116: The added value of emotions outweighs all other details.

Li Shuai didn't say a word as he returned to his room. It was a room built at the fishing ground, originally intended for him and his wife, but after his parents arrived, they all lived together.

This time, he couldn't hold it back anymore, burying his face in his hands on the desk and sobbing.

He didn't understand what he had done wrong, yet it felt as if he had never done anything right.

Back in high school, he chose not to go to university. For one, his grades weren't great, and for another, the tuition was over twenty thousand yuan a year. Given his family's poor financial situation, he chose not to attend.

He had worked as a waiter and on construction sites before eventually figuring things out and opening a Taobao shop.

Were his parents wrong? It didn't seem so.

So where exactly did things go wrong?

Watching the number of Anglers in the fishing ground's group chat dwindle, Li Shuai gave up and stopped caring. The fishing ground he had invested over 800,000 yuan in was failing.

Seeing the growing worry on his parents' faces, he stopped struggling. He felt he had lost all motivation; the feeling of not being supported was simply too painful.

How did others succeed? Perhaps the fact that he made money from his first Taobao shop really was just down to luck...

He began to doubt himself.

The only person who hadn't given up was his wife. Every day, she continued to share various fishing ground videos with him, constantly cheering him on.

She was like an angel sent from heaven to save him, always offering support when he was at his lowest.

Li Shuai began to pull himself together. Previously, he did it for his hobby, for money, and to prove himself to his parents. But now he had another reason: he wanted his wife's support to be rewarded.

"I think we could try talking to some TikTok influencers about promotion. Maybe that would help," his wife suggested.

Li Shuai took her advice and thought it was useful. He immediately reached out, but a few fishing vloggers with only 5,000 followers were asking for 2,000 yuan per video, plus half-price fishing for their fans.

At the end of his rope and looking at the empty fishing ground, Li Shuai gritted his teeth and agreed.

But after two videos were released, they only brought in three or four customers. When he contacted the vloggers again, they turned around and cursed at him.

"What kind of reputation does your fishing ground have? Getting three or four people is already lucky. You're lucky I'm not suing you for damage to my reputation!"

Li Shuai didn't argue. What they said was the truth. He could only continue to search for a solution.

Unsurprisingly, spending those 4,000 yuan resulted in another lecture from his parents. As for those few new customers, under his parents' sour expressions, they naturally never returned.

"Hubby, look at Brother Wo Zi! I've been following him for a long time. Look, he's drawing locations for his fishing tour. If he comes here, the fishing ground will be saved!"

Hearing this, Li Shuai touched his wife's sun-blackened face with heartache. She was a girl who had suffered so much following him. Even her TikTok recommendations were all about Anglers; the voices of those beauty bloggers hadn't echoed in this room for a long time.

"Okay, let's enter the draw!"

Li Shuai opened the TikTok livestream room with his wife and started sending comments.

As it turned out, his wife won.

"Hubby!!! I won!!! Hahaha!!! Brother Wo Zi is coming here tomorrow!!!"

Li Shuai was also excited, rushing out of the room with his phone to tell his parents the good news... The next day, Gao Xiaofan yawned and shook his head, looking at the comments in the livestream room.

Last night, in order to go to bed early, he had promised to start the stream first thing this morning. So, he was woken up by his alarm, washed up, and started the livestream.

He glanced at the viewer count; it was decreasing. When the BGM was playing last night, there was indeed a slight increase in viewers, but it had dropped again later.

When he woke up this morning and started the stream, there were only about 200,000 people online. Although the number was still climbing, the speed was getting slower. After all, everyone had work; they only had free time in the evening.

"Today I'm taking you all to eat something delicious—egg turnover. Hehe, isn't that an interesting name?"

"I only heard about it yesterday, but it's really tasty. We'll head downstairs in a bit to show you. After breakfast, we'll head to..."

Gao Xiaofan trailed off, his mind going blank. Damn it, he forgot the name.

"518 Fishing Ground," Qiu Gu whispered beside him.

"Right, 518 Fishing Ground. Let's go get breakfast first."

After searching for a while, they found another stall. However, it was different from yesterday's; today's mold was clearly a size larger, and the price was also more expensive at 5 yuan each. Gao Xiaofan still ordered four.

"Want to add Weilong?" the owner asked without looking up.

Gao Xiaofan was dazed. "Huh?"

"Want to add Weilong? The spicy strips."

Gao Xiaofan was completely bewildered. He remembered that what he ate yesterday was sweet. Why was it savory at this stall?

Savory was one thing, but adding spicy strips??

"Hey, add them for me. Add them to my two," Qiu Gu said expectantly.

Gao Xiaofan glanced at him. Who said I was giving you two?

"Then add them to all of them, boss."

Not only was Gao Xiaofan confused, but the livestream room was also baffled.

"egg turnover is such a strange name. It turns out there are so many things in this world I haven't eaten before~"

"Sigh~ adding spicy strips... Any brothers from Yuchuan care to explain?"

"It's delicious! Just add them. Add some lettuce and chili sauce too."

"Doesn't that just make it an Egg-filled pancake?"

Gao Xiaofan watched the comments and waited happily. Before long, they were ready. Looking at the egg turnovers, which were a circle fatter than yesterday's, he didn't know for a moment which one was the authentic version.

He couldn't wait to take a bite. Whoa, what a unique sensation.

Today's version was soft on the outside, lacking yesterday's crispiness. However, the texture of the spicy strips inside was very chewy, offering a different kind of flavor.

But if he had to choose, he'd still go with yesterday's version. The crispy texture was more appealing to him.

Today's was really big; his stomach was almost full after eating just one.

"It's alright. The savory one is indeed a bit better, but it's not very crispy. I think it's not as good as the one I had yesterday."

"Of course, none of that matters. What matters is that I've tried something new again."

"Emotional value outweighs all minor details~"

The viewers in the livestream room were amused by Gao Xiaofan's words.

"Got it, Brother Wo Zi! If I get the chance to go, I'll definitely try it!"

"Tsk tsk, Brother Wo Zi has so many life insights. I learn something new every day."

"If you're so good at talking, then say more!"

After finishing, Gao Xiaofan took a sip of water and accepted a cigarette from Qiu Gu. After lighting it, he took a satisfying puff.

This guy ate really fast. Perhaps it was a habit from working at iQiyi. Before he had even finished one, Qiu Gu had already polished off two.

Glancing at the comments, Gao Xiaofan's curiosity was piqued, and he sat up straight.
