233: First entering the temple
Although this monster's body was incredibly agile, its physical structure made it difficult to turn around.
However, when the Elemental Power directly struck its back, there wasn't a single mark of injury.
Its back was incredibly hard, covered with an armor-like shell.
It looked like skin, but it was extremely tough.
However, just as Xia Qi had previously thought, it was very difficult for this monster to dodge attacks to its back.
Thus, he immediately launched a second attack.
If he had enough power, it might truly be effective.
Lingxu Sword!
Xia Qi aimed his attack at the monster's back, and the Elemental Power on his sword shone brightly.
He aimed at the monster's back and struck.
This time, he himself moved behind the monster and directly slashed its back.
Xia Qi felt as if he was striking steel, emitting crisp clanging sounds.
Xia Qi then immediately retreated, not giving the monster a chance to attack.
He discovered that the previous attack had already had a significant effect; cracks had appeared on the monster's back.
At the same time, a pale green liquid seeped out from those cracks.
It seemed his previous idea was indeed correct.
If he continued to attack, he should be able to kill this monster in front of him.
Just as Xia Qi was full of confidence and preparing to strike again to finish off the monster, the monster swung the long spear in its hand, and the surrounding Sand began to gather on its body.
When the Sand floated to its wound, it actually repaired the cracks that had already appeared.
It looked exactly like before, with no trace of injury whatsoever.
This was the most tormenting aspect of this Sand God Temple.
Many professional players were literally worn down and died in this dungeon.
Therefore, most teams would choose two support players, and this was the reason.
After several more probes, Xia Qi discovered that the previous Elemental Power had no effect on this monster.
Perhaps Xia Qi's current strength was still a bit weak, so it couldn't have too much of an impact.
If he continued to drag it out, Xia Qi was worried that someone would surpass him.
Although there would still be competitions later, he had to secure his entry.
He didn't know the situation of others, so he could only increase his dungeon clearing speed.
“It seems I have to finish it in one go.”
This recovery certainly couldn't be used indefinitely, but he couldn't afford to delay.
After all, the elimination rate here was very high, and if he wasted time here, he might miss out on the finals.
In previous professional player competitions, there were many strong individuals who failed to qualify.
Xia Qi didn't want to be one of them.
He took a deep breath, and the Elemental Power within his body began to surge frantically.
He needed to concentrate all his strength into this one strike, to definitely eliminate the monster in front of him in one go.
Otherwise, if it had a chance to catch its breath, all his previous efforts would be in vain.
Its astonishing recovery ability would likely cost Xia Qi a lot of time.
Xia Qi's eyes became firm and cold; he seemed to transform into a sharp sword, ready to pierce the monster's vital point.
He gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, and the Elemental Power within him surged into the sword like a torrent.
Lingxu Sword!
This time, he held nothing back, pouring all his strength into this one strike.
The sword light flashed, as if it could tear through space, heading straight for the monster's vital point.
Xia Qi's figure became ethereal, and the sword in his hand became blurred.
It was as if countless swords were superimposed on each other.
The monster also seemed to sense Xia Qi's unusual state at this moment; it swung the long spear in its hand, attempting to block Xia Qi's attack.
However, Xia Qi's attack speed was simply too fast; it had no time to react.
Just as it swung its long spear, Xia Qi, with a ghostly movement, appeared before the monster.
The sword light flashed, directly piercing through the monster's body and slicing it in half.
The armor on its chest completely split open.
There was also a clean cut, with its flesh and blood exposed inside.
Even its head had split open.
The monster's body fell to the ground, and traces of blood seeped into the Sand.
The blood was green, staining the Sand.
Seeing that the monster did not revive again, Xia Qi finally relaxed.
Xia Qi breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed it wasn't as difficult as he had imagined.
Under his full power, this monster could only be killed.
He just didn't know how the others were doing now.
However, he should already be faster than most people now.
At least, that's what he thought.
However, he did not relax his guard because of this.
Because he knew this was just the beginning of the competition, and the real challenges were yet to come.
Although some people would certainly be eliminated here, the strength of this monster would not stop those who truly needed to deal with it.
Xia Qi had to manage his time well, as he didn't know what lay ahead.
Meanwhile, others in the dungeon were still struggling against this monster.
Some, because they chose too high a difficulty, couldn't cope with this situation at all.
As a result, they could only crush the scroll and exit the dungeon.
And more people were still fighting hard against this monster.
Everyone knew that they had to defeat this monster to have a chance at the finals.
Having finally reached the finals, how could they give up here?
Without giving it their all, how would they know if they could enter the finals?
While they were fighting this monster, Xia Qi had already begun to enter the next area of the dungeon.
He arrived at the main entrance of the Sand God Temple dungeon.
Soon, Xia Qi entered the core area of the Sand God Temple.
As soon as he pushed open the temple's main door, Xia Qi heard footsteps.
He quickly and vigilantly scanned his surroundings, only to find the temple interior dim and empty.
Only a faint beam of light shone down from above, barely illuminating a portion of the ground.
The footsteps seemed to come from deeper within, and Xia Qi gripped his sword tightly, cautiously advancing in the direction of the sound.
As he delved deeper, the temple's interior decorations gradually became visible.
Complex patterns were carved on the walls, seemingly narrating ancient stories.
A faint scent of Sand permeated the air, making one feel somewhat suffocated.
Suddenly, a cold gust of wind swept through, and Xia Qi's body trembled slightly. He vigilantly raised his head.
He saw a figure leap down from above, landing in front of him.
It was a giant Sand Scorpion, covered in a hard shell, its sharp tail stinger gleaming with a cold light. Its eyes were blood-red, seemingly flashing with anger, as it launched a fierce attack at Xia Qi.
Xia Qi quickly dodged, simultaneously swinging his sword in counterattack. The sword light collided with the Sand Scorpion's stinger, producing a harsh metallic clashing sound.
Soon, Xia Qi found the Sand Scorpion's weakness.
