39: Chapter 39 The First Batch of Fortune 500 Buy-Installation (Part 1)

Over the next week, Li Xin was so busy his feet barely touched the ground.

Every morning at eight, he would arrive at the tech company to go over product progress with Yang Hong.

At ten, he would head to Xinyuan Capital to discuss recruitment and account opening matters with Li Jiayi.

In the afternoon, he would go to the logistics company to talk about expansion plans with Uncle Luo and Luo Maifa.

At night, he still had to find time to look at financial reports and research the market.

But he didn't feel tired.

In his previous life, he spent his days moving bricks on construction sites, working over ten hours a day, exhausted like a dog, earning only a few thousand yuan a month.

Now, even though he was busy for over ten hours a day, he was earning tens of millions, even hundreds of millions.

This kind of tiredness was a fulfilling tiredness, a tiredness with a clear goal in sight.

On Friday afternoon, Li Jiayi called: "Li Xin, the company registration is complete, and the corporate account has been opened. The securities account is being processed and will be ready for use by next Monday."

"Thank you for your hard work," Li Xin said. "Get some good rest over the weekend; we have big things to do next Monday."

"What big things?"

"Buying stocks."

At nine o'clock on Monday morning, Li Xin arrived at Xinyuan Capital right on time.

Li Jiayi was already in the office, with two monitors set up in front of her, the screens displaying a pile of candlestick charts and financial statements.

Seeing Li Xin enter, she looked up: "You're here? Sit."

Li Xin sat down: "Is the securities account ready?"

"It's ready." Li Jiayi handed him a document. "This is the account information. The funds have arrivedβ€”200 million USD, equivalent to approximately 1.36 billion RMB."

Li Xin took it, glanced at it, and nodded: "Then let's begin."

"Which one do you want to buy first?" Li Jiayi asked.

"Apple."

Li Jiayi typed a few keys on the keyboard, and Apple's stock price appeared on the screen.

At that time, Apple's stock price was around 150 USD, with a market capitalization of approximately 600 billion USD.

"Buying now?" Li Jiayi asked.

"Buying now," Li Xin said. "Start with 30 million USD to buy Apple."

Li Jiayi entered the buy order and confirmed.

30 million USD, approximately 200,000 Apple shares, accounting for about 0.005% of Apple.

"Transaction completed," Li Jiayi said, looking at the screen. "What's next?"

"Microsoft. 30 million USD."

Microsoft's market cap was about 500 billion USD, with a stock price around 70 USD.

30 million USD could buy about 428,000 shares, accounting for about 0.006% of Microsoft.

"Google. 30 million USD."

Google's market cap was about 550 billion USD, with a stock price around 900 USD.

30 million USD could buy about 33,300 shares, accounting for about 0.0055% of Google.

"Amazon. 30 million USD."

Amazon's market cap was about 400 billion USD, with a stock price around 850 USD.

30 million USD could buy about 35,300 shares, accounting for about 0.0075% of Amazon.

After four transactions, 120 million USD had been invested.

Li Jiayi's fingers paused on the keyboard, and she turned to look at Li Xin: "Are you sure you want to invest all 120 million USD? That's only four companies."

"I'm sure." Li Xin leaned back in his chair. "There's still Tencent and Alibaba, 40 million USD for each."

"Tencent? That's a Hong Kong stock." Li Jiayi frowned. "Stock Connect can buy it, but the quota is limited. 40 million USD should be fine."

"Then buy it."

Tencent's market cap at the time was about 2 trillion HKD, equivalent to about 256 billion USD.

40 million USD could buy about 0.0156% of the shares.

Alibaba's market cap at the time was about 250 billion USD, with a stock price around 100 USD.

40 million USD could buy 400,000 shares, accounting for about 0.016% of Alibaba.

Li Jiayi placed the orders one by one, all of which were executed.

"Total investment is 200 million USD." She looked at the screen, her voice a bit airy. "Apple 30 million, Microsoft 30 million, Google 30 million, Amazon 30 million, Tencent 40 million, Alibaba 40 million."

She took a deep breath: "Do you know how much equity you hold in each of these stocks you bought?"

"I do." Li Xin smiled.

"Apple: 200,000 shares β†’ 0.005%, Microsoft: 428,000 shares β†’ 0.006%, Google: 33,300 shares β†’ 0.0055%, Amazon: 35,300 shares β†’ 0.0075%, Tencent: 1.55 million shares β†’ 0.0156%, Alibaba: 400,000 shares β†’ 0.016%. Although I haven't bought much in each company, this is all I can do for now."

Li Jiayi shook her head: "You used 200 million USD to buy scraps of six companies. Aren't you afraid of a drop?"

"Not afraid." Li Xin said. "These companies have broad prospects, and their market caps will double in the next few years. Apple won't be lower than 2 trillion, Microsoft will also exceed 2 trillion, and it's no problem for Amazon to reach 1.5 trillion. As for Tencent and Alibaba, rising several times over is just a small matter. Buying in now, looking back in five years, these will all be floor prices."

Li Jiayi stared at him for a few seconds: "Where did you get these judgments from?"

"Intuition, a man's sixth sense." Li Xin smiled.

"Intuition?" Li Jiayi laughed. She clearly didn't believe him but didn't press further. "Fine. You're the boss; whatever you say, goes."

She typed a few more keys on the keyboard and brought up the holding page.

"Today's average buy price: Apple 150.2 USD, Microsoft 69.8 USD, Google 901 USD, Amazon 848 USD, Tencent 200 HKD, Alibaba 100.5 USD." She read them out one by one. "All closed higher, with a floating profit of about 840,000 USD."

Li Xin nodded: "Not bad."

"Not bad?" Li Jiayi couldn't help but laugh. "840,000 USD, and you didn't even blink an eye."

"This is just the beginning." Li Xin stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window. "Wait a few years until these stocks have doubled, then you can tell me 'not bad'."

Li Jiayi looked at his back and suddenly asked: "Li Xin, how much money do you actually have?"

Li Xin turned around and looked at her: "Guess."

"I can't guess." Li Jiayi shook her head. "But your way of investing in stocks doesn't look like ordinary investing. It looks like you're laying out a strategy, like you're playing a very big game of chess."

Li Xin was silent for a few seconds, then said: "Everyone wants to win, but most people only stare at the step right in front of them. I want to look a little further ahead."

Li Jiayi didn't ask again.

She shifted her gaze to the holdings in the account, silently pondering: "Six companies, 200 million USD, spread across different markets and different currencies. This is not an allocation made randomly. This person, Li Xin, is much more complex than she imagined."

"You keep an eye on the rest." Li Xin looked at his watch. "If there are any abnormal fluctuations, call me."

"Okay."

Li Xin walked slowly to the door, then stopped and turned back to look at her: "By the way, are you free this weekend?"

Li Jiayi was slightly taken aback: "I am. Why?"

"Treat you to a meal." Li Xin smiled. "To reward you for your hard work this week."

Li Jiayi lowered her head slightly, a hint of a smile on her lips: "Okay."
