19: I just want to cause trouble, so what!

A regular armored unit, even if small in scale, coupled with the patrolling cooperation of armed helicopters overhead, would not have much difficulty in self-preservation.

Those citizens who had previously been hiding in their homes and buildings, not participating in the night's unrest, saw the U.S. Military descending like heavenly soldiers through their windows and breathed a sigh of relief. They all hoped that the rebellion in the city could be quelled as soon as possible.

Who would have thought that in the next moment, a group of regularly armed saboteurs suddenly appeared from nowhere, using pistols, rifles, and even bombs to fiercely attack U.S. Military vehicles and soldiers.

Soon, U.S. Military soldiers fell, and U.S. Military vehicles were seized.

Even a helicopter in the air was hit by an RPG and crashed.

Because there were too many of these attacking rioters, coupled with the city's dark environment where the enemy was hidden and they were exposed, the entire U.S. Military armored unit actually collapsed and was completely defeated, with their equipment also being plundered.

Finally, bloody U.S. Military soldier corpses appeared on the streets.

The attackers celebrated their victory collectively.

This cheering quickly spread throughout the city.

Although only about a thousand people participated in the live-fire attacks on the U.S. Military forces, there were far more people involved in the street riots.

Tens of thousands of people wildly cheering on the streets were quite infectious.

And in the next moment, someone, somewhere, shouted a few sentences through a loudspeaker:

“The main combat power of the U.S. military base has been defeated by us. Now Darwin Base is an empty city!”

“Follow me, brothers and sisters, let's go occupy the U.S. military base together—”

Soon, with many echoing responses, “Occupy the U.S. military base” became the slogan reverberating throughout the city.

And it wasn't just shouting slogans; people, riding in various vehicles, led by those with intentions, collectively headed towards Darwin Base, located north of the city center.

The exact number of participants was unknown, but the procession was vast, with vehicle lights like a long dragon, stretching as far as the eye could see.

From Darwin City's main urban area to the military base, it was just over 10 kilometers, and the convoy arrived not too long after.

Perhaps advance forces had already attacked the base, as shouts of battle shook the air there.

This increased the fervor of the subsequent teams, and everyone followed, rushing in.

After the crowd entered the base, they found it in complete disarray, with some broken-down large engineering vehicles and military vehicles burning, and traces of destruction everywhere, which felt a bit out of place.

However, most people couldn't think much about it, only assuming it was caused by those who arrived first.

They simply followed the crowd, swarming into the entire base, occupying every inch of space, and smashing and destroying every facility.

Ultimately, the entire Darwin Air Force Base was in ruins, with flames soaring into the sky.

This base had officially fallen.

Just before the base was “captured,” it sent one last distress communication to the Pentagon across the ocean, including a surveillance video of rioters assaulting the base.

At this point, the setup was complete.

Fang Le, the mastermind behind the scenes, breathed a sigh of relief.

Hmm, it's time for the next stage.

—

Darwin City.

Dawn finally broke.

Many citizens had spent a night in fear.

Most people did not participate in or inquire about the street riots at night, trembling with fear.

Now, the worst is over; electricity and internet are gradually being restored.

Only the scattered garbage left after the street chaos and some dark red unknown liquid remained.

Tula Suo, the current leader of the Indigenous Party, was now very anxious.

Just last night, some people broke into his residence and took control of him.

He could only listen to the sounds of chaos outside his window, guessing what was happening out there.

He felt like a small boat in a stormy sea, completely unable to control his own destiny.

Then, his room door opened.

It was the Masked Man who had visited him before, with a smiling face.

Tula Suo's fear instantly turned into anger.

“The chaos in the city last night was caused by you?”

Tula Suo absolutely refused to believe that such a large-scale city-wide riot could occur without inducement, so he naturally suspected the person hiding his face before him.

The Masked Man calmly sat down, not denying it, and instead asked:

“What do you think?”

Tula Suo became even angrier.

“Are you just seeking immediate gratification without considering the consequences?”

“This is not how you conduct politics and elections—”

In Tula Suo's view, inciting city-wide unrest must have been triggered by the Masked Man for political motives, possibly related to the unfinished mayoral election.

The Masked Man, or rather Fang Le, chuckled.

“Tula Suo, it seems you have no idea what happened last night.”

Tula Suo was puzzled: “What do you mean?”

It was just a night of riots, wasn't it?

Fang Le: “We have already occupied all municipal units in Darwin City.”

“Including the Municipal Building, the police station, telecommunications operators, the power center, the network management department, the television station, and all agencies related to municipal operations that you can think of.”

Tula Suo's face was full of disbelief.

“You're talking nonsense!”

Fang Le: “Then, did you hear the gunshots on the streets in the latter half of the night?”

Tula Suo froze.

He had indeed heard gunshots, many gunshots.

But shouldn't those have been the sounds of the police and other agencies suppressing the street rebellion?

Tula Suo's pupils constricted: “Could it be that you fired the shots?”

Fang Le: “That's right, we occupied the police armory.”

Tula Suo angrily accused: “You, you will be judged.”

Fang Le: “That's hard to say, because we have also taken control of all high-ranking officials in Darwin, including the mayor, police chief, city council members, and core members of various parties.”

“Their situation right now is just like yours.”

At this, Tula Suo completely lost control.

He stood up, pointed at Fang Le, and furiously cursed: “You lunatic, not only did you plan street riots, but you also controlled municipal agencies and imprisoned high-ranking officials. You are completely rebelling—”

Fang Le laughed heartily.

“As you said, we are rebelling.”

“So, we also took advantage of the night to attack and occupy Darwin Air Force Base.”

“Now, that base has become a ruin.”

Huh?

Tula Suo froze in place, completely dumbfounded.
