233: Chapter 233 Success Rate 15%? Koi Fish Pajamas Take the Stage, One Finger Defies Heaven
Shen Wanxing sniffled.
Tears began to well up in her eyes again.
But she still raised her hand.
She closed her eyes.
A slender index finger trembled as it poked the Warp Main Control Ball.
One second.
Two seconds.
Shen Wanxing's entire body was taut as a bowstring.
The third second—
Ding!
Golden light exploded from her fingertip.
Wait, no.
The golden light only shone for a fraction of a second.
Immediately after, a purple frenzy ten times more intense than the golden light surged from the depths of the Main Control Ball, knocking Shen Wanxing's hand away directly.
A purple-gold beam of light pierced through the dome of the Main Control Room, illuminating the night sky three hundred meters above the City Lord Tower.
System notifications flooded the screen—
[ Lucky Critical triggered! ]
[ Extremely low probability, 100x multiplier activated! ]
[ Warp stability parameters forced overwrite— ]
[ Success rate: 15% → 100%! ]
[ Additional effect—S-rank status: Void Concealment! ]
[ After the jump is completed, the spatial trajectory will be completely erased for 24 hours! Tracking-type skills will be unable to reverse-locate! ]
Inside the Main Control Room, everyone froze.
Mio's projection was stuck in mid-air, her mouth hanging open, unable to close.
"...One hundred percent?"
Shen Wanbing's fingers paused on the keyboard, and she looked up.
Mio's voice sounded as if it were being squeezed out by someone choking her.
"This woman... this woman's luck..."
Su Xiaoqi squatted nearby, holding her pot, summarizing seriously.
"Sister Wanxing is especially effective when she touches things while crying."
The Radar alarm suddenly changed its pitch.
Shen Wanbing lunged back at the keyboard.
"Three hundred kilometers!"
"A Tier 6 peak Command Machine has entered the main cannon's firing range!"
She almost shouted.
"It has locked onto us!"
On the holographic projection, the massive outline of that Tier 6 peak Judgment Command Machine emerged.
It was entirely gray-white, over a thousand meters long, and its shape was between a warship and a humanoid machine.
Right in the center of its chest cavity, a gray-white sphere of light over a hundred meters in diameter was rapidly condensing.
Energy readings were skyrocketing.
Shen Wanbing's voice was stretched to the limit.
"Annihilation Main Cannon—charging complete!"
"It's firing!"
In the holographic image, that gray-white beam of light tore through the night sky.
Its diameter was large enough to slice a mountain range in half.
The space at the front of the beam was twisting and shattering; wherever it passed, even air molecules were directly erased.
It smashed straight down towards the top of the Sea-Air Composite Fortress.
"Warp—"
Chen Chen's voice slammed into all channels.
"Activate."
Jiang Jiuyou slammed both palms onto the control console.
The Star Sea Composite Energy Furnace, the Star Core Main Mineral Heart, and the residual energy of the Tier 6 Hunter King core—the triple power supply link overloaded and ignited simultaneously.
The entire city emitted a roar so deep it rattled the bones.
The gray-white annihilation beam had already touched the outermost Faith Shield of the city defense dome.
A white-hot ring of light was seared onto the contact surface of the golden shield.
0.03 seconds.
0.02 seconds.
0.01 seconds.
All light was instantly stretched into lines.
The entire Sea-Air Composite Fortress, along with the city, over a hundred thousand people, and all vehicles, turned into a streak of light and vanished from the spot.
Cleanly.
Not even a ripple in space was left behind.
The gray-white annihilation beam lost its target, and all its energy slammed into the empty wasteland ground.
Boom!!
A giant crater three kilometers in diameter exploded open.
The strata were gouged four hundred meters deep, and magma surged from the bottom.
The shockwave crushed everything in all directions, leveling all matter within a ten-kilometer radius to flat ground.
Three hundred kilometers away.
The Tier 6 peak Judgment Command Machine hovered in mid-air.
Its hundreds of mechanical perception eyes scanned that empty wasteland simultaneously.
All tracking protocols reported errors.
[ Target lost. ]
[ Spatial trajectory does not exist. ]
[ Residual scroll fluctuations... zeroed. ]
A silence that lasted three seconds.
Then, this thousand-meter giant ship let out a furious mechanical roar, the sound waves cracking the hulls of the three accompanying scout shuttles nearby.
The searchlights of fifty Judgment warships were cranked to full power, frantically sweeping every inch of the void.
But there was nothing there.
The prey had already vanished under another sky they could not reach.
—
The moment the warp terminated, the entire Sea-Air Composite Fortress made a hard landing that shook Mio's projection into a blur.
The low rumble emitted by the metal frame penetrated every deck.
The safety ropes in the Lower Deck were stretched to their limit; a few miners who hadn't held on tight rolled out of their bunks. Iron Wall roared at the top of his lungs, "Everyone get down!" and then threw himself onto the floor.
In the Main Control Room, Mio's projection floated in mid-air, her hands covering her chest, her electronic face twisted into a question mark.
"A 5,000-kilometer class warp."
She emitted a mechanical sound similar to a sob.
"Using a piece of remnant scroll code that was only two-sevenths complete, forcibly welded into a Level 3 civilization power furnace."
"It worked."
Three seconds of silence.
"I don't want to speak anymore."
Copper Hammer ran out from the engineering cabin carrying a welding torch, his face covered in soot, his beard blown backward the entire way due to the airflow, looking as excited as if he had won the lottery.
"That was intense! That's what I call intense!" He slapped the main cannon's protective plate. "Lord, when can we do it again? I'll weld the energy furnace a circle wider, and we can start at six thousand kilometers!"
Mio turned her head.
"If we do it again, I'll self-destruct."
Copper Hammer didn't care at all.
"You're electronic; you can't be blown up."
Mio gave up completely, her projection going silent.
Shen Wanbing was already seated at the main control console, her white shirt wrinkled in a few places, half her hair loose, as she forced the global Radar to come online.
The next second, the screen turned completely red.
"Radar signals are being interfered with across the board." She cut off the Radar map and switched to optical surveillance.
All projections in the Main Control Room lit up simultaneously.
No one spoke.
The fortress hadn't smashed into a wasteland.
Surrounding them were rock walls, and the enclosed dome was only about two hundred meters above the top of the city.
The entire underground space blocked all external light, yet there was no darkness—the rock walls themselves were glowing.
A ghostly blue.
Patches of mineral veins were densely embedded in the stone walls, their purity so high that as soon as Shen Wanbing's Spirit tentacles touched them, they bounced back.
Su Xiaoqi pressed against the transparent bulletproof window, sniffing hard against the glass with her little nose, and swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
"Brother, it seems like we've fallen into a super-sized refrigerator."
She turned her head, her eyes shining unusually bright.
"The stones outside... they smell like iced Sprite and frozen beef."
Mio's projection turned sharply.
"Can you—"
"I'm talking about energy density!"
Su Xiaoqi was dead serious. "That's what it smells like when the energy is dense; it's the same feeling as high-grade meat jelly."
A brief silence in the Main Control Room.
Blood Rose held it in for three seconds before being the first to laugh out loud.
Jiang Jiuyou raised a hand to rub her temples, pulling her gaze back to the Radar map.
"Send out a reconnaissance team."
Fifteen minutes later, the report from the Dark Division mobile squad came back.
The outer rock walls possessed a natural dual-shielding structure, with physical isolation and Spirit interference layered together, equivalent to a completely sealed signal black hole.
External probes couldn't penetrate, and internal signals couldn't get out either.
Jiang Jiuyou spread the data out on the projection.
"To the Grey-White Sanctuary, this place is equivalent to a safe."
Shen Wanbing tapped her fingertip on one of the mineral vein scan data segments.
"Not just that. This scale of high-grade mineral reserves, coupled with the dual-shielding layer, is a core storage point for long-term operations."
Chen Chen leaned back in the main control chair, swept a glance at the ghost-blue mineral crystals covering the walls, and the corner of his mouth twitched.
"A one-hundred-percent warp success rate, didn't send us into the sea, but plunged us straight into the Grey-White Mechanical Holy Court's purse, dodging a Tier 6 fleet and raiding their ancestral grave while we were at it."
Upon hearing this, Copper Hammer hoisted his welding torch onto his shoulder.
"That's perfect. Since we've raided it, why not upgrade the furnace while we're at it?"
Mio quickly interjected.
"Confirm safety first, then talk about upgrades."
She pulled the reconnaissance map into a 3D structure and circled several red marked areas.
"There are mechanical sentry hibernation pods here, a resource transmission anchor point here, and here..."
She paused. "There is a large mechanical unit of a model I've never seen, currently in a low-power standby state."
"How big?" Jiang Jiuyou's tone lowered by a degree.
"Scan area: 180 meters long, 60 meters high."
Su Xiaoqi put down her pot.
"Can this be eaten?"
"No, it can trample you into meat paste."
Su Xiaoqi thought about it.
"Then I won't eat it for now."
Chen Chen stood up.
"The whole city is to enter silent garrison status. Do not start the energy furnace unless necessary, and do not emit any signals."
He looked at Jiang Jiuyou. "Investigate the storage distribution, and do not actively disturb the standby units."
Jiang Jiuyou nodded, her hand already pressing onto the troop deployment interface.
"Yi Chang—"
"The Lower Deck is already being arranged for silence."
Yi Chang's voice came from the internal affairs channel. "However, Lord, Luo Yunwei is waiting for your approval on the second phase of the propaganda plan. She says it must be decided today."
"Tell her to go find you."
"She is already here."
Yi Chang paused, her voice carrying something Chen Chen couldn't quite describe. "She is waiting in the internal affairs area."
