217: Chapter 217 The Hunter King is charging in!!!

Beside the main console, the proprietress had already broken into the commercial channel before anyone knew it.

Gripping her ledger and looking up at the explosion of blood-red light in the sky, she showed not a hint of panic on her face; instead, she nimbly clicked the beads of her abacus, making a rhythmic clattering sound.

"I'm betting on Chen Chen to win."

The few mine slaves nearby were stunned.

"Proprietress, you're opening a betting pool at a time like this?"

The proprietress slammed a whole chest of purple gold raw stones onto the table.

"Open it."

"The thirty boxes I just scraped together—betting them all on this side."

"Whoever dares to bet on the tin can winning, I'll make them go scrub pots for Su Xiaoqi tonight."

Su Xiaoqi immediately raised her hand.

"I can do just half."

"Shut up."

The proprietress didn't even look up.

"I haven't finished yet. Chen Chen wins, odds are one to one."

"Chen Chen dismantles that tin can, odds are one to ten."

"Chen Chen decapitates him personally, odds are one to thirty."

The lower-level channel exploded instantly.

"Proprietress, you're crazy!"

"That's a Tier 6!"

"You're just giving away money!"

The proprietress's fox ears twitched, and she smiled brightly.

"Giving away money depends on the person."

"A man who dares to bet against my ledger—how could he possibly lose to a piece of scrap metal?"

Just as she finished speaking, someone on the city wall moved.

Blood Rose stood on the outer edge of the high tower, her long red hair whipped into a frenzy by the wind, her palms covered in blood forced out by backlash.

She stared at the moment when Hunter King's descent was slowest, then suddenly slashed her wrist.

Pink poisonous blood, mixed with star core crystal sand, was flung directly into the airflow above.

"Chen Chen, give me half a second."

"That's enough."

Jiang Yanxue had already charged out from the flank, the Shadow Instant-Kill Blade in her hand compressed into a black line.

Su Xiaoqi wasn't idle either; she swung a dragon-earth thigh bone that had just been dragged up and charged with a howl.

"Move aside, I'm going to smash his leg!"

Blood Rose lifted her chin, and the toxic mist dispersed along the wind pressure.

Hunter King had just had his perception modules sent haywire by the collapse, and after being grazed by the toxic gas mixed into the crystal sand, his movements slowed by half a beat.

It was precisely this half-beat.

Jiang Yanxue sliced in, hugging the gap in his right-side armor.

With a flick of her blade, the half-finger-deep connection layer split open.

Su Xiaoqi's large bone followed closely, smashing into his lower leg's outer armor.

"Thud!"

Hunter King's entire right leg sank, and he lost his balance, nearly snapping in mid-air.

"Wow—!"

Shen Wanxing sat bolt upright as she watched.

"They hit him! They actually hit him!"

She pointed at the screen, her voice cracking.

"That thing I touched earlier really worked!"

Shen Wanbing didn't look back; she had already pushed out the second round of fire control windows.

"Qin Hongye, predictive scope."

On the sniper tower, Qin Hongye had already steadied her rifle.

The repair membrane on her right shoulder had split, and blood was seeping out again, but the Meteor Orbit Sniper Cannon remained firmly locked to her shoulder.

In the newly installed weak-point predictive scope, Hunter King's energy flow was sliced into thin lines.

She held her breath, suppressing even the slightest tremor of her body and the rifle.

"Found you."

The moment she pulled the trigger, the rifle jolted violently.

The projectile didn't fly straight.

It first grazed a section of broken bone wing, then ricocheted off the edge of a shattered shield, and finally pierced through along an almost invisible curved path.

"Bang!"

A life-saving crystal shield on Hunter King's right neck shattered on the spot.

His head jerked to the side, and a ring of sparks burst from the outer mechanical shell of his neck.

"Well done."

Chen Chen gave only those four words.

Qin Hongye didn't reply, though her hand trembled slightly, she steadied the muzzle again in the next second.

She stared at the target and squeezed out a cold sentence.

"One more shot, and I can blow his head off."

"Save it."

Chen Chen raised his hand.

"Wait for him to get closer."

Hunter King took two rounds of artillery fire and toxic mist head-on, finally shaking off the fire lines on his body.

He lifted his head, the flesh-and-blood lines on his face twitching.

That already abnormal face looked even more like it had been slowly shredded by a blade.

"Lower ants..."

His voice squeezed out from his chest, carrying a burnt smell.

"You have angered me."

Shen Wanbing scanned the data and raised her voice to warn them.

"His spatial armor hasn't broken."

"His perception links have recovered by thirty percent."

"Chen Chen, don't let him get in your face."

Chen Chen held the Space-Shattering Gravity Anti-Ship Sword horizontally in front of him and replied indifferently.

"Too late."

As soon as the words left his mouth, the flesh-and-blood heavy blade on Hunter King's back was drawn.

That thing was a full twenty meters long, with raised barbs covering one side of the blade; as it was drawn, it brought with it a string of shredded flesh and grayish-white electric arcs.

Someone in the lower hold saw this scene and screamed, their voice cracking.

"Is that a blade?"

"That's something meant to split the city in half!"

Jiang Jiuyou didn't waste words, directly lowering the volume of the city-wide broadcast.

"All war vehicles, retreat three hundred meters."

"Turrets, rotate to position two."

"Qin Hongye, keep locking onto the neck."

"Blood Rose, don't stop."

"Su Xiaoqi, smash his second leg for me."

Su Xiaoqi shouted while running.

"The second leg is mine, but what about the third?"

"Make sure you come back alive first."

Chen Chen took a step forward.

As he activated the Gravity Domain, Hunter King's downward momentum paused for a moment.

But it was only for a moment.

He actually pushed forward against the gravity suppression of the Level 3 Map, forcibly carving a blood-colored afterimage in mid-air.

"He's going to ram the city!" Mio screamed.

"Main command tower, alert!"

"Left flank shields, deploy!"

"If you can't hold him off, throw me out!" Copper Hammer was already cursing in the industrial bay. "I'll go grab my hammer and fight him!"

Chen Chen didn't let anyone retreat.

He looked up at the flesh-and-blood heavy blade pressing down toward the Pilot Tower and slammed the sea-stabilizing needle in his hand onto the ground.

Blue-gold patterns exploded outward, and the shielding layer of the star core main mine opened another gap.

Hunter King's Spirit link was yanked again instantly.

His movements stalled, and for the first time, something other than rage appeared in his eyes.

It was shock.

"You still had a trump card?"

Chen Chen lifted his eyes.

"You just realized?"

Hunter King roared, and the flesh-and-blood heavy blade pressed down violently.

The wind from the blade arrived first, directly overturning the two layers of turrets in front.

Qin Hongye let out a low shout from the top of the tower.

"Give me a three-second view!"

Shen Wanbing swiped her finger, and the holographic screen instantly zoomed in on the cracks in Hunter King's right neck and chest.

"Now!"

Qin Hongye fired the third shot immediately.

As the gunshot exploded, Blood Rose's toxic mist rolled in another layer, and Jiang Yanxue and Su Xiaoqi lunged from both sides.

Chen Chen raised his blade, meeting the flesh-and-blood heavy blade crashing down toward the Pilot Tower head-on.

The next second.

Hunter King had crossed the final ten-kilometer defensive line.

That twenty-meter-long flesh-and-blood heavy blade, accompanied by a piercing sonic boom, struck directly at the Pilot Tower of the Ghost Fortress.

On the main screen, the red alarm instantly blared to the maximum.

Shen Wanxing clutched her blanket, her entire body frozen.

"Brother..."

She had barely uttered the two words when the protective panel on the roof of the main control room was blown open with a roar.

A massive palm, wrapped in flesh and mechanical cables, had already pressed onto the outer shell of the Pilot Tower.
