98: Are you here to cheat your father?

“It seems you’ve already figured it out. That’s right, to deal with Void Creatures, the ability to fly is essential.”

Hearing General Hu’s explanation, Xia Qi nodded.

Those who went to deal with Void Creatures back then were either high-Rank Professionals or possessed the ability to fly.

General Hu continued, “Of course, there are other items that grant flight besides fairy wings, but fairy wings are relatively easier to obtain.”

“Originally, we had calculated the time and location of Fairy Island’s appearance, but we didn’t expect it to spawn within Sakura Country’s territory, which nearly led to the failure of this Trial.”

“However, thanks to you, you rendered great service in this Trial.”

“At Shengjing University, merits are always rewarded. Tell me, what reward do you want? I’ll try my best to satisfy you.”

General Hu rambled on for a long time, but only the last sentence got to the point.

The reward was the reason he was called here.

“Since that’s the case, then I’ll speak?”

Xia Qi smiled and looked at General Hu.

“Go ahead.”

“Give me a thousand bottles of Talent Potion.”

As his voice fell, General Hu, who was drinking tea, sprayed tea everywhere.

“How many?”

His eyes widened, as if he had misheard.

“A thousand bottles.”

Xia Qi’s smile grew brighter. Opportunities to proactively make demands like this were rare.

General Hu looked at Xia Qi with a strange expression, “Do you know how much a thousand bottles of Talent Potion cost? The official price is one billion, and in the black market, it can sell for four billion.”

“You little brat, you’re not really taking me for a fool, are you?”

“This request won’t work, change it.”

General Hu wiped the corner of his mouth, placed his teacup on the table, and adopted an unyielding attitude.

Xia Qi thought for a moment, “Then reward me with ten middle-level rune reset stones.”

Since the Talent Potion couldn't be given, then he would ask for some Rune Reset Stones; he could always farm dungeons to earn money and buy them himself.

“Ten, and Intermediate ones?”

General Hu shot up from his chair, “Do you know how valuable a middle-level rune reset stone is? Even Elementary ones are hard to buy, let alone Intermediate ones.”

“You’re asking for ten at once now. Are you sure you’re not messing with me?”

What General Hu said was true. Rare items like Rune Reset Stones couldn't be bought in the black market, let alone other exchanges.

“Then tell me what to reward, I’m fine with anything.”

Xia Qi spread his hands helplessly.

“Look, do you want Advanced Materials or equipment?”

Xia Qi shook his head.

“How about I make an exception and reward you with flight equipment made from fairy wings?”

After hearing this, Xia Qi shook his head again.

These things were optional for him and had no practical use.

For flying, he could achieve it using his Divine Lightning or Divine Wind Talents.

General Hu was speechless with Xia Qi. He didn’t want this, he didn’t want that, so what should he reward?

Yet, he was the one who told Xia Qi to make a request, and he couldn't fulfill a single one.

After a moment of thought, General Hu gritted his teeth and said, “Alright, then the academy will reward you with fifty bottles of Talent Potion, and I’ll personally reward you with fifty bottles.”

“As for Rune Reset Stones, although you have made contributions, it’s not enough to exchange for a middle-level rune reset stone.”

“How about this, I’ll give you a mission, and if you complete it, I’ll help you get one.”

Hearing General Hu’s promise, Xia Qi’s eyes lit up, “Okay, it’s a deal.”

He had originally planned to give up, but he still managed to get a hundred bottles of Talent Potion, which was already a great gain.

As for the Rune Reset Stone, doing a mission was not difficult for him.

Seeing Xia Qi smile, General Hu was amused by him, “You little brat are truly a shrewd one. You knew I couldn’t back down, so you intentionally made such demands, didn’t you?”

“No, no, I really just said it casually.”

Xia Qi certainly wouldn’t admit it, otherwise, if General Hu went back on his word, he would lose out.

“Alright, don’t get too happy too soon. This mission has a Rank requirement. You need to raise your Rank to 22 before you can undertake this mission.”

“As for how to raise your Rank, I won’t say much more. Director Chang is an expert; just listen to him.”

After speaking, General Hu didn’t linger and left directly.

Without a doubt, he was probably going to get the Talent Potion for Xia Qi.

Before leaving, General Hu also left his phone number for Xia Qi, telling him to contact him once he reached Rank 22.

After General Hu left, Director Chang finally sat back in his own seat.

He looked at Xia Qi with a smile.

The relationship between General Hu and Xia Qi was too unusual; he could tell at a glance.

Moreover, Xia Qi, with the surname Xia, was probably also related to Professor Xia Dongliu.

After learning of this connection, Director Chang looked at Xia Qi with even more eagerness than he looked at his own son.

He enthusiastically invited Xia Qi to sit down, “To level up quickly, the fastest way is definitely to solo dungeons.”

“However, soloing dungeons is difficult and dangerous. Most people only clear normal dungeons at most. For higher difficulties, teamwork is often required.”

“But in that case, the experience gain is not as good as soloing.”

“Besides soloing dungeons, you can also look for elite monsters in the wild, and there are many such places in the capital.”

“However, relatively speaking, the competition is also fierce, and there are many independent Professionals in the wild, often leading to disputes over territory.”

“There are also some wild bosses that can provide a large amount of experience. Some wild bosses even give more experience than dungeon bosses.”

“However, such wild bosses are basically monopolized by Professional Guilds, making it difficult to snatch bosses from the guilds.”

.....

Director Chang talked a lot, but the most reliable method was still soloing dungeons.

Farming wild monsters required searching everywhere and competing with Professionals, which could easily lead to conflicts, often resulting in incidents like killing for treasure or killing to snatch monsters.

Xia Qi wasn’t afraid, but he wasn’t bloodthirsty either. Those people were already farming wild monsters, so there was no need to compete with them.

Director Chang spoke for a long time, a full ten minutes.

Seeing that Xia Qi had no reaction, he was also parched.

“It seems War God Hu Jun was right; your demands are indeed not low.”

“How about this, give me your student card, and I’ll arrange everything for you.”

Xia Qi handed over his student card, and Director Chang quickly processed the procedures for him, while also handing Xia Qi a special teleportation stone.

“This is the Home of Dungeons’ Teleportation Stone.”

“Within the Shengjing University area, you can use it to teleport into Shengjing’s exclusive Home of Dungeons.”

“If you want to level up quickly, go there.”

Xia Qi nodded. The Teleportation Stone was worth a thousand points and was deducted on the spot.

This was Shengjing University’s rule: fair trade, no such thing as a free lunch.
