44: Chapter 44: Points are coming in as smoothly as money.

The smaller white fox charged out without hesitation; its high-speed sprint instantly stretched its body into a moving white dash.

Seeing this, Qin Ding made a prompt decision, charging forward with his spear alongside the Sha Jin Wolf, while Wan Kang followed at the rear, wielding his mace and Pink Pig.

"Drop the stuff and let's run!"

Drop the stuff and run?

Zhou Xiang dismissed this thought from his mind before it had even fully formed.

The enemy was already right in his face; whether or not to give up wasn't up to him. Once you choose to do certain things, it's fine if you don't get caught, but if you do, there's no turning back.

However, to the Sha Jin Wolf, stealing its spoils was a mortal feud, so it charged forward at the first opportunity, aiming to maul Zhou Xiang to death.

Out of the corner of its wolf eyes, it suddenly caught a glimpse of a medium-sized white afterimage rushing in from the side, clearly intending to obstruct it.

Instantly, the Sha Jin Wolf's inner rage flared up even further; the killing intent in those pitch-black wolf eyes seemed as if it could drip blood.

"Awoo!"

["Where did this little runt come from? Get lost!"]

Without dodging or attacking, relying on its tough physique, the Sha Jin Wolf turned like a truck, crashing directly into the Claw Cat that was charging straight at it.

With a dull thud, the Claw Cat was sent flying like a broken doll, letting out a shrill scream in the air. The Sha Jin Wolf only paused for a moment before continuing toward Zhou Xiang without any hindrance.

"So fast?!"

Seeing that Cao Yun's Claw Cat couldn't even hinder it, Zhou Xiang gritted his teeth, dropped the snake-skin bag he was holding, raised his standard machete, and slashed at the oncoming Sha Jin Wolf.

Duang~

The Sha Jin Wolf let out a short cry, casually swiping its wolf claw to snap the machete on its shoulder, and easily tackled Zhou Xiang to the ground.

The claws, which could easily slice through steel, now effortlessly crushed Zhou Xiang's ribs. The black-steel-like wolf claws sank deep into his flesh, gouging out five ghastly bloody holes.

Having grown accustomed to hunting, the Sha Jin Wolf expected its prey to show a terrified expression when easily tackled and wounded.

Yet, when it looked down and met Zhou Xiang's eyes, it saw no fear or panic, only the unwillingness of being caught and resignation.

A low wolf howl rumbled in the Sha Jin Wolf's throat. It couldn't help but lower its wolf head, carefully examining Zhou Xiang's expression, attempting to find any evidence that he was merely putting on a brave front.

Just then, Zhou Xiang's face flushed red, his eyes rolled back slightly, and blood spilled from the corner of his mouth.

His Beast, the Earth Rat, had died. Even with a Master-Servant Contract, when a Beast dies, the Beast Tamer suffers the backlash of the shattered contract—just like Li Dong, and just like Zhou Xiang now.

"Winner takes all, loser suffers the consequences; do whatever you want to me…"

Although Zhou Xiang was gritting his teeth to hold on, with foam at the corners of his mouth, he didn't yield an inch, remaining incredibly tough.

This behavior thoroughly infuriated the Sha Jin Wolf. Its pupils constricted; it found it hard to believe that the enemy, who could lose his life under its claws at any moment, dared to be this stubborn.

Just as it was about to deliver the killing blow and tear Zhou Xiang apart, a spear swept past first. Before Zhou Xiang could even see it clearly, he felt a pain in his right arm and saw his own arm flying in the air.

Thud. The severed arm landed beside Zhou Xiang's head, making his heart tremble with every beat.

Qin Ding slowly spun his spear, flicking the blood off the blade, and stared at Zhou Xiang with a calm expression.

"Your eyes tell me you've killed people, but that's no reason for you to be tough in front of me."

"If you're going to be a thief, just be a thief. Don't spout high-sounding words as if you're in the right."

"However, you were right about one phrase: winner takes all, loser suffers the consequences…"

After speaking, Qin Ding ignored the glaring and unwilling Zhou Xiang. He scanned the intact snake-skin bag, then his gaze fell upon the urea bag Chen Rui was holding.

Noticing Qin Ding's gaze, Chen Rui subconsciously wanted to hide the bag, but it was too late.

Qin Ding stared at Chen Rui and extended his left hand. "Hand it over."

"Your spoils of war now belong to me."

Chen Rui was unwilling and didn't move for a long time. Just then, Wan Kang, who had rushed over, spat and said, "Thieves acting tough now? Hand it over!"

Without any nonsense, Wan Kang strode forward and snatched the urea bag directly from Chen Rui's hands. As for the armless Zhou Xiang?

Wan Kang could only say that he had seen more bloody and violent scenes last night, so his brain's tolerance level had risen rapidly; this sort of scene could only be considered minor.

As soon as Wan Kang got his hands on the urea bag, he felt a slight heaviness. He blinked, then his pupils widened as he looked at Qin Ding, his face full of surprise and delight.

Hmm? Could it be some huge Beast head?

You have to know that the points in the Class Competition are determined by the size of the Beast head…

With the bag snatched away, no matter how unwilling Chen Rui was, he could only stare and watch, not daring to let out a peep. He even glanced at Cao Yun's Claw Cat, which had only just recovered enough from its injuries to walk back to Cao Yun step by step.

Better… not resist, right?

"What are you still standing there for? Take your boss and leave."

Having obtained the enemy's spoils, Wan Kang urged the three to leave in a very unfriendly tone. Chen Rui and Cao Yun finally came to their senses; one supported Zhou Xiang, while the other picked up Zhou Xiang's severed arm with a pale face.

Without looking back, they left rapidly as if fleeing.

"Is the stuff heavy? Open it and take a look."

Only after the three had left did Qin Ding look at the urea bag in Wan Kang's hands with curiosity. Wan Kang didn't dawdle either; he chuckled twice, crouched down, and untied the bag directly.

As soon as the bag was opened just a little, a foul stench instantly assailed their nostrils. Bai Muxue couldn't help but step back two paces, her narrowed eyes filled with intense disgust.

"What kind of Spirit Beast head is this? Why does it smell so bad?"

Qin Ding: "Hmm… it smells much worse than the black wolf head from last night…"

Wan Kang: "It is ridiculously smelly. Let me see what's inside…"

Covering his nose and mouth with one hand, Wan Kang opened the bag completely. What met his eyes were two Mountain Boar heads, followed by a mantis head the size of an infant's fist.

A total of three Beast heads.

"Whoa! Two Mountain Boar heads and one Emerald Mantis head. These two pig heads must be worth quite a few points!"

Seeing the items clearly, Wan Kang's eyes widened a bit. The things in this urea bag meant his chances of getting third place had greatly increased!

He just didn't expect that the group from earlier was actually quite capable, having managed to kill two Mountain Boars and one Emerald Mantis.

Wan Kang blinked, his eyes gradually brightening.

Looking at it this way, his third place was very hopeful!
