324: Arrival of the Astral Controller
Looking at the familiar Star Controller, Li Yang couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion, muttering softly to himself.
"Last time it was about containing and controlling Blue Star, and I didn't expect this time it would be about containing and controlling another planet, just like Blue Star, predominantly inhabited by humans."
After a moment of contemplation, Li Yang quickly regained his Commander's sternness and decisiveness. He turned to Pal beside him and issued an order.
"Pal, transport the Star Controller to the main ship. Be ready to launch at any time."
"Yes!"
Pal responded without hesitation and immediately organized personnel to begin moving the Star Controller.
Upon returning to the main ship, Li Yang went straight to the control panel, focusing intently on the various instruments and equipment, awaiting the final readiness report.
Not long after, a clear and strong voice came through the communication channel.
"Report, Captain Li Yang, the Star Controller is ready. All parameters are normal. It can be launched at any time."
"Prepare to launch the Star Controller!"
Li Yang's eyes were firm, and he issued the command in a loud voice.
"Yes, all departments, attention! The Star Controller is about to launch. Please prepare... 3... 2... 1, launch!"
As Li Yang's order was given, the lights on the control panel began to flash.
The Star Controller, resting in the launch bay, was slowly released. Propelled by its thrusters, it flew steadily and powerfully towards the target planet.
After completely detaching from the ship, the Star Controller shot towards the target planet with extreme speed, like an arrow released from a bowstring.
After traversing a long distance, the Star Controller finally arrived near the target planet.
As the distance closed, its speed began to slowly decrease.
"Target planet confirmed. Data uploaded. Commencing control..."
A calm, mechanical voice emanated from within the Star Controller.
Immediately after, this originally massive rhomboid crystal began to undergo a wondrous transformation. It slowly decomposed, like a dreamlike scene, gradually splitting into countless ultra-small rhomboid fragments.
Each fragment emitted a faint yet mysterious glow, like the smallest yet most unique stars in the universe.
These rhomboid fragments seemed to be imbued with life, scattering around the planet at an astonishing speed.
Their speed was so great that it was almost impossible to catch a glimpse of them.
In just a few short minutes, the scattered fragments, like an endless, incredibly dense net, enveloped the entire target planet completely with an unstoppable momentum.
However, because these fragments were so minuscule, from the vastness of space, no abnormality could be detected. The planet continued to rotate quietly in the universe as usual, as if nothing had happened.
"Nodes deployed. Commencing connection..."
With another command issued, each rhomboid fragment became active, emitting slender yet bright beams of light. These lights crisscrossed, like fine spider silk, connecting with each other in space.
Gradually, more and more lights appeared, intertwining ever more tightly, eventually forming a colossal net that covered the sky. This giant net emitted a mysterious glow, tightly encasing the entire planet.
"Connection complete. Commencing expansion..."
The beams of light that connected the various rhomboid fragments began to rapidly widen and expand, as if an invisible force was driving their growth.
In a short while, this giant "net" seemed to be endowed with magical power, gradually transforming into a massive glass sphere glowing with a mysterious blue light.
This glass sphere was crystal clear, its light soft yet full of power, completely enveloping the target planet within it, as if a precious gem were carefully placed in a specially made container.
"The Star Controller has been fully deployed and is now controlling the target planet..."
No sooner had the mechanical voice ceased than a strange phenomenon occurred on the target planet.
Humans living on the planet, whether office workers busy at their jobs, farmers toiling in the fields, or children playing in schoolyards, suddenly felt an indescribable strangeness.
This strangeness was like a subtle vibration, spreading from their feet throughout their bodies, or like an invisible pressure weighing on everyone's hearts.
People stopped what they were doing, standing still with blank expressions, stunned for a while, their eyes filled with confusion.
"Strange, it feels a bit weird..."
A young man frowned, saying with a puzzled expression.
"But then again, didn't that alien civilization clearly say they were going to occupy our planet? But so many days have passed, and there's been no movement at all?"
He stood on the street, surrounded by several companions, all discussing the matter animatedly.
"No movement is good."
One slightly older person pouted, responding dismissively.
"What? Are you eagerly hoping to be taken as a slave?"
There was a hint of sarcasm in his eyes, as if he found the young man's idea a bit naive.
"What are you talking about!"
The young man became a bit agitated, quickly retorting.
"The country has already issued a statement; the alien civilization just wants us to submit, it didn't say it would take us as slaves. Besides, they are already a high-tech civilization, their thinking must be very advanced, so how could they still practice slavery?"
He spoke with conviction, trying to persuade the other person.
Just the day after Pal left, overnight, all the countries on the planet simultaneously declared a ceasefire and publicly announced their submission to the Xili Empire.
This news, like a storm, quickly swept across the entire planet, causing a huge uproar.
Upon seeing this news, although most people chose to accept it, many also protested, their hearts filled with dissatisfaction.
They felt that submitting to an alien civilization so easily was a blow to the country's dignity and the nation's spirit.
