334: Chapter 335 Subduing the Dragons of the Continent of Veros

In the Velos Continent, what has more symbolic significance and actual deterrent power than the Dragon Race?

They are totems of power, the pinnacle of mundane military force.

Lin Muyang's original plan was to persuade the various dragon clans of the Velos Continent with absolute strength, making them submit and form a covenant with the Sunlight Elf Clan.

The Dragon Race would dispatch their young and strong members to assist the Elf Race in stabilizing the situation and dealing with potential external threats.

This way, even if he and the young ladies left, the Sunlight Elf Clan would possess an aerial and strategic force sufficient to make any human empire think twice.

He had thought this would be a slightly troublesome process—dragons, after all, are always proud, fond of staying in their corners, living a retirement life of sleeping, collecting treasures, and occasionally stretching their muscles.

Getting them to mobilize on a large scale to serve other races would likely require some deep communication.

However, things progressed unexpectedly smoothly.

Shortly after the Necro Dragon army set out, Lin Muyang, accompanied by Lilia, Gui Wanwan, Feng Ling, and Jialiya—who had completed her initial mission and left some undead creatures to monitor the imperial capital—headed to the known major habitats of the dragons on the continent: the Ice Dragons valley in the Frostwhisper Mountains of the North, the Fire Dragon Cliff in the Dragonspine Archipelago overseas in the East, the Green Dragon Swamp deep in the southern rainforests, and the ancient Dragon Graveyard on the central Forgotten Plateau.

The process... could hardly be called a battle.

When Lin Muyang descended upon the Ice Dragons valley and merely released a trace of pressure belonging to a god-level existence, one that transcended the world's rules, the hundreds of Ice Dragons in the valley, including several sleeping ancient Ice Dragon elders, all scrambled out of their nests, crawling on the snow-covered cliffs, their massive dragon heads lowered, emitting long dragon roars that signified absolute submission.

They could clearly feel that within this seemingly insignificant human before them lay a terrifying power capable of easily wiping their entire race from the world.

It was a level they could neither understand nor contend with.

The same situation occurred at the other dragon habitats.

Feng Ling's Nirvana Fire and Phoenix pressure made the Blazing Dragons of Fire Dragon Cliff feel a tremor and awe originating from their bloodlines.

Gui Wanwan's extremely pure Nether Aura, which seemed capable of communicating with the Underworld, made the semi-undead Ghost Dragons and Bone Dragons in the ancient Dragon Graveyard feel a pressure that was of the same origin but higher in hierarchy.

Lilia's natural energy and life Aura made the Green Dragons of the rainforest feel a sense of closeness, but when she slightly revealed her terrifying strength enhanced by Lin Muyang's Aura, the Green Dragons wisely chose to submit.

The absolute, overwhelming gap in power made these proud behemoths quickly recognize reality.

In their long lives and inherited memories, there were records of "entities that cannot be opposed."

Submitting to such an existence was not a disgrace to dragons; on the contrary, it might be an opportunity for glory and rebirth.

Thus, in just one day, over seventy percent of the known dragon clans on the Velos Continent expressed their allegiance to Lin Muyang in their own ways.

After Lin Muyang clarified his request for them to assist the Sunlight Elf Clan in stabilizing the order of the continent, the dragons, though having no fondness for humans, were not repulsed by the Elves, a race that was similarly long-lived and close to nature.

More importantly, this was the order of that supreme existence.

In just two short days, for the Canglan Empire, which had a history of hundreds of years and vast territory, it was nothing short of a catastrophe that subverted cognition and reshaped order.

The royal Canglan family, which once symbolized supreme authority and took pleasure in conquest and enslavement, was uprooted, their bloodline severed, leaving not a single spark to reignite, like withered leaves swept away by a gale in a very short time.

Throughout the empire, from the core of the imperial capital to the border towns, all members flowing with royal blood—whether they were pampered princes and grandsons, border generals holding military power, or distant relatives hiding their names and attempting to survive—were turned into the dust of history under the ruthless and precise hunting of the Necro Dragons.

Replacing them and ascending to the pinnacle of power on this vast land was the Sunlight Elf Clan, which had once been regarded as prey, playthings, and objects of conquest by the empire.

This shift was so drastic and swift that it exceeded the limits of imagination for all sentient beings.

If the Sunlight Elf Clan had relied solely on its own troops and traditional nature magic to rule a human empire with billions of people, a complex internal structure, and one that had just experienced a dramatic upheaval, it would have been a pipe dream.

This vast territory was forcibly conquered by Lin Muyang and the young ladies under his command with near-divine power and handed over to the Elves.

Lin Muyang had originally worried that rule by the Elf Race would meet opposition from the commoners, but he did not expect that everyone had such a good impression of the Sunlight Elf Clan, who were always known for their kindness, that there were no voices of opposition at all.

When the first batch of Sunlight Elves, ordered to take over the imperial capital and surrounding strategic locations, led by Laigong and several elders, stepped into this center of human power that had once symbolized humiliation and threats with trepidation yet firmness, the honor guard following them left all witnesses—whether they were unwilling former human officials, spies from various forces watching in secret, or even the Elves themselves—in a state of long-term stupor and soul-level trembling.

It was dragons.

A sky-covering, truly massive number of dragons!

Dragon clans from all over the continent, representing different elemental powers and possessing ancient bloodlines and terrifying strength, gathered from all directions of the horizon like a pilgrimage, finally surrounding the Sunlight Elf delegation like the most loyal guards.

The first to arrive were the Ice Dragon tribe from the Frostwhisper Mountains in the North.

Over seven hundred adult Ice Dragons, their massive bodies covered in crystal-clear, pale blue scales that looked like they were carved from ten-thousand-year profound ice, refracted a cold and magnificent brilliance in the sunlight.

They spread their wings made of ice crystals and tough wing membranes, each flap bringing up bone-chilling cold winds and fine ice crystal snowflakes.

They silently hovered at a low altitude, their ice-blue dragon eyes calmly overlooking the ground below.

That majesty and indifference originating from the land of extreme cold made the midsummer imperial capital seem to return to the dead of winter in an instant.

The leading ancient Ice Dragons were particularly massive, with towering dragon horns, and their Aura was like a glacier that had never melted since ancient times.

Their mere existence caused space to slightly distort and froze the air.

Before the Ice Dragons had even landed, the eastern horizon had already been dyed a blazing golden-red.

The Fire Dragon tribe had arrived!

Over six hundred Fire Dragons, their bodies like flowing lava and burning flames, their crimson scales dragging long trails of fire as they flew, burning holes into the clouds.

Scorching heatwaves swept over, forming a sharp contrast with the cold air of the Ice Dragons.

A faint crackling sound rang out in the air, the result of energy agitation caused by the drastic temperature change.

The Fire Dragons let out low, powerful roars, the sound waves containing the will of explosion and destruction, but their flight formation was orderly, showing absolute discipline.

Immediately after, the southern sky was occupied by a deep dark green and gloomy black.

The Green Dragon tribe and Black Dragon tribe arrived together.

Nearly five hundred Green Dragons, their scales like the finest jade, flowing with rich life and natural Aura, and wherever they passed, the plants below seemed to glow with more vigorous vitality.

However, the cunning that occasionally flashed in their eyes and their mastery of toxins reminded onlookers that they were by no means just gentle forest guardians.

And over four hundred Black Dragons were like moving shadows and nightmares.

Their bodies were covered in matte black, heavy scales, their muscles bulging, full of pure power.

The strong winds kicked up by their dragon wings carried the scent of sulfur and metal.

Black Dragons are famous city-breakers and heavy infantry among dragons; their arrival symbolized the most direct physical destructive power.

Before people could recover from the shock of this collision of colors and attributes, long and sharp whistling sounds came from the western horizon.

The Wind Dragon tribe, over eleven hundred adult Wind Dragons, like a cluster of cyan lightning driving the gale, tore through the sky at incredible speed and arrived over the imperial capital in an instant.

Their bodies were relatively slender and smooth, their scales a clear sky-blue, and the edges of their dragon wings flowed with the radiance of airflow.

Wind Dragons are the absolute masters of the sky, synonymous with speed and agility.

Their joining meant that the Elf Empire would possess unparalleled air superiority and strategic mobility.

This was not all.

In the following time, smaller branches of dragons such as Thunder Dragons and Rock Dragons also arrived one after another.

In the end, the total number of dragons gathered under the command of the Sunlight Elf Clan reached over three thousand!

They were like suspended colorful mountains, covering a large part of the sky over the imperial capital.

Dragon might intertwined, elements surged, shrouding the entire city in a suffocating yet incredibly spectacular atmosphere like that of the mythological era.

For Lin Muyang, who stood at the pinnacle of power, these dragons might have been weak and of little use.

But on the Velos Continent, any adult dragon was enough to be an overlord, causing headaches for the elite legions of human empires.

An army composed of more than three thousand dragons... this was no longer military force; this was a natural disaster, an ultimate power capable of sweeping across the entire continent in a short time and causing any civilized nation to tremble and collapse!

And what made the Sunlight Elves, as well as all onlookers, feel even more incredible was that these proud, powerful, and long-lived legendary creatures showed astonishing respect and obedience to the Elf Race.

They did not show the arrogance mixed with contract constraints and subtle impatience that they did towards human Dragon Riders, nor the condescension common to other races.

When the Elves' commands were transmitted through a special spiritual link, the dragons would listen carefully and execute them meticulously.

They would lower their high heads when the Elves needed them to, restrain their rampant dragon might, and would even allow designated Elves to ride them.

The root of this attitude lay partly in the Dragon Race's innate absolute worship and obedience to the strong.

The level of power Lin Muyang displayed was an existence close to the rules themselves, which had not been clearly recorded in their long inherited memories.

Submitting to him was instinct, and also wisdom.

Part of the reason also lay in the Elf Race itself.

Elves coexist with nature, have long lives, behave elegantly, and pursue art and harmony.

These traits resonate with the aesthetics and habits of some dragons.

Historically, although the relationship between Elves and dragons was not common, it was generally peaceful, far from the conflicts that filled their interactions with humans, who were greedy, short-sighted, and often harbored intentions of conquest.

Of course, the most fundamental bond was still the existence of Lin Muyang and the young ladies beside him.

The dragons were very clear that these Elves were a clan protected by that supreme existence, or even one could say they were like relatives.

Disrespecting the Elves was equivalent to disrespecting that existence, and the consequences were unimaginable.

More than three thousand dragons became the most dazzling and heaviest scepter in the hands of the Sunlight Elf Clan.

This scene completely shattered the last trace of luck and wait-and-see attitude of other forces on the continent.
