6: Chapter 6 Some Strange Halo
Unfortunately, Lin Muyang's gaze only lingered on that fleeting glimpse of snowy white for less than a second before the sharp-sensed Elf Maiden immediately sensed something was wrong.
"Eek—!"
Lilia let out a short cry of alarm. Her small face, already flustered from floating, instantly turned beet red like a ripe apple. With great shame and indignation, she fiercely and swiftly reached out both hands, death-gripping her disobedient, fluttering hemline and pressing it firmly against her thighs, tightly covering any potential exposure.
"You... you shameless human! What on earth did you do? Why can we both fly?" While tightly guarding her skirt, she couldn't help but look at Lin Muyang with eyes full of curiosity and suspicion. He was also floating in the air with a leisurely and contented expression. This method of flight, which defied her understanding, was completely different from the flight spells in elven magic, leaving her both confused and harboring a secret trace of longing.
"Don't ask. If you must know, it's because your master is omnipotent," Lin Muyang replied lazily, his tone tinged with a bit of playfulness. He withdrew his gaze with some regret; after all, beautiful scenery is always fleeting.
Then, with a snap of his fingers and a slight thought, he deactivated the [Power of Wind Sufficiency] Aura.
The pale green wind elements swirling around them vanished instantly. Lin Muyang was well-prepared; his body sank slightly, and his legs easily stepped onto the solid floor, landing steadily with clean and agile movements.
But Lilia on the other side was in for a rough time.
She was fully devoted to the "career" of battling her skirt and gravity, completely failing to anticipate that the force supporting her flight would suddenly disappear!
"Waah!"
The moment she lost the lift of the wind power, she felt her body grow heavy. Amidst her startled cry, she fell butt-first onto the cold, hard floor without any cushioning, landing with a solid thud. Although her elven constitution prevented her from being injured, the sudden impact and her pathetic posture caused immense psychological damage.
"Waaaaah!!!"
The pain in her bottom and the accumulated grievances and shame in her heart erupted instantly. Thick mist filled Lilia's azure eyes once again. She hugged her knees, buried her burning cheeks in them, and let out whimpers like a small animal, her shoulders shaking slightly.
She felt a wave of despair.
It had been less than an hour since she was summoned to this strange human world! In this short time, she had experienced gravity oppression, full-body vibrations, physical punishment, and now a sudden fall... Several times she had been on the verge of crying from anger or grievance.
Could she really get along with this master? The ancient texts of the Elf Race clearly recorded warm, mutually supportive partnerships. Why had it completely changed when it came to her?
At that moment, Lin Muyang ignored the self-isolating Elf Maiden on the floor and walked alone to the balcony outside the living room.
He lived on the sixteenth floor. Looking out from here, he could see most of the scenery of Zhongnan City. Tall buildings stood in rows, streets crisscrossed, and in the distance, he could see lush green parks and a shimmering artificial lake.
"Though the feeling of flying is indeed great..." Lin Muyang rested his hands on the railing, feeling the breeze at this height, "but in the city, flying freely at high altitudes is strictly prohibited in streets and all public airspace. There are City Enforcement Teams on patrol. If caught, the fine is a small matter, but attracting unnecessary attention would be troublesome."
He looked down at the street below; the vehicles and pedestrians had become as tiny as ants. A slight sense of vertigo hit him.
"And... this height really is a bit scary," he muttered to himself. "Even though I can fly, I've only just started mastering it. If I mess up the controls or get suddenly distracted and lose control from this high up... then tomorrow's headline in the 'Zhongnan Daily' might be: 'Shocking! Summoner Falls to Death in City Center; Is it Moral Depravity or Lack of Ability?'"
On second thought, forget it. For safety and to keep a low profile, it's better not to fly around the city for now.
"At the very least, I need to raise my level first. With higher stats, my vitality and defense will be stronger. Even if I do accidentally fall, the survival rate will be much higher..." He found a seemingly reasonable excuse for himself.
While Lilia was still calming her emotions, Lin Muyang once again immersed his consciousness into the vast list of the [Supreme Halo]. He needed to understand the potential of his cheat more systematically.
The number of Auras was truly overwhelming, a dazzling array that made one's head spin. At a rough glance, they could be divided into over a dozen major categories based on their functions: Combat Enhancement, Defense and Protection, Auxiliary Buffs, Weakening Curses, Special Functions, and even a... Life and Leisure category?
Lin Muyang, with a hint of curiosity, clicked into the [Life and Leisure] Aura section that seemed somewhat out of place.
After just one look at the specific items inside, he froze, his expression becoming extremely strange.
What on earth are these things?
[Refreshed and Energized (God-Tier Aura)]: Upon activation, significantly increases energy recovery speed and fatigue elimination efficiency. Effect: Energy recovery speed +1000%. (Note: Stay up for seven days and seven nights straight and still be full of energy!)
[Sturdy and Unyielding (God-Tier Aura)]: Upon activation, greatly enhances physical strength, endurance, and sustained combat capability. Effect: Stamina limit +500%, Stamina recovery speed +500%, High-intensity exercise endurance +1000%. (Note: Challenging the limits? This is just a warm-up!)
[Sensory Resonance (God-Tier Aura)]: Upon activation, slightly enhances a designated target's perception sensitivity to external stimuli. Effect: Target's sensitivity to touch, temperature, etc., increases by 1000%. (Note: A light touch of the fingertip feels like crashing waves? Please use with caution!)
As Lin Muyang read the descriptions of these Auras, the corners of his mouth couldn't help but twitch violently. He subconsciously looked back into the room at the Elf Princess Lilia, who had just climbed up from the floor and was carefully tidying her skirt, then looked back at the Auras on the light screen whose effect descriptions were more "subtle" than the last.
He seriously suspected whether the designer of his so-called [Supreme Halo] talent had some sort of special fetish. Why did it feel... a bit improper?
Is this really a God-Tier talent meant for fighting and becoming stronger? Why does it look more like it was tailor-made for some kind of unspeakable "happy life"?
He shook his head, quickly tossing these messy thoughts out of his mind. Now was not the time to study these.
When Lin Muyang returned from the balcony to the living room, Lilia had already stood up again. Relying on an elf's persistence regarding appearance, she had once again groomed her beautiful long silver hair until it was smooth and lustrous. However, the way she looked at Lin Muyang was still full of vigilance and a trace of hard-to-detect grievance.
"Finished tidying up? It's time to set off." Lin Muyang looked her up and down and nodded with satisfaction.
If nothing else, Lilia's looks, figure, and temperament were absolutely top-tier! Any internet celebrity or star would pale in comparison to her. Having such a summoned creature by his side gave him quite a sense of accomplishment.
"Set off? To where?" Lilia stood up reluctantly, patting away non-existent dust from her skirt.
"Nonsense, of course I'm taking you to level up and improve your strength." Lin Muyang said as he walked toward the door. "Don't dawdle, follow me."
In this Blue Star world where everyone undergoes a class transfer, there are usually stable spatial nodes around cities that periodically refresh with secret realms or Dungeons suitable for low-level Class Transferees to train in. Around Zhongnan City, there were two recognized low-level areas.
One of them was about a dozen kilometers away from where Lin Muyang was renting, and the transportation was fairly convenient.
Every secret realm or Dungeon that refreshes in the real world has a time limit for completion. If a team of professionals fails to successfully challenge it within the specified time, the monsters lurking within will break through the spatial barrier and flood into reality, causing destruction and chaos.
Fortunately, after over a hundred years of development, many powerful individuals have emerged in human society, and a complete defense and emergency mechanism has been established. Monsters emerging from ordinary low-to-mid-level secret realms are quickly cleared by the City Defense Forces or high-level professionals who rush to the scene, making it hard for them to cause a major stir.
Therefore, for a new Class Transferee like Lin Muyang, the leveling environment was relatively safe. They only needed to go to a designated low-level Dungeon area, find a suitable Dungeon entrance, and enter either in a team or alone to kill monsters. This would allow them to gain experience points, level up, and have a chance to obtain materials and equipment.
"Today is the unified Class Transfer Day. Those two low-level Dungeon areas should be packed with new transferees right now," Lin Muyang calculated in his mind. "The competition might be a bit fierce."
However, he wasn't too worried. Other transferees usually spent a lot of time finding suitable teammates, balancing class compositions, and discussing loot distribution when doing Dungeons. But he didn't need any of that!
With a heaven-defying cheat like the [Supreme Halo], he could just activate a ten-times attack Aura like [Indestructible] and apply it to Lilia. That would be enough for her to crush all current low-level Dungeons. Acting alone was more efficient, and all experience and loot would belong to him alone without needing to share.
Soon, Lin Muyang led the Elf Princess—who was full of curiosity yet still harboring a bit of a temper—out of the rental house and into the building's elevator lobby.
He reached out and pressed the down arrow button on the wall.
Lilia stood somewhat stiffly behind him, her nimble blue eyes curiously scanning this narrow and unfamiliar space. The smooth metal panels on the walls and the square light fixture on the ceiling emitting soft white light were all very novel to her.
"Ding—"
With a soft chime, the elevator reached their floor, and the silver metal doors slid open to both sides.
Lin Muyang stepped inside with natural, smooth movements.
However, Lilia stood at the door, hesitating and not daring to follow. She looked at the small, enclosed metal space inside the elevator with eyes full of distrust.
"This... what is this?" she asked softly, her feet rooted to the spot.
"This is called an elevator. It's a... well, a magic lifting platform," Lin Muyang thought for a moment and used an explanation she might find easier to understand. "It can take us downstairs quickly without the trouble of taking the stairs."
He didn't laugh at her. After all, for an Elf Princess from another world who might still be at a level of civilization similar to the Middle Ages, modern technological products were indeed beyond her scope of knowledge.
"Ele... elevator? Will lightning come out of it?" Lilia was stunned, a trace of fear appearing on her face. Looking at that cramped space, she instinctively felt a bit oppressed and uncomfortable, and her heart was very resistant to stepping inside.
"You're the one who'll emit lightning..." Lin Muyang was a bit amused by her peculiar train of thought, but he still explained patiently, "It's very safe and won't discharge electricity. Come in quickly."
He kept his hand blocking the elevator door to prevent it from closing. But Lilia still hesitated, and because the door was blocked for so long, the elevator emitted a "beep beep beep" warning sound.
Lin Muyang had no choice but to use his authority as a Summoner again, directly issuing an order: "Lilia, come in."
Driven by the power of the contract, although Lilia's face was written with a hundred layers of reluctance, her body still moved uncontrollably. She took somewhat stiff steps and cautiously entered this "steel box" that was the elevator.
When the elevator doors slowly closed, completely cutting off the light from outside, Lilia clearly became even more nervous, unconsciously leaning closer to Lin Muyang.
Immediately after, the elevator vibrated slightly and began to descend smoothly.
This sudden sense of weightlessness and vibration gave the Elf Princess, who had never had such an experience, a fright!
"Ah!"
She let out a low cry subconsciously and almost instinctively reached out both hands, tightly grabbing Lin Muyang's arm beside her as if it were her only reliance. Her slender fingers turned slightly white from the force, and her entire body was tensed up.
Lin Muyang felt the warmth and slight trembling coming from his arm. He glanced sideways at the Elf Maiden who had her eyes tightly shut with a "ready to die" expression, and couldn't help but find it a bit funny, yet he also felt a strange sensation.
