation.
Tang Ru had also wanted to save his brother, but he simply lacked the strength and could not achieve it.
“Mulan Manor is number one in the world, while the Tang Sect is merely the overlord of this Yunzhou City. One is in the heavens and the other on the ground—how can they compare?”
“If Mulan Manor wants to kill us, it would be like crushing an ant!”
“We have no choice.”
After saying this, Tang Ru let out a long, helpless sigh.
If Tang Ru had even the slightest chance, he wouldn't have taken this path. After all, that was his own Elder brother.
His brother had been taken by Mulan Manor, yet he could do nothing.
“Then why was Grandfather taken by the people of Mulan Manor?” Tang Eleven asked again, taking a deep breath to try and calm himself down.
Tang Eleven had a plan; he wanted to save his grandfather, but he had to know some information first.
If he went into this blindly, he would just be a reckless fool.
Upon hearing this question, Tang Ru suddenly fell silent and halted his steps.
Puzzled, Tang Eleven also stopped and stood behind Tang Ru, waiting for a reaction.
At this moment, too many memories flooded Tang Ru's mind, and he didn't want to recall them.
After a long while.
Tang Ru finally let out a long, helpless sigh.
“Don't ask about this right now; it's not something you should know,” Tang Ru said with a dark face, seemingly remembering something unpleasant.
Tang Eleven was naturally unwilling to give up. He looked up, his bright eyes staring fixedly at Tang Ru.
Tang Eleven didn't want to just let it go; he wanted to find out exactly what had happened to the Tang Family.
Why did Mulan Manor seize his grandfather? Was there more to this?
Or perhaps the Tang Family had infringed upon Mulan Manor's interests, and Tang Eleven was unaware of it?
Tang Eleven wanted to get to the bottom of it, but Tang Ru had no intention of speaking, which was frustrating.
“Why?” Tang Eleven asked, his emotions becoming agitated.
“On what basis is this not something I should know!”
“That is my grandfather!”
“Grandfather was taken by Mulan Manor. Do I not even have the right to know why?”
Tang Eleven was on the verge of a breakdown, highly agitated and clenching his fists tightly.
If it weren't for the fact that Tang Ru was his Elder, Tang Eleven's fist would have surely landed on Tang Ru's face.
“Shiyi, don't involve yourself in this matter. It won't do you any good, do you understand?” Tang Ru said darkly, a cold light flashing in his eyes.
And right at that moment.
Tang Eleven took a deep breath, his eyes flashing with a cold light.
“But why, Third Master? Can you give me a reason? I don't want to be kept in the dark like this,” Tang Eleven said coldly.
In fact, these matters only further stoked the flames of anger in his heart. Tang Eleven had no other choice, yet he remained persistent.
This was exactly what Tang Eleven didn't want to do.
“There is no reason. This is a matter for the elders; you don't need to know. Now, you just need to do what you're supposed to do. Do you understand, boy?” Tang Ru snorted.
Hearing this, Tang Eleven was stunned. He didn't understand.
Why couldn't he even know the truth of the matter?
Or was there something else going on!
Was it something Tang Eleven couldn't handle?
“For now, you take the position of the Tang Family's Sect Master. Second Master and I will handle the rest. Big Brother will return; it's just a matter of time. You must not meddle in these affairs,” Tang Ru said with a wave of his sleeve and a snort.
Tang Eleven felt even more helpless; he had no other way.
But Tang Eleven had already made his decision: he had to rescue his grandfather. However, without any information, he was in a difficult position.
“But, Third Master!” Tang Eleven tried to argue further.
“Shut up! Don't say another word. First, do what you are supposed to do!” Tang Ru barked.
This shout startled Tang Eleven, leaving him feeling utterly helpless.
He had no choice but to comply for now.
“Understood, Third Master,” Tang Eleven said, clenching his fists. He felt unwilling; if only his strength were greater, he would surely go to Mulan Manor himself to rescue his grandfather.
Tang Eleven wouldn't rely on the Tang Family at all; he could do it alone.
Tang Ru ignored Tang Eleven and left directly for the grand feast. Before leaving, he left these words: “Bring the Young Master to the feast! Keep an eye on him!”
“Yes, Third Master!” the Tang Family Disciples responded, cupping their fists respectfully.
And right at that moment.
Tang Eleven stood stunned and let out a long sigh.
There was nothing else he could do. Tang Eleven wanted to save his grandfather, but on his own, he had no way.
An hour later, Tang Ru led Tang Eleven into the grand feast with great fanfare.
By now, many guests had arrived, most of whom were prominent figures in Yunzhou City.
With such a major event for the Tang Family, these people of Yunzhou City didn't dare not attend.
Tang Eleven looked up and scanned the area; many people were already there.
Among them were many Disciples from the great families of Yunzhou City, and even some Family Elders.
The appointment of a new Sect Master for the Tang Family was a major event, not just for the Tang Family, but for the fate of Yunzhou City as well.
The Tang Family was already a local overlord in Yunzhou City. If the new Family head was too tyrannical, the Disciples of the other Yunzhou City families would likely be dissatisfied.
If that happened, internal strife within Yunzhou City was highly possible.
Of course, neither Tang Ru nor the other families of Yunzhou City wanted to see that, as it would benefit none of them.
“Shiyi, are you ready?” Tang Ru turned back and looked at Tang Eleven behind him.
In truth, Tang Ru had long since made a plan: if Tang Eleven didn't behave, someone else could take that position, as long as they were from the Tang Family.
The reason he was letting Tang Eleven rise to power was out of sentiment for his eldest brother.
The young eldest grandson becoming the Tang Sect Leader would also be more acceptable to the various great families of Yunzhou City.
“Third Master, I don't want to be any Sect Master. I just want to save Grandfather! I want to go to Mulan Manor!” A cold light burst from Tang Eleven's eyes.
