71: Chapter 71 Monaco Jewelry Deal

Early the next morning, he silently checked the system panel.

[Gold Search and Refining System 2.0]

[Host: Li Xin]

[Current Level: Level 11]

[Detection Range: 8,990 meters]

[Cumulative Gold Refined: 0.7057 tons]

[Gold Required for Next Upgrade: 100 tons]

He didn't have much gold left. Honestly, he felt a bit like a nouveau riche now. However, he also felt a little regretful. Why did he sell so much gold all at once? It would have been great if he had used it to upgrade. He could have scanned a much larger area. He had been a bit too cocky back then; his resolve had been somewhat unstable.

Li Xin finally smiled, shook his head, and closed the panel.

Before long, his phone vibrated. It was a message from Chen Hu: "Boss, I've made an appointment with the Monaco jeweler. Tomorrow at 3:00 PM in Monaco, at his private club."

"Alright. Help me book a ticket to Nice."

"Understood."

---

The next afternoon, Li Xin flew into Nice.

As he walked out of the airport, a black Maybach was already waiting. The driver, wearing a dark blue suit and gloves, pulled open the door.

"Mr. Li, please. Mr. De Wilde sent me to pick you up."

The car drove east along the coastline, the Mediterranean Sea outside the window shining a brilliant blue. Monaco wasn't far; it took less than an hour to drive there from Nice.

Upon arriving in Monaco, the car drove into a quiet street and stopped in front of a white building. The building wasn't tall, only three stories, with a blue-tiled roof and palm trees planted at the entrance.

The driver led him inside and took the elevator up to the third floor.

The elevator doors opened to reveal a spacious living room. The floor-to-ceiling windows faced the Mediterranean Sea, where several yachts were anchored. The living room had dark wooden floors, a few oil paintings hanging on the walls, and a grand piano sitting in the corner.

A man in his fifties stood by the window, wearing a light gray suit, his hair combed meticulously. He turned around with a very polite smile.

"Mr. Li, welcome. I am Claude De Wilde."

"Hello."

De Wilde poured him a glass of champagne and pointed to the sofa. "Have a seat. Mr. Chen mentioned that you have a batch of jewelry you want to sell?"

"Yes." Li Xin sat down, took out his phone from his pocket, and brought up some photos. "Over a ton, valued at 6.44 billion USD, to be sold as a complete package."

De Wilde took the phone and looked through them one by one.

He looked very slowly, zooming in on each photo to examine it carefully.

After looking for nearly ten minutes, he handed the phone back to Li Xin.

"Where are the goods?"

"In a safe place. You can view them anytime when needed."

De Wilde nodded and took a sip of his champagne.

"Mr. Li, for over a ton of jewelry sold as a complete package, do you know the rules?"

"Please, go ahead."

"First, I inspect the goods, verify them, and quote a price. If you accept, we make a deal; if not, you take them back."

"I can accept that."

"Second, no records will be kept. No contracts, no receipts. Once the deal is done, these goods have nothing to do with you anymore."

"Understood."

De Wilde set down his glass and stood up. "Shall we inspect the goods now?"

"Sure."

Li Xin took out his phone and called Li Bao. "Li Bao, bring the things in the vehicle over now. I'll send you the address."

"Alright, Boss. I'll be there in a moment."

In truth, Li Xin had already instructed Li Bao to arrive early yesterday to secure a cargo truck. When the truck was almost there, he would have the system place the jewelry and other items inside. Since Li Bao was part of his summoned team whose memories would eventually be wiped anyway, this method was both secure and perfectly natural.

After hanging up, Li Xin turned around with a smile and said, "Mr. De Wilde, please wait a moment. My man will be here shortly."

"No problem, we can wait a bit," De Wilde replied with a smile.

About ten minutes later, Li Bao arrived. Li Xin led De Wilde toward him. In the blink of an eye, he had transferred the jewelry and diamonds into the truck.

Li Bao walked over and opened the cargo hold, revealing many boxes stacked inside. The boxes weren't large, each about half a meter square, with plain gray metal surfaces and no markings. De Wilde's pupils contracted slightly, but he quickly returned to normal.

Having his men quickly carry the boxes into the building, he walked over and opened the first one.

Inside the box were rubies. There were dozens of them, large and small, each wrapped in velvet cloth, gleaming with a red light under the lamps.

De Wilde picked one up and examined it with the magnifying glass he carried with him.

"Burmese origin, pigeon's blood red, unheated." His voice was calm, but the hand holding the gemstone trembled slightly.

De Wilde put down the ruby and picked up a sapphire.

"Kashmiri origin, cornflower blue, top-grade."

Piece after piece, box after box.

Diamonds, emeralds, cat's eyes, jadeites, pearls...

De Wilde spent over an hour inspecting them before finally standing up.

There was sweat on his forehead, and his voice was slightly tight. "Mr. Li, these jewels are all genuine. The total weight is about one ton, with an estimated value of 6.44 billion USD."

"For the entire package, how much are you offering?"

De Wilde fell silent for a minute, his fingers lightly tapping on his knee.

"6 billion."

"6.2 billion."

"6.1 billion." De Wilde looked at him. "This is my final offer. If you can accept it, we have a deal."

Li Xin thought about it and reached out his hand. "Deal."

The two hands shook.

De Wilde picked up his phone and made a call. A few minutes later, Li Xin's phone received a bank notification text.

[Your Swiss anonymous account has received: 6,100,000,000 USD.]

6.1 billion USD, equivalent to approximately 41.8 billion RMB.

Adding to his previous balance, his Swiss anonymous account now held 7.05 billion USD.

His Dubai account held 14.5 billion USD.

Total cash: 21.55 billion USD.

Equivalent to approximately 147.8 billion RMB.

De Wilde waved his hand, and several bodyguards in black suits walked in to carry the iron boxes away.

"Mr. Li, it was a pleasure doing business with you. If you have more goods in the future, contact me directly."

"I will."

Li Xin walked out of the building. The sea breeze blew against his face, carrying a salty tang.

He pulled out his phone and sent a message to Chen Hu: "Help me book a ticket to Jakarta tomorrow."

Chen Hu replied instantly: "Understood."

Li Xin got into the car and leaned back against the seat.

Outside the window, Monaco gleamed with golden light under the setting sun, and the sea surface shimmered.

He closed his eyes.

His business in Europe was finished.

Next stop, Indonesia.
