43: A sudden crisis!

Gazing at Black Pupil's figure as it gradually vanished into the distance, Han Fei's thoughts were pulled like invisible threads, quietly sliding back into his memory of the contract he had signed with the Special Guard Team.

In the contract, the Special Guard Team promised in solemn and unquestionable terms that they would not pry into Han Fei's privacy in any way and would absolutely respect his right to privacy.

This promise was not just a pile of hollow words, but an ironclad rule that the Special Guard Team practiced through actual deeds.

They guarded Han Fei silently, yet always maintained a perfect distance, ensuring his safety without ever touching upon his privacy.

Han Fei was deeply moved by this.

He could clearly feel the Special Guard Team's cautiousness when handling his private matters.

It was as if they were holding a fragile piece of art, fearing that the slightest carelessness would lead to irreparable consequences.

They never intentionally pried into his past, never questioned his secrets, and never tried to lift the veil he deliberately kept drawn.

This absolute respect for his privacy gave Han Fei a long-lost sense of peace, as if he had found a pure land where he could safely let down his guard.

This respect and trust undoubtedly gave Han Fei a very favorable impression of the Special Guard Team.

After all, he had many secrets; if he had to constantly guard against the Special Guard Team members around him, he would not only be physically and mentally exhausted but might also inadvertently slip up and expose his secrets.

Aside from the privacy aspect, many clauses in the contract were very favorable to Han Fei, and the two parties could be said to be on completely equal footing.

In some areas, Han Fei even received preferential treatment, such as the protection of his personal safety and so on.

While feeling grateful, Han Fei also had many questions.

Why would the Special Guard Team sign such a contract with him?

Previously, he didn't have much of a direct impression of the Special Guard Team, merely seeing them as one of the many elite forces of the Dragon Country.

An iron-blooded force that would step out of the shadows only in moments of extreme crisis, when conventional security forces were no longer sufficient, to quell chaos with thunderous means.

At that time, he only saw the Special Guard Team as a powerful and professional super-powered special forces unit, knowing very little about the depth and complexity behind them.

Later, as he searched for clues in various places, he used scattered fragments of information to vaguely piece together the true face of the Special Guard Team.

Only then did Han Fei suddenly realize how shallow his understanding of the Special Guard Team had been.

It turned out that the Special Guard Team's duties went far beyond responding to sudden major crises; they were an invisible shield, constantly guarding every influential figure at the top of the Dragon Country's power pyramid!

These big shots were all key figures who held the lifeblood of the nation and influenced the fate of hundreds of millions of people.

Their safety was directly related to the stability and prosperity of the entire country.

Those responsible for protecting them were naturally the strongest force in the Dragon Country!

For the Special Guard Team to be entrusted with such a heavy responsibility, they naturally possessed the strength to match.

In other words, the Special Guard Team represented the Peak combat power of the Dragon Country.

They were the strongest in the Dragon Country!

Usually, they were like sharp swords hidden in their scabbards, concealed in the shadows.

Once a crisis arrived, they would unsheathe in an instant, clearing all threats with thunderous momentum.

Those big shots in high positions entrusted their safety to the Special Guard Team precisely because of their absolute trust in the team's strength.

Although the Special Guard Team was only responsible for security, in this world where strength is respected, how could the power of the Special Guard Team, which possessed the Dragon Country's greatest strength, be small?

And since the Dragon Country was a superpower ranked in the top three in the world, the international status of the Special Guard Team was naturally at the top of the pyramid.

For such a behemoth to be willing to sign an equality agreement with a small figure like him.

This truly left Han Fei somewhat flattered and even unable to understand.

"What exactly do they see in me? Is a Trash Removal Temp really that important?"

"Or could it be... they've discovered that I have a Cheat?!"

Such speculation sent chills through Han Fei's heart, and he shook his head vigorously, trying to dispel these groundless worries.

He knew that these baseless conjectures would only add to his troubles and were meaningless.

If the Special Guard Team really had designs on him, with his current meager strength, he would probably have no choice but to be captured and left at their mercy.

This sense of powerlessness made him realize that only by continuously improving his own strength could he find the only way to cope with unknown risks and achieve inner peace.

At this thought, Han Fei couldn't help but recall Black Tiger's unusual behavior.

"How did she suddenly..."

Han Fei thought for a moment and soon thought of something, turning his head to look toward the kitchen.

"Could it be..."

He felt like he had grasped the key.

"They're acting like this because their favorability has increased?!"

Gourmet Captive causes those who eat the delicious food he prepares to develop a liking for him.

Han Fei originally thought this effect would at most make people feel a bit more friendly toward him.

However, the reality was that people who developed a liking for him would fall deeply in love without warning, even to the point of wanting to have children with him immediately!

"Holy crap, this effect is way too exaggerated."

If that were really the case, Han Fei wouldn't dare to casually cook for others.

Everyone who ate his cooking would fall in love with him; even a fool could see there was something wrong with that.

Once this was exposed, no one would ever dare to eat his cooking again.

"This is a problem."

Han Fei's brow furrowed, feeling that things were very tricky.

He walked into the kitchen and immediately locked eyes with Liu Yueer.

Liu Yueer's pretty face flushed, her eyes too shy to look at Han Fei.

"It's over, this one is already deeply in love."

Han Fei's expression was gloomy, not knowing how to handle it.

"Um... what happened outside just now?"

Liu Yueer asked in a small voice.

"Nothing, Black Tiger just got too excited while eating, and things got a bit loud," Han Fei explained casually.

"Mhm, with your culinary skills, such a reaction is quite normal."

Liu Yueer opened her ruby lips, her voice filled with deep admiration and appreciation.

A thread-like tenderness and sweetness flowed from her eyes, filling the air with a sugary atmosphere.

Locking eyes with that lingering gaze, Han Fei immediately got goosebumps, fearing Liu Yueer's next sentence would be about having children with him.

Realizing the subtle shift in the atmosphere, Han Fei made a quick decision.

He feigned composure and said with a smile, "I have something to do, so I need to head back to the dormitory. See you next time."

"Ah! You're leaving already?"

Liu Yueer's tone was a mix of surprise and ill-concealed resentment, like a note suddenly falling from a lute string, carrying a faint sense of loss and reluctance.

Han Fei didn't dare look back at her as he ran toward the restaurant door, saying, "I really have an emergency. See you next time."

Soon, Han Fei ran out of the restaurant, his figure vanishing into the depths of the night.

Liu Yueer, who had chased after him, stood alone at the door, watching the empty street with mixed emotions.

Back at the dormitory, Han Fei immediately shut the door.

With a "bang," the whole world seemed to go quiet.

He leaned against the door panel and let out a long breath, the tense string in his heart finally beginning to relax.

"Damn, this Forbidden Magic is too ridiculous."

It's one thing to be able to copy others' abilities, but to actually make them fall fanatically in love with me...

Han Fei shuddered just thinking about it.

Although it might bring misfortune, Han Fei believed there were definitely many people in this world who would rather suffer misfortune just to obtain this forbidden power!

"Fortunately, I'm the one who has this perverted ability. If it were someone else..."

Han Fei would truly be unable to eat or sleep in peace.

Just as he relaxed and sat down on his familiar bed, his originally somewhat lazy gaze suddenly froze, as if jerked tight by an invisible iron hook, and focused in terror on the refrigerator where the magic cake was stored.

"What's in there?!"

His heart raced, and he almost instinctively activated his Partial Beastification ability.

Sharp, knife-like nails grew from his fingertips in an instant, and a pair of terrifying fangs were revealed between his lips.

His pupils instantly lost their human color, turning into a brilliant amber.

The reason he had such a strong reaction was that he sensed a danger in the refrigerator that far exceeded Black Pupil!

In Han Fei's perception, he was like a tiny ant that had accidentally wandered into the nest of a sleeping Dragon.

The Dragon merely turning its massive body slightly caused vibrations enough to make the ant tremble.

As if he could be crushed into powder by this power at any moment!
