7: Chapter 7 Lilia's Motion Sickness
The soft touch and slight warmth from his arm caused an unusual ripple in Lin Muyang's heart.
"This feeling is actually quite nice," he thought to himself.
It seemed that the special constitution of "Friend of Beautiful Girls" truly brought tangible "benefits." He couldn't help but feel lucky that he had this constitution and had summoned a beautiful Elf Maiden. If he had summoned some muscular Orc brute reeking of sweat, or some eerie and terrifying undead creature... the image was so vivid he hardly dared to imagine it.
The Elf Princess Lilia before him might have a bit of a tsundere personality—one could even say she was quite tsundere—but aside from that, whether it was her impeccable, peerless beauty, her perfect bodily proportions, or her pure and ethereal temperament, it was all enough to make one overlook those minor flaws.
"As for personality, that can always be slowly guided and refined over time," Lin Muyang maintained a good mindset. "The key is that these base conditions are top-tier! Just looking at her is a feast for the eyes."
Overall, he was quite satisfied with his first summoned partner. This also filled him with anticipation for the new partners he could summon when he reached Level 10 and Level 20 in the future.
According to the rules of this world, a Summoner unlocks a new summoning slot and can contract a new summoned creature every 10 levels. Furthermore, the contract between a Summoner and a creature is at the soul level; even if a summoned creature unfortunately "dies" in battle, they don't truly perish. Instead, they return to their original world, and after a period of cooldown, they can be summoned again. This greatly reduced cultivation costs and worries about the future.
"My first draw was an s-rank talent Elf Princess. This luck... is just so-so, barely a passing grade," Lin Muyang evaluated himself internally. "I wonder what kind of surprise the next summoning slot will bring when I reach Level 10?"
If other Summoners knew what he was thinking, it would likely provoke countless indignant denunciations, calling him ungrateful or the personification of humble-bragging. An s-rank talent summoned creature was something many Summoners dreamed of but could never obtain! Many Summoners might only have a C-rank or even D-rank as their first summoned creature in their entire lives. Even those famous Summoners known for summoning giant dragons would find that their first summoned hatchling's talent grade would reach A-rank at most.
Moreover, the growth curve of an Elf Princess was usually excellent, capable of forming significant combat power in the early stages, making her far more practical than a hatchling that required a long time to grow. Furthermore, with an Elf Princess where beauty and strength coexisted, whether fighting side-by-side or in daily interactions, how could the experience compare to those hatchlings that only knew how to eat and sleep? Once cultivated, there were so many things she could do...
As Lin Muyang's thoughts drifted, the elevator smoothly arrived at the first floor.
With a soft "ding," the elevator doors slowly opened.
Lilia, who had been tightly clutching Lin Muyang's arm with her body tense, saw the bright, spacious lobby outside—so different from before—and her nervous emotions were instantly replaced by wonder.
She cautiously let go and stepped out of the elevator, unable to resist looking back at that magical "iron box" and then up at the high ceiling, her sapphire-like eyes filled with disbelief.
"This thing... is amazing! It actually sent us down from such a high place so quickly!" she marveled in a low voice. She was clever, after all, and quickly realized this must be similar to the "lifting platforms" driven by magic or machinery in her home world, though the design and principles seemed much more sophisticated and efficient.
When Lin Muyang led her out of the building and onto the internal roads of the residential complex, Lilia seemed to realize her previous behavior had been a bit unseemly. She blushed slightly and quietly put a bit of distance between herself and Lin Muyang.
Just then, a middle-aged couple approached. Seeing Lilia's stunning face and unique elven features (pointed ears, silver hair, and blue eyes), they couldn't help but show expressions of surprise.
The husband whispered to his wife, "Whoa, young people these days really know how to have fun. This cosplay looks so real! This elf girl is way too pretty, isn't she?"
The wife pinched him irritably and lowered her voice, "What do you know? Today is Awakening Day. Didn't you see the young man next to her? He obviously awakened as a Summoner and summoned an elf partner! Don't act like you've never seen the world!"
Although the couple spoke softly, an elf's keen hearing allowed Lilia to hear everything clearly. On the surface, she maintained her princess-like poise, but once the couple had walked away, she quickly tugged on Lin Muyang's sleeve and asked curiously, "What is this 'cosplay' they were talking about?"
"It's 'role-playing'," Lin Muyang explained. "For example, an ordinary human girl, by putting on special clothes, wearing fake pointed ear props, and applying exquisite makeup, will look very much like an elf."
"Huh?" Lilia became even more confused, tilting her head as she asked, "Then why would they want to pretend to be us elves?"
"Because... in this world, many people find elves very beautiful and elegant, and they enjoy looking at them," Lin Muyang chose his words carefully while silently adding in his heart: "Especially men, most of whom are senior members of the 'Appearance is Everything' association..." Of course, he would never admit whether he was among them.
"So our Elf Race is that popular in your human world?" Lilia appeared somewhat surprised, even showing a faint hint of pride.
Looking at her innocent appearance, Lin Muyang felt it was necessary to give her a heads-up to prevent her from being deceived by ill-intentioned people due to her worldliness.
"Being popular is one thing," Lin Muyang adopted a serious expression and began his earnest teaching. "But you must remember, if any strangers come to talk to you in the future, especially those men, you absolutely must not easily believe what they say."
"And why is that?" Lilia blinked her clear, large eyes, her face full of confusion.
"Because..." Lin Muyang paused, using language as direct as possible, "No matter how sweet they talk, in essence, there's a high probability they just lust after your body."
!!!
Lilia was stunned at first, then two clouds of crimson quickly flew onto her fair cheeks. She seemed to understand something and let out a slightly annoyed hmph. "It seems that whether it's in our world or yours, most human males are not good things, are they~"
"Ahem," Lin Muyang added without changing his expression, "Except for me, of course."
?
Lilia cast a suspicious glance, sizing him up from head to toe. Coming from this guy's mouth, why did those words sound completely untrustworthy?
During the short walk from the entrance of the residential complex to the roadside, Lin Muyang and Lilia attracted a nearly one hundred percent turn-rate.
The gazes of all the passersby were drawn to Lilia's breathtaking beauty and unique elven Aura. People discussed them in low voices, and exclamations of wonder were heard incessantly.
"My god, this elf girl is way too beautiful, isn't she? It's like she walked right out of a painting!"
"Today is Awakening Day; this young man must be a Summoner, right? What incredible luck!"
"I'm so jealous! Starting off with an Elf Maiden—how cool will it be to take her out in the future!"
"Don't even talk about men; even as a girl, my heart is fluttering..."
Lin Muyang had long since grown accustomed to this kind of focus on Lilia. He remained composed, leading her along while turning a deaf ear to the surrounding chatter, heading straight for the busy roadside.
Standing by the road, Lilia's attention was immediately captured by the constant stream of vehicles. She watched curiously as those "iron boxes" of various colors with four wheels sped past, making a humming sound.
"What are these?" she asked, pointing at the cars.
"These are called cars; they're a type of transportation," Lin Muyang explained.
"They have wheels and run very fast..." Lilia observed for a moment, then suddenly had a flash of inspiration and said excitedly, "I know! Are they similar to the mounts in our world? Like reindeer or chocobos?"
"If you must make an analogy, they might be more like a... more comfortable and faster 'magic carriage' that doesn't need animals to pull it?" Lin Muyang tried to explain using concepts she could understand.
"Oh!" Lilia nodded, half-understanding. She showed a keen interest in this novel thing, her eyes shining with a desire to try it out. "Then... can I ride in this 'magic carriage'?"
"You want to ride in a car?" Lin Muyang was a bit surprised. His original plan was to activate the Wind-Riding Divine Movement Aura and run all the way with Lilia, testing the effect of the tenfold speed while he was at it.
"Mm-hmm!" Lilia nodded repeatedly, her face full of anticipation.
Seeing her look like a curious child, Lin Muyang's heart softened. "Alright then, I'll let you experience it."
He took out his phone, skillfully operated it a few times, and called for a ride-hailing taxi.
A short while later, a white sedan stopped in front of them. Lilia excitedly followed Lin Muyang into the back seat.
However, her sense of excitement vanished almost the moment the car door closed.
The relatively cramped space inside the car, mixed with the smell of leather, fragrance, and a faint, lingering scent of gasoline, made her feel somewhat oppressed and uncomfortable. Especially when the vehicle started to move and accelerate, and the scenery outside the window sped backward, an inexplicable sense of dizziness and nausea began to well up in her heart.
She furrowed her delicate brows, her face turning slightly pale, and her hands unconsciously gripped the edge of the seat.
Although she felt extremely uncomfortable, her proud nature made her embarrassed to immediately ask to get out—after all, she had requested the ride herself. She could only endure the discomfort, silently making a resolution: she would never ride in this strange "iron box" again!
Ten minutes later, the taxi arrived at the entrance of the Low-Level Dungeon Zone in the south of the city.
The vehicle came to a stop, and after Lin Muyang paid the fare, he was the first to get out. When he opened the door on the other side to call Lilia, he found the Elf Princess pale-faced and unsteady on her feet, requiring him to reach out and support her just to stand firmly.
Looking at this scene, Lin Muyang didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
He never expected that this Elf Princess from a world of magic and nature, who possessed an s-rank talent and could cast Holy Light... would actually get motion sickness?!
