Chapter 170 is about Master Jiang.

When the many gods who had been fleeing outward returned through the portal, Amaterasu Omikami was so moved she nearly wept with joy.

She hadn't expected these gods to have a change of heart and return to help her.

She swore that in the future, she would no longer treat them as consumables; treating them as slaves would suffice.

However, Amaterasu Omikami soon realized that something was wrong; things were not as she had imagined.

Why did these fellows look like they were fleeing back?

Could there be some terrifying existence in Ashihara no Nakatsukuni (the mortal world)?

Amaterasu Omikami found it hard to believe; who could be more terrifying than her and her kin?

Meanwhile, Susanoo looked at the kusanagi no tsurugi with a strange expression; he felt that the sword was exceptionally active today.

It was as if it had gained a life of its own.

However, the fact that it was being held tightly by Jianzhen's remains infuriated Susanoo.

The tyranny in his eyes was unconcealed as he suddenly threw a punch at Jianzhen's bones.

Jiang Chen, fighting in the distance, had a cold gaze; he suddenly turned and lunged toward Susanoo.

Seeing Jiang Chen so protective of Jianzhen's remains, Amaterasu Omikami made a split-second decision, ignoring her own injuries and ruthlessly moving to stop him.

High in the sky, that somewhat ethereal sun, which still illuminated all of Takamagahara, began to expand at a visible rate under Amaterasu Omikami's command.

Soon, someone realized that the sun wasn't expanding; it was rapidly falling toward the ground!

Like a massive fireball, its scale was nearly as large as Amaterasu Omikami's entire palace by the time it neared the ground.

Boom!

The terrifying heat of the solar orb turned the palace into charred dust the moment it touched it.

Such power made Su Baiwei, who had been focused on the Pipa in Amaterasu Omikami's hand, look over in surprise, a trace of wariness flashing in her eyes.

Though this might was only displayed by consuming the power of Takamagahara's laws regardless of the cost...

Amaterasu Omikami's strength was less than half of her prime, yet the technique she displayed now was almost on par with the Peak of the Bitter Sea.

However, although she watched, she had no intention of helping; intervening now was not the best choice for her.

Amaterasu Omikami simply extended her right hand, and the dazzling sun landed in her palm; illuminated by the radiance and her robe, she truly looked like a goddess descending upon the world.

As the sun fell into Amaterasu Omikami's palm, the entire world seemed to dim slightly.

What Amaterasu Omikami held was not a real sun, but the laws of this world—the manifestation of her authority!

Her authority was over the Sun and Light!

Then, Amaterasu Omikami suddenly swung the sun high and smashed it down fiercely toward Jiang Chen!

Like a falling sun, or as if the world itself were rejecting him, even if Jiang Chen wanted to dodge, he felt a sense of restriction—as if destiny had departed and the hero was no longer free.

This was the convergence of the world's laws, forcibly exerting pressure on him; while Jiang Chen could resist such laws, he faced the threat of the falling sun overhead.

Jiang Chen's first instinct was still to move and block the solar orb.

Boom!

The solar wheel smashed into the earth with almost no resistance, causing the entire island of Takamagahara, suspended in the air, to inevitably tremble.

Su Baiwei's eyes narrowed, and she suddenly retreated; if Jiang Chen died, she would have to face the Three Noble Children alone.

One must know that these native gods of the island nation did not welcome an outsider goddess like her, especially since she had usurped someone else's godhead.

"Is he dead?"

Amaterasu Omikami murmured; she believed that even in her prime, she might be injured by such an attack, let alone Jiang Chen.

She breathed a small sigh of relief, then couldn't help but let out a muffled groan.

Just now, to deal with Jiang Chen, she had almost completely ignored the Sword Qi inside her, resulting in significant internal damage.

But as long as the master of the Sword Qi was dead, they would become like rootless duckweed; with time, she could eventually wear them away.

Bang!

At that moment, Susanoo's fist also smashed heavily into Jianzhen's sternum.

The punch caused Jianzhen's remains to erupt with even more intense golden light, neutralizing much of the force from Susanoo's fist.

Susanoo, seeing this golden light, was annoyed to the extreme.

"You're already dead, do you still want to rise from the grave?!"

Susanoo roared and threw another sudden punch.

Bang!

This time, the golden light on Jianzhen's remains finally dimmed slightly under Susanoo's fist, yet it continued to flicker; the bones stood firmly in place, unyielding.

"Who do you think you are, a savior?"

Susanoo threw punch after punch at Jianzhen's remains, causing the golden light to flicker incessantly and grow increasingly dim.

Faintly, Susanoo could even hear the sound of sutra chanting coming from the remains.

"World-Honored One! This sun and moon wheel can be made to fall, and the king of Mount Meru can be made to shake; the words of the Buddhas are without error..."

"World-Honored One! There are sentient beings whose roots of faith are not complete; hearing of the Buddhas' profound practices, they think thus..."

Hearing these pervasive Sanskrit sounds, Susanoo grew even more infuriated, putting even more power into his fists.

Seeing Su Baiwei flee into the distance, Amaterasu Omikami did not stop her.

In her view, the greatest threat was this inexplicable mortal man; as for Tamamo-no-Mae, she could deal with her slowly after handling the matters of the gods.

But just as Amaterasu Omikami closed her eyes slightly to recover her Divine Power and wear down the Sword Qi, she suddenly snapped her eyes open, her expression changing as she looked beneath the solar wheel.

At that exact moment, the solar wheel trembled slightly; this vibration felt as if it had struck Amaterasu Omikami's heart directly, making her feel a momentary surge of trepidation.

In the next instant, she felt the solar wheel in her hand being lifted from the ground as if out of her control.

No matter how hard Amaterasu Omikami tried to press down, she couldn't stop the sun's upward momentum.

As the solar wheel was lifted, the originally golden sun seemed to be stained with a hint of crimson from below.

An ancient, mysterious, powerful, and noble aura began to drift through this world.

In an instant, whether it was the many gods present, Su Baiwei, or Xiangliu—who had one foot in Takamagahara and was about to enter—their expressions all changed drastically as they looked together toward the bottom of the solar wheel.

Across from Susanoo, Jianzhen's remains, which had been dim and lusterless, suddenly reacted upon contact with this strange aura.

Immediately, the golden light that was about to fade erupted once more, and the chanting grew clearer and more deafening!

To Susanoo's ears, it sounded like someone was screaming at the top of their lungs.

"World-Honored One! This sun and moon wheel can be made to fall, and the king of Mount Meru can be made to shake; the words of the Buddhas are without error..."

"World-Honored One! This sun and moon wheel can be made to fall, and the king of Mount Meru can be made to shake; the words of the Buddhas are without error..."

Amidst this deafening chanting, a voice so weak it was almost inaudible slowly spoke.

"Is it... Daoist Priest Jiang?"
