304: Chapter 305 The Power of the Undead Legion

Inside the Shadow Maze secret realm, Lin Muyang was leisurely sipping the herbal tea Lilia had brewed, listening to the young ladies chatting softly. Feeling the distress signal and external imagery transmitted by Kandas, he raised an eyebrow slightly.

"They certainly reacted quickly," he said, setting down his teacup in a flat tone, as if he had only heard of a trivial matter. The fact that the opponent could intercept Kandas so precisely and dispatch three powerhouses over level 400 showed that Stanro City, or rather the emissary from that Holy City, indeed had some tricks up their sleeves. However, that was all there was to it.

"Jialiya." Lin Muyang looked at the Necromancer young lady sitting quietly to the side, nibbling on a snack.

"Hmm?" Jialiya raised her head, her pure blue eyes looking up at him. She still had a small piece of pastry in her mouth, her cheeks slightly puffed out like a cute little hamster.

"There is a little trouble outside. Go out and handle it."

"Make it quick, don't make too much noise, and don't let a single one escape."

"Okay~!" Jialiya nodded obediently, quickly swallowing the pastry in her mouth and brushing off non-existent crumbs from her hands. She stood up, her petite figure radiating a calm Aura that belied her appearance.

Instead of walking toward the entrance of the secret realm, she lightly leapt backward.

Hum! Her figure, like a reflection merging into water, instantly became blurred and transparent, penetrating directly out from inside the secret realm! This was the effect of the dual Void and Divine Concealment Aura that Lin Muyang had bestowed upon her.

Outside the secret realm.

Just as Virgil and the others were becoming impatient and preparing to seize Kandas or even directly search his soul, a sudden change occurred!

Kandas, whom they had firmly locked onto, suddenly vanished from the perception and sight of everyone! It wasn't high-speed movement, nor was it invisibility; it was as if he had been erased from the world by an eraser, leaving not a trace behind!

"What?!" Virgil's pupils shrank, and alarm bells rang in his heart. Being able to make someone vanish into thin air while surrounded and locked onto by him, two other powerhouses of the same level, and so many elites—this was definitely not something Kandas could achieve on his own!

"Watch out! There is…" the burly man holding a heavy sword shouted sternly, but before he could finish, his voice stopped abruptly.

Because, all around them—above their heads, beneath their feet, and in every direction—countless figures had appeared without warning!

They were Necro Dragons with skeletal frames and eye sockets burning with ghostly blue soul fire! Each one unfurled tattered bone wings, massive in size, emitting an Aura of cold, death, and soul-trembling dread! There were well over a hundred of them, surrounding this forest clearing so tightly that not even a drop of water could pass through!

What was even more hair-raising was that on the back of every Necro Dragon, a squad of Skeleton Mages and Skeleton Archers stood in formation, wielding bone staves or bone bows, with the same ghostly blue flames flickering in their hollow eye sockets. And in the center of each squad stood a Necro Lich, draped in tattered robes, holding a bone scepter, with an even deeper and more terrifying Aura!

Over a hundred Necro Dragons, thousands of Skeleton Mages and Skeleton Archers, over a hundred Necro Liches! This suddenly appearing, terrifyingly large Necro army was like a torrent of death crawling out from the nine-nether hell, instantly counter-surrounding the elite squad from Stanro City!

Dead silence. Absolute silence enveloped this area. Even the sound of the wind seemed to have vanished.

Virgil, the burly man with the heavy sword, the old woman in black robes, and all the elites they had brought were frozen in place, all color drained from their faces, their eyes filled only with boundless fear and disbelief.

When that dense, cold, death-Aura-radiating Necro army appeared without warning in every direction, surrounding the entire forest clearing, all the Stanro City powerhouses, including Virgil, fell into a brief moment of mental stagnation.

The scene before them completely exceeded the scope of their cognition. Necro Dragons, Skeleton Mages, Skeleton Archers, Necro Liches... these undead creatures that only existed in ancient forbidden records or terrifying legends were now appearing before them in army-sized numbers, alive and real!

The ghostly blue soul fire flickering in the eye sockets of every Necro Dragon, the subtle friction sounds emitted by every skeletal frame, and the death energy gathering on the scepters of every Necro Lich were all silently testifying to one fact: they were surrounded, surrounded by an undead scourge capable of forcing any floating city to prepare for war!

Virgil was a top-tier powerhouse, after all, having experienced great storms. After the initial shock, his survival instinct instantly overwhelmed everything else. Fight? Are you kidding? Just feeling the energy fluctuations radiating from those Necro Liches told him that each one was no weaker than him! Not to mention those over a hundred Necro Dragons and thousands of the skeleton army!

Run! Must run immediately!

"Space…" Virgil roared, almost screaming, trying to tear open a spatial channel. At least three rays of different colored teleportation light instantly lit up on his body; they were all precious life-saving items or skills.

However, at the very moment his skill was about to take effect, the young lady hovering above the largest Necro Dragon moved.

Jialiya wore a simple long dress, her short hair fluttering slightly in the pervasive Necro Aura. She possessed a pure, flawless, and exquisite face, and her blue eyes were like the clearest lake water, but at this moment, those eyes lacked even the slightest emotional fluctuation belonging to a human, calm to the point of being chilling.

She raised her fair, slender right hand and lightly pointed her index finger at the panicked crowd below.

"Soul Imprint."

There was no chanting, no complex spell-casting movements. There wasn't even a powerful energy fluctuation.

But as her cold, youthful voice fell, a strange power—invisible and intangible, yet seemingly capable of acting directly upon the deepest parts of the soul—rippled out like water waves, instantly sweeping over the twelve people from Stanro City led by Virgil!

Thump! Thump! Including Virgil, the entire elite squad of twelve members, all over level 200, with three powerhouses over level 400 among them, suddenly became stiff as if their bones had been removed simultaneously, and the light in their eyes rapidly dissipated! The light of the skills they were half-casting extinguished, the scrolls and items they had half-drawn dropped to the ground, and their bodies remained in the posture of preparing to fight or flee just a moment ago, but their consciousness seemed to have been dragged into an endless Dark Abyss, losing all control over their bodies!

The mythic grade skill "Soul Imprint" was Daji's signature control skill. Originally a powerful single-target control, under the blessing of Lin Muyang's unreasonable skill sublimation and other God-Tier Aura effects, it had now become a terrifying group control skill when cast by Jialiya! Area coverage, forced effect!

"This… impossible!" The only one still able to think, or even barely maintain a sliver of vision, was Virgil, who had the strongest mental power. He felt as if his soul had been shackled by cold, heavy chains, and no matter how desperately he struggled, he could not shake them in the slightest. He could only roar in despair in the depths of his soul. Who was that young lady? How could she possess such terrifying mental attributes and skill priority? To be able to control all of them at once, including a powerhouse of his level? How high of an attribute suppression would that require?!

He desperately urged the soul defense secret technique he had cultivated for hundreds of years, burning his mental power, attempting to break through those invisible soul shackles. He could feel that this control was not absolutely invincible; with his strength, if he were given three or five seconds, he might be able to forcibly break free!

But Jialiya did not give him that chance.

The young lady's pure blue eyes looked at Virgil, who was struggling violently on the soul level, as if looking at an insect caught in a spiderweb, still flapping about. She raised her hand again, this time rubbing her middle finger and thumb together lightly.

"Yamas Secret Incantation."

An even deeper, more obscure, and chilling power, as if from the very bottom of the Nine-Nether Yellow Springs, crossed space and accurately struck Virgil's soul just as he was about to break free.

"Urghhh—!" Virgil let out a silent, shrill scream on the soul level. He felt his mental power, which he had just gathered to charge at the shackles, collide with an ancient, unmeltable mountain of black ice and instantly collapse! Not only that, the chilling power, like maggots on rotten bones, coiled around his soul origin, making his thoughts become sluggish and cold, and the glimmer of hope for escape he had just seen was completely extinguished.

The "Yamas Secret Incantation" shared from Gui Wanwan specialized in attacking the soul and was impossible to guard against. Even though Jialiya was not an expert in this path, the high priority of the skill itself, combined with the terrifying mental attributes she currently had from the Aura blessings, was enough to deal with Virgil, who had been controlled first and was forced into a hasty defense.

From the appearance of the Necro army, to Virgil and the others being collectively controlled by "Soul Imprint," to Virgil having his hope completely snuffed out by the follow-up strike of "Yamas Secret Incantation," the entire process took no more than two or three seconds. The elite squad from Stanro City had gone from being hunters to lambs waiting for the slaughter.

Jialiya no longer looked at them, as if she had completed some trivial step. She waved her little hand lightly.

"Kill." The command was concise and clear.

The next instant—the Necro army, which had long been ready, erupted!

Boom! Boom, boom, boom! From the tips of the Skeleton Mage corps' bone staves, Shadow Bolts, Bone Spears, and Corrosive Orbs poured down like a black rainstorm! The ghostly green ghost-fire arrows shot by the Skeleton Archers tore through the air, emitting shrill shrieks! The Necro Liches waved their scepters, death ripples spread silently, curses of aging enveloped the entire field, and wraith shrieks struck directly at the soul! The massive Necro Dragons opened their skeletal maws, and the grey-white Withering Dragon Breath washed down like a waterfall!

The storm of death spells instantly submerged the twelve stiff, unmoving figures. The light of the explosions merged into one, swallowing their forms. There were no screams, because those controlled by "Soul Imprint" could not make a sound. There was only destruction, pure and efficient destruction.

The storm of spells came quickly and left quickly. It lasted for less than ten seconds. When the last wisp of Withering Dragon Breath dissipated and the last wraith returned to nothingness, silence returned to the field. The smoke and dust and the lingering death energy slowly dispersed.

The clearing where the twelve powerhouses had originally stood was now completely empty. There were no corpses, no remains, and not even many traces of battle. The ground looked as if it had been cleansed by the most thorough purification spell, leaving only a patch of slightly darkened scorched earth, and a strange, thick, un-dissipatable Aura in the air, mixed with the burnt smell of arcane energy and the sense of nothingness after soul annihilation.

The elite investigation squad from Stanro City, personally led by Virgil and including two deputies over level 400, had melted away instantly before this suddenly descended Necro army, like snow under the sun, leaving no proof of their existence in the world. Everything happened too fast, too suddenly, and with too much overwhelming force.

Kandas, who was hiding under the protection of Lin Muyang's Divine Concealment Aura and slumped on the ground, had a blank mind, his mouth hanging open unconsciously, and his eyes wide open, as if they were about to pop out of their sockets. His face was devoid of color, his body was shaking violently uncontrollably, and cold sweat had completely soaked his undergarments.

What had he seen? Lord Virgil, that powerhouse in Stanro City who had the final say and profound majesty, along with the entire elite squad he brought, were just gone like that? Like a speck of dust brushed away casually, easily erased by the undead army summoned by that young lady in less than half a minute?

"This… this how is this possible?" Kandas's voice was hoarse and dry, filled with incomparable horror and a sense of absurdity, "That lord, his level is clearly not high, otherwise he wouldn't be able to enter that kind of low-level secret realm… but anyone who comes out from under him… just, just…"

He was incoherent, his thoughts in chaos. Lin Muyang could enter low-level secret realms, meaning his level definitely wasn't high; this was the rule of the secret realm. But how could someone with a low level have subordinates with such terrifying strength? That Necro army, that effortless group control and follow-up kill, the attribute suppression and skill intensity displayed, definitely reached level 500 or above, or even a higher standard! This completely defied common sense!

Could it be that that lord had mastered some method that transcended the rules of the world, allowing him to perfectly hide his true level and strength? This guess made Kandas shudder.
