12: The protagonist makes a brilliant appearance, and the enemy is ready to die!

Tula Suo instinctively stood up, pulling out a gun for self-defense.

The newcomer, however, calmly said, "Mr. Chairman, don't be agitated. I'm just here for a visit."

Tula Suo calmed down and lowered his gun.

Since the party had been attacked twice, he had naturally deployed a large number of defenders outside.

But with the appearance of this suspicious person, there was no movement outside.

This could only mean one thing: all the building security personnel outside had been subdued.

If this person simply wanted to kill him, he would have just broken in; there was no need for this elaborate setup.

Although Tula Suo didn't raise his gun, he didn't lower his guard either, questioning, "Who are you?"

The person opposite sat down on the guest sofa, crossed his legs, and appeared completely at ease.

The Masked Man was none other than Fang Le, and this was his first personal appearance.

The current situation in Darwin had all been orchestrated by him.

It was he who, after arriving in Darwin City and finding that the earliest protests had ended, decided to stir up something big to find a reason for rebellion.

It was he who had the fake Anthony appear and shoot Moe Water.

It was also he who kidnapped several U.S. Military soldiers who had just left the base, creating the bloody incident at the Aboriginal Party Headquarters.

And it was he who, while tens of thousands of people were protesting, infiltrated his own people to create chaos and storm the U.S. military base.

Now, facing Tula Suo's wary and questioning gaze, Fang Le adjusted his tone and replied:

"Who am I?"

"I can only say that I am someone who stands with tens of thousands of Indigenous people."

Tula Suo grew impatient.

"I'm not in the mood for riddles with someone who hides their face. You might as well state your purpose directly."

Fang Le: "Alright then..."

"I'd like to ask, Chairman, why are you serving as the Deputy Leader of the Indigenous Party?"

"I've heard that you are still unmarried and have no children, dedicating all your thoughts to party affairs."

Tula Suo thought: Yes, for what?

He initially did it for the survival of the Indigenous people, the interests of the Indigenous Party, and to achieve greater political ambitions.

But after years of struggle, the harsh reality also made him soften his edges, realizing that it was simply unrealistic to grant supreme power to Indigenous people in a country dominated by white people.

Tula Suo remained silent.

Fang Le, however, said, "If you are willing to cooperate with me, I can help you achieve those political ideals, including elevating you, or someone you favor, to the highest position in Australia."

Tula Suo scoffed.

He was no longer a child; he neither believed the other party was speaking truthfully nor did he believe the other party possessed such capabilities.

But Fang Le then added, "Not only that, I can also help you catch the criminals who massacred the Aboriginal Party Headquarters in the shortest possible time, avenge your victims, and increase your personal prestige."

Tula Suo suddenly stood up excitedly.

"You know where those culprits are?!"

Ever since the headquarters was attacked, those culprits seemed to have vanished into thin air.

Fang Le spread his hands: "How big is Darwin City anyway?"

"And my influence, you can't imagine."

Tula Suo's heart was suddenly stirred.

He didn't believe Fang Le's previous promises.

But finding those culprits was something he was extremely eager to do.

Not just to get revenge quickly.

But also because he needed those people to resolve the current situation.

To accuse the U.S. Military of attacking the Aboriginal Party Headquarters, there was currently only one surveillance video clip, which was not enough to sufficiently indict the U.S. Military.

And if he couldn't accuse the U.S. Military, he had led tens of thousands of people in protest, and hundreds of people in the crowd had died or been injured from storming the U.S. military base.

He couldn't bear this unilateral responsibility.

From the initial attack on Moe to the collective deaths of high-ranking Indigenous Party officials, and then to the shooting deaths of hundreds of his compatriots, the tragedy had snowballed.

Tula Suo already felt a deep sense of powerlessness, as if the situation was spiraling out of his control and he was about to fall into an abyss.

Now, the sudden appearance of the Masked Man brought him a faint glimmer of hope.

However, due to a certain intuition, and his distrust of Fang Le, Tula Suo still sat back on the sofa and said to Fang Le:

"If you are willing to disclose the hiding place of those culprits, I can represent the Indigenous Party in thanking you and offering you satisfactory compensation."

"But as for the cooperation you mentioned, I'm afraid I'm not interested."

Fang Le then stood up.

"Alright, Mr. Tula Suo, I know you're still conflicted."

"In about ten minutes, Mayor Cohen of this city will come here to visit you, also seeking your cooperation."

"You can certainly disclose my existence. The choice is entirely yours."

"But remember, in this political storm, every important decision is irreversible. I hope you consider it carefully."

The Masked Man had been gone for a while, but Tula Suo was still in a daze.

He couldn't figure out Fang Le's identity. Darwin City wasn't big, and he generally knew the overall power structure.

Whose interests did this Masked Man truly represent?

Before he could figure it out, his assistant called on the intercom, saying that Mayor Cohen of the city was coming to visit with several important municipal officials.

Tula Suo was slightly surprised.

He remembered that the Masked Man had mentioned this fifteen minutes earlier.

This indicated that the other party possessed a certain level of intelligence capability.

Old Mayor Cohen came to visit with several high-ranking officials, including the Police Chief, and left half an hour later.

During that half-hour, Mayor Cohen explained his specific purpose:

The city government sought cooperation with the Indigenous Party, specifically with Tula Suo himself, to quell the political turmoil that had arisen from the series of tragedies since Moe Water's assassination.

The leverage the city government could offer was that Cohen would personally persuade the other local party's mayoral candidates to withdraw from the election, and Cohen himself would personally recommend Tula Suo for the position.

Thus, Tula Suo would become the first Indigenous Mayor in Darwin City's history.

Tula Suo ultimately did not agree immediately. At this juncture, rashly accepting Cohen's request for cooperation would be tantamount to using the deaths of Moe Water and other comrades and compatriots to pave his own way to power.

After Cohen's group left, Tula Suo continued to ponder alone for a long time.

As the Masked Man had said, his next decision would affect the entire future destiny of himself and the Indigenous Party.

Finally, Tula Suo sighed, picked up the phone, and dialed old Mayor Cohen's number.

"Mayor Cohen, this is Tula Suo. Regarding the cooperation you mentioned, I'd like to discuss it with you in more detail..."

Inside a car on the street, Fang Le listened to the intercepted conversation, a cold sneer on his face.

Since you won't cooperate,

Don't blame me, the mastermind, for stepping onto the stage myself and stirring up trouble!!!
