1: Chapter 1: Awakening a Bizarre Physique at the Start
On the job change platform, Lin Muyang held his breath and focused, listening to the clear notification sounding in his mind.
"Class confirmed... Summoner!"
The light gradually faded from beneath his feet, revealing his slightly surprised face.
Summoner?
This result seemed pretty good?
He took a deep breath, suppressing the surging thoughts in his heart. Under the gazes of his classmates—some envious, some curious, and some with a hint of jealousy—he walked down the platform with steady steps. No great ecstasy could be seen on his face, only a calm that didn't quite match his age.
No one knew that the soul occupying this young body at this moment came from another world. He had been on this planet called Blue Star for a full eighteen years. The long time was enough for him to completely understand and integrate into this both familiar and strange world.
This was a turbulent era of universal class changes!
About a hundred years ago, countless secret realms and Dungeons emerged worldwide without warning. These alien spaces contained not only opportunities but were also occupied by countless cruel and bloodthirsty monsters. Most terrifyingly, every secret realm had a time limit for completion. Once a human team failed to challenge it successfully within the specified time, the secret realm's barrier would collapse, and the monsters inside would pour into the real world like a tide, bringing destruction and disaster.
To counter this survival crisis, all humans must participate in a class change ceremony after turning eighteen, obtaining a class and embarking on a path of continuous leveling and becoming stronger.
Warriors, Mages, Assassins, Archers, Priests, Blacksmiths, Spirit Planters... Hundreds of classes, large and small, could be roughly divided into combat classes for charging the front lines, support classes for providing assistance, and lifestyle classes for logistics. Like precision gears, they worked together to maintain the operation of human society and build a defense line against monsters.
And among all classes, the Summoner was undoubtedly one of the high-profile, powerful classes at the top of the pyramid!
Of course, the potential of a Summoner was immense, but the key to their strength largely depended on exactly what partners they could summon. A Summoner who could only summon small animals was worlds apart from one who could summon a giant dragon in terms of status and future.
All in all, Lin Muyang was satisfied with being able to change classes to a Summoner. At least, it was definitely not one of those ordinary classes biased towards support or logistics that played a role on the fringes of the battlefield.
He walked straight toward a figure who had been waiting below the platform.
It was a young woman wearing a well-tailored black professional suit skirt, with a tall posture and a cold temperament that carried a hint of hard-to-detect concern. She was Su Qingyue, a newly hired teacher at Zhongnan City First High School, and also the class teacher of Lin Muyang's class. This was her first year teaching, and she had encountered the major event of the graduating class's class change.
"Teacher, my class is Summoner," Lin Muyang reported respectfully as he walked up to her.
"Summoner?" A flash of pleasant surprise instantly crossed Su Qingyue's clear eyes.
A Summoner actually appeared in the class she led? This was definitely an unexpected joy!
However, she quickly calmed down. While the prospects for a Summoner were certainly broad, for an individual, it also depended on their innate constitution. The constitution determined what kind of existence a Summoner could establish a contract with and was the cornerstone of their future path.
Some Summoners possessed a "Nature Affinity" constitution, making it easier to communicate with flowers, plants, and trees to summon plant-type partners; others had a "Beast Communication" constitution, allowing them to summon various wild animals to fight alongside them. These types of constitutions were relatively common, and their initial combat power was often limited. Without special opportunities, their development prospects might not even be as good as some solid combat classes.
But there were also some favored children of heaven who were born with a "Dragon Blood Pact" constitution, able to summon young dragons from the start with infinite potential; or those with an "Ancient Echo" constitution, capable of communicating with lost time and space to summon terrifying legendary creatures like young Behemoths or even Titans!
Compared to traditional combat classes, these top-tier Summoners were truly fearsome existences once they grew up. Imagine, while other class holders were still relying on their own strength to fight, a high-level Summoner could already command an army composed of powerful otherworldly creatures! For every ten levels gained, they could contract one more summon slot. At the peak of their level, with dozens of powerful servants moving out together, what kind of overwhelming scene would that be?
Of course, behind the power was a staggering investment. The resources required to cultivate a single top-tier summoned creature were already massive; to cultivate an entire summoned army, the consumption was enough to discourage most people and factions. It could be said that the Summoner was a path for the strong with an extremely high ceiling but also one covered in thorns.
"Lin Muyang, since you have successfully changed classes to a Summoner," Su Qingyue suppressed the expectations and considerations in her heart and took out a fist-sized, pure white stone from an exquisite storage pendant around her neck, inside of which mist seemed to be flowing. "Now we need to test your innate summoning constitution. Place your hand on this 'Source-Tracing Stone' and just relax your mind."
Looking at his class teacher's encouraging and searching gaze, Lin Muyang couldn't help but feel nervous. This was the critical moment that would determine the starting point of his Summoner career!
The surrounding classmates could no longer contain their curiosity and gathered around, whispering.
"Wow! Lin Muyang is actually a Summoner! That's so lucky!"
"Is our class going to be famous this time? Maybe a future big shot will emerge!"
"He's usually quite capable, and now that he's a Summoner, he'll be even more incredible."
"Don't jump to conclusions. If it turns out he has the kind of constitution that can only summon dandelions or squirrels, then that would be a real joke..."
"Exactly, whether a Summoner is strong or not depends on their constitution!"
Under the focus of many gazes, Lin Muyang slowly reached out and firmly pressed his palm onto the warm "Source-Tracing Stone."
The stone felt slightly warm to the touch, as if some invisible energy was gently pulsing. The moment his palm made contact, the mist inside the Source-Tracing Stone began to flow faster. Immediately after, several strange and complex symbols appeared on the surface of the stone, emitting a faint, indescribable colored light.
"Hmm? These symbols..." Su Qingyue focused her gaze, her beautiful brows furrowing slightly, a look of confusion appearing on her face. She considered herself knowledgeable about various common and even some rare Summoner constitution symbols, but she found the patterns appearing on Lin Muyang's test stone very unfamiliar.
Not daring to be careless, she immediately took out a copy of a special, yellowed ancient book from her storage pendant—"Origins of the Myriad Summoning Illustrations." This book was practically an encyclopedia for Summoners, recording most summoning constitutions that had appeared in history and their corresponding symbols.
She flipped through the pages quickly and carefully, her gaze darting between ancient illustrations and text descriptions, trying to find a record that matched the symbols on the test stone. The onlookers didn't even dare to breathe, craning their necks, all wanting to be the first to know what kind of peculiar talent this new Summoner possessed.
As time passed minute by minute, Su Qingyue's flipping slowed down. Suddenly, her finger stopped on a certain line of ancient notes and an abstract pattern next to it. After cross-referencing the symbols on the test stone several times, her expression became extremely strange, and even the corner of her mouth twitched slightly.
She looked up, gazing at the expectant Lin Muyang with a complex look, and announced in a tone filled with a bit of uncertainty and disbelief:
"According to the records and comparisons in the 'Illustrations'... Lin Muyang, your special summoning constitution, if the ancient text translation is correct, is named—Friend of Beautiful Girls?"
"..."
The entire scene instantly fell into a bizarre silence.
"..."
Lin Muyang felt as if he had been struck by a silent thunderbolt, his mind going blank.
Friend of Beautiful Girls? What kind of bizarre constitution name is this?
He subconsciously recalled his past experiences. Indeed, from childhood to adulthood, he seemed particularly prone to gaining the favor and trust of female classmates. His popularity had always been good, and he was even jokingly called an "opposite-sex attraction magnet" by some friends... But he had always thought this was mainly due to his decent looks and okay personality.
Could this really be some kind of special talent?
But what does this talent have to do with being a Summoner? Could it be...
An absurd thought that made his heart tighten emerged uncontrollably.
He swallowed hard and, with a final sliver of hope, asked in a dry voice, "Teacher Su... then, what exactly can I summon with this Friend of Beautiful Girls constitution?"
Su Qingyue also seemed unsure how to explain in detail. She somewhat helplessly handed the "Origins of the Myriad Summoning Illustrations" to Lin Muyang and pointed to the page she had just found.
"The specific summoning scope... is hard to describe. Take a look at this illustration yourself; perhaps you can get a more intuitive... er, more peculiar understanding."
With immense trepidation and great curiosity, Lin Muyang took the heavy ancient book, his gaze falling on the page Su Qingyue was pointing at.
On the yellowed page, besides those hard-to-read ancient text annotations, there was also an illustration with simple yet exceptionally vivid brushstrokes. When he saw the general content depicted in the illustration, Lin Muyang's eyes instantly widened, and his expression completely froze.
