10: Desert oasis, clear out monsters!

With the blessing of Thunder Breathing, Xia Qi's running speed was like a phantom, swift as the wind, leaving a trail of sparks and lightning.

In less than ten minutes, the seemingly distant Oasis was already within reach.

Along the way, Xia Qi also easily eliminated several waves of Lizard Elders, his experience reaching 6th Rank (10.00%) progress.

Deactivating Thunder Breathing, he walked towards the Oasis at a normal pace, clearing monsters along the way, and soon arrived at the edge of the Oasis.

In the desert, an Oasis is also known as the Spring of Life; in reality, it would certainly be a habitat for monsters.

As expected, Xia Qi looked up and saw a dense swarm of Lizardmen, most of them 8th Rank Lizard Elders.

These monsters, with their strong territorial instincts, surprisingly appeared to be coexisting peacefully in front of the Oasis.

Just by looking, Xia Qi roughly estimated that there were hundreds of monsters gathered.

At this point, Xia Qi felt that he hadn't come for nothing.

This place was simply a leveling treasure trove set up just for him.

It's likely that even the designers of the dungeon never imagined that this intentionally created place, meant to make students retreat in the face of difficulty and learn that only by surviving can they grow, would unexpectedly benefit Xia Qi.

Nine Heavens Thunderclap!

He charged into the monster crowd, his Demonic Bone Armor covering his entire body, Xia Qi's eyes blazing with lightning, unleashing his ultimate move without a word!

Boom!

A tremendous roar exploded, and even the air felt scorched.

By the time these originally harmonious Lizardmen, happily living together, discovered Xia Qi, it was already too late.

In the desert, due to the dry air, electrical ions conduct faster, making the power of thunder a devastating weapon here.

Almost without any effort from Xia Qi to gather it, all the surrounding lightning surged into his body at an extremely fast speed; in an instant, Xia Qi felt the wondrous sensation of controlling the energy of heaven and earth.

Endless elemental lightning power was continuously condensing and colliding at an alarming speed.

Zzzzt!

High-frequency electric arcs began to vibrate around Xia Qi, simultaneously erupting with crackling sounds.

The next moment, the energy reached its peak and began to spread outwards, covering a hundred-meter radius.

Boom!

Deafening roars filled the air; a hundred-meter radius was directly transformed into a thunder Hell, descending upon the human world.

In an instant, the Lizard Elders suffered a catastrophic disaster.

They didn't even have time to pray for rune words, nor did they have time to swarm forward and eliminate the invader before them.

They didn't even have a firm grip on their machetes before they were blasted and whipped to death by the dense lightning clusters, until they became charred corpses.

“Awesome, truly awesome!”

Seeing his experience points soar, with countless experience notifications appearing, Xia Qi, for the first time fully unleashing Nine Heavens Thunderclap, found the sensation exhilarating and addictive.

Looking around, within a hundred meters, corpses lay everywhere, and even the fish in the Oasis water were flipped over, floating on the surface with their bellies up.

With this single strike, hundreds of Lizardmen died, leaving the ground scarred.

Looking at the survivors in other areas of the Oasis, those Lizardmen who were still chattering and contemplating which female lizard to 'do things' with today were completely stunned by this heaven-sent Divine Might.

They collectively petrified, staring with incredulous eyes at the area where Xia Qi was.

“Heh heh, if you don't move, then I'll come to you.”

With Thunder Breathing active, Xia Qi exhaled a puff of white air and charged towards another group of Lizardmen.

Outside the dungeon, the setting sun was low, the afterglow like blood.

From nine in the morning when the dungeon was entered, to five in the afternoon now, eight hours had passed.

Wang Changyuan and all the homeroom teachers were sitting on small stools, waiting; no one had left.

When thirsty, they drank tea; when hungry, they had the cafeteria deliver food.

It was like this almost every Awakening Day; it was a unique day.

The beginner dungeon had, to the greatest extent possible, ensured the safety of the students, but there was no absolutely perfect design in the world, and no one could guarantee that no accidents would occur to the students.

In battle, injuries are unavoidable; monsters are not humane and won't call a doctor to treat you if you're injured.

In the past few decades, it was not unheard of for people to die.

As a school, they naturally couldn't be completely at ease; teachers and the principal had to personally supervise.

“I hope nothing happens; every Awakened will be a force in the future.”

Wang Changyuan said with emotion; having served as principal for over a decade, what he least wished to see, of course, was the death of a student.

“Principal, you don't have to worry. These kids nowadays are clever; those with weak Talent know to team up to level up, so no accidents will happen.”

“It's still early; there are still a few hours before the dungeon ends. Why don't you go back and rest, Principal? We can handle it here.”

“Yes, Principal, isn't your wife waiting for you to come home for dinner? You should go back first.”

The homeroom teachers of each class spoke up, urging Wang Changyuan.

“As principal, I should lead by example. The children haven't come out yet; what kind of appearance would I make by leaving now? No more talk.”

Wang Changyuan waved his hand, rejecting the teachers' suggestions, his gaze intently fixed on the dungeon entrance.

The reason he stayed here was also because of Xia Qi!

This S-Rank Talent from a commoner background, he wondered what Rank he would reach today.

Rank Five should be no problem; if he could reach Rank Six, then for Xia Qi and Su Yuanchen's bet, he wanted to help.

The significance of an S-Rank Talent's favor to First High School in the future goes without saying.

“Eh, someone's coming out?”

“Let me check the time; it's only eight hours and a few minutes. No one should be out yet.”

“Could something have gone wrong? The beginner dungeon has been running for over a decade; has it finally had an issue?”

“Quick, see who it is and ask what happened.”

The homeroom teachers, who were watching, saw a figure through the dungeon entrance.

The beginner dungeon had two entrances and exits: one in the deepest part of the dungeon, where a teleportation gate could be found after crossing the desert.

The other was the original entry point into the dungeon, from which one could enter and exit.

Teams lacking strength, if they felt leveling was hopeless, could exit from the original entrance to avoid accidents.

Xia Qi calmly walked out from the teleportation gate in the depths.

After the light dissipated, he was surrounded by a group of homeroom teachers.

“Eh, Xia Qi from Class Four, why are you out?”

“What's going on? It's only been eight hours; even you couldn't handle it?”

“No way, an S-Rank Talent couldn't possibly fail the beginner dungeon, unless he encountered an 8th Rank monster.”

“Quick, tell us what happened.”

Xia Qi paused, then said, “Uh, the monsters were all killed, what else could I do but come out?”

Killed them all?

The homeroom teachers: “???”

As soon as he said this, the teachers present were stunned.

What did he mean?

The next second, a homeroom teacher's eyes widened in horror, exclaiming, “Everyone look at Xia Qi's Rank!”

Everyone's gaze simultaneously darted over.

[Xia Qi, Rank 7]
