192: Are you treating cooks like soldiers?
"The guest from yesterday left today as well. Now, the three of you are the only ones left in the guesthouse."
Chen Gang said as he walked. Little Orange suddenly lunged forward, clinging to Chen Gang like a koala.
"What delicious food did you cook for dinner?"
Chen Gang pulled her off and looked at Little Orange with a helpless expression.
"You're a grown woman now, do you still think you're a little girl? It's cooked, it's cooked. How could I not follow your orders?"
Gao Xiaofan and Li Yuer both laughed, and Qiu Gu also pushed open the door while carrying the large Black Carp.
"Oh, right, Brother, look at this fish. What should we do with it?" Little Orange asked hurriedly.
"Whoa, such a big Black Carp?" Chen Gang looked surprised.
"Hmph, impressive, right? Sister Yuer caught this!" Little Orange said proudly. Those who didn't know better would have thought she was the one who caught it.
"We were originally going to release it, but an accident happened, so we brought the fish back," Li Yuer said with a smile.
"Since the food is already cooked, let's save it for tomorrow," Gao Xiaofan remarked, then began looking around.
"Oh, Brother Xiaofan, stop looking. They're definitely in the private room!" Little Orange giggled at Gao Xiaofan's behavior and skipped ahead to lead the way.
On the third floor, the three of them followed the siblings. Looking at the suite in front of them, they were surprised—it was a genuine suite.
A large round table was covered with dishes, and the air conditioning was blasting warm air into the room.
"This... Brother Gang, this is way too lavish!"
Gao Xiaofan stood with his mouth wide open; there had to be more than a dozen dishes.
"Heh, there wasn't much to do this afternoon. Besides, there are no other guests. These were all ingredients prepared beforehand, so I figured I'd just use them up so they don't go bad."
Chen Gang scratched his head and spoke nonchalantly.
Gao Xiaofan smiled. Not even considering the refrigerator, even without one, the food wouldn't spoil outside in this cold weather.
They were all young people, so there was no formality. No one argued over who should sit in the seat of honor; they all just found a random spot and sat down.
"Want some alcohol?" Chen Gang stood up and looked over.
"Just a little," Gao Xiaofan gestured with his hand. He guessed they would be drinking baijiu.
He glanced at Qiu Gu and nodded. "Brother Gu, you should have some too."
The two girls poured themselves drinks. Although the drinks were cold, the room was so warm that everyone took off their coats after a while.
"Come on, cheers!" Little Orange stood up and raised her glass high.
...After eating for half an hour, Gao Xiaofan leaned back comfortably in his chair. He was stuffed. Especially that pork intestine pot—the sweet and savory flavor was amazing. He also got to eat authentic Annan Stinky Mandarin Fish. He was satisfied.
He looked at the others at the table. Li Yuer and Little Orange were huddled together chatting. Qiu Gu and Chen Gang, who had started out sitting opposite each other, were now sitting side-by-side. Their conversation was non-stop, the alcohol was flowing, and they were already on their second bottle.
As for Gao Xiaofan, he still had half a small glass of liquor left, and even that made him feel a bit lightheaded.
He stood up and went to the restroom. When he returned to the room, he saw everyone running out one by one with bewildered expressions.
"What's going on?"
"I don't know, I just followed them out," Qiu Gu shook his head, looking dazed.
"Go, go, go! Let's go see the commotion!"
Seeing the two of them standing there in a daze, Little Orange grabbed them and rushed downstairs.
"Slow down, slow down. I've been drinking, I'm a bit dizzy."
Hearing Gao Xiaofan's voice, Qiu Gu glanced at him and silently took the stairs two at a time... Soon, several of them were huddled inside the car, looking excited.
"Is this that Wu Qiuqiu's guesthouse?" Gao Xiaofan leaned against the car window, smoking a cigarette and watching the scene with curiosity.
It was a three-story building about the same size as Lakeside Cottage. Above the door were four characters: Autumn Water One Color.
A group of people in blue uniforms were going in and out of the guesthouse, and wails could be heard from inside from time to time.
"Yeah. What's happening, Brother?" Little Orange sat in the passenger seat, excited but also a bit confused.
"I don't know either. Kunzi messaged me saying Wu Qiuqiu was being inspected by the Bureau of Industry and Commerce, so I came over."
Chen Gang was also unclear and spoke in a daze.
Hearing this, Gao Xiaofan exchanged a look with Qiu Gu, who was squeezed in the middle. It seemed this was related to what happened that afternoon.
"Brother Gang, since you don't smoke, why don't you sit in the middle? I want to have a cigarette too," Qiu Gu said. Being squeezed made it inconvenient to smoke, and he couldn't see the show clearly.
After Qiu Gu said that, the three men simply got out of the car and squatted by the roadside to watch. Only Li Yuer and Little Orange remained in the front seats.
All three men had been drinking, so Li Yuer was the one driving tonight.
The Industry and Commerce officials moved quickly. Before long, several Staff Members got into their cars and disappeared. Only Wu Qiuqiu was left standing dejectedly at the entrance.
Seeing that the show was over, they were about to leave. But just as they got into the car, another car sped toward them from a distance.
Before they could react, another group in different uniforms marched into the shop under Wu Qiuqiu's stunned gaze.
"Is that the fire department?" Gao Xiaofan scratched his head and pulled another cigarette from his pocket.
"Probably," Qiu Gu said, sounding uncertain.
"He must have offended someone," Chen Gang shook his head with a look of pity.
A few minutes later, the three of them were back to squatting by the roadside, watching the show.
"Stop your business operations. Rectify the issues first. We've put up the seal for you."
This time, the onlookers heard clearly since the conversation was right at the door. The three of them looked at each other. Gao Xiaofan couldn't help but feel a lingering fear. Luckily, those two 'Fat Balls' this afternoon thought he was just a tourist. If they had known he was close with Little Orange, who knows what kind of trouble they would have caused.
"Hey, big brothers, please don't put up the seal. Give me some guidance, give me some guidance." Wu Qiuqiu acted like a grandson, his attitude humble to the point of almost kneeling.
But the uniformed men ignored him completely. They put up the seal, turned around, got into their car, and sped away.
At this point, Wu Qiuqiu could no longer hold himself up. He leaned against the door and slowly slid down.
The group shook their heads and prepared to get in the car. There shouldn't be anything else to see; the guesthouse was sealed.
The soul-shaken Wu Qiuqiu heard the noise over here and looked over. When he saw Chen Gang and the others, he found strength from somewhere and rushed over with bloodshot eyes.
"Chen Gang!!! Is this your doing?!!!"
The three of them were stunned by the shout, but Chen Gang reacted quickly, pulling Gao Xiaofan and Qiu Gu back.
Ten seconds later, Wu Qiuqiu was lying on the ground, clutching his waist in pain and writhing like a maggot. Chen Gang, standing nearby, clapped his hands.
"Wu Qiuqiu, you really don't think Cooking Soldiers are soldiers?"
"You... cough cough." Wu Qiuqiu had a stomach full of words but couldn't speak. Chen Gang's over-the-shoulder throw just now had knocked the wind out of him, leaving him gasping.
