51: Answer me, what did you see?

The Consultant and Zuo Dao exchanged a strange look, while Jiang Cen’s expression in front of them suddenly turned grim.

After a long while, the magic power and the strange laughter completely vanished, and only then did a trace of weariness appear on Jiang Cen’s face.

“This isn’t good…”

He sighed softly, seemingly lost in thought.

The Consultant was puzzled, not understanding what Dean Jiang was talking about.

At this moment, Jiang Cen turned to look at them.

“You two… tsk tsk tsk.”

Jiang Cen’s demeanor changed from before; he looked at the two with a helpless expression, shaking his head gently.

The Consultant felt a little nervous.

What did this old man mean? He wouldn’t be expelling them because of this, would he?

Thinking of this possibility, the Consultant quickly spoke, intending to explain.

But Jiang Cen shook his head first, waving his hand at them:

“You two, follow me.”

After he finished speaking, he turned and walked towards the stairwell.

The Consultant and Zuo Dao exchanged glances again. They dared not refute, nor did they dare to chat casually, only communicating with their eyes.

“Brother, did we make too big a fuss?”

“I don’t know.”

“Brother, are we going to be expelled?”

“I don’t know.”

“Brother, you…”

“Stop asking, I don’t know.”

The two looked at each other, Zuo Dao constantly signaling with his eyes, while the Consultant continuously shook his head.

They followed Jiang Cen all the way to the stairwell, descended the spiral staircase, and returned the way they came. After leaving the Star Bell Tower, the Consultant’s expression immediately relaxed a lot.

The reason was simple: at the entrance, there were four other unlucky fellows standing there, each with a ashen face.

These four were, of course, Zhang Chi and the others who had run away early but then ran straight into Jiang Cen who had arrived.

With these few people for company, the Consultant was suddenly less flustered, after all, these few were the real culprits.

“You few, come over here, all of you!”

Jiang Cen glared at Zhang Chi and the others, his tone much colder than before.

Zhang Chi and the others naturally dared not speak, only following behind the Consultant and Zuo Dao with their heads downcast.

Jiang Cen held his staff without a word, tapping the ground with it with every step.

And the main door of the Star Bell Tower behind them also closed again with a blue magical force, as if nothing had happened… Not long after, the Consultant and the others followed the silent Jiang Cen, passing through the academy roads, and arrived at the entrance of a huge office building.

“Holy crap, are they really going to expel us?”

The Consultant had always had a bad impression of such places, and he couldn’t help but start murmuring to himself.

He knew that in this world, he was all alone.

If he were expelled from school, given his current situation, he might only be able to become a Bounty Hunter completely.

That was a dangerous job; ever since he first encountered the Silver Vine Demon Realm Flower, the Consultant had already felt that this job was not easy.

No, tonight’s incident must be blamed on Zhang Chi and the others.

At this moment, the office building was empty, with blue eerie light glowing on the walls beside them.

The atmosphere was heavy, with only Jiang Cen’s staff continuously making sounds.

They walked all the way to the deepest part of the office building. Ahead was a large door with a sign hanging on it, bearing three characters—

Dean’s Office!

“Brother, entering the Dean’s Office on the first day of school, we’re really something else!”

Zuo Dao whispered to the Consultant from behind, trying to lighten the mood.

But his trembling voice betrayed his nervousness and feigned composure.

The Consultant didn’t answer either. After following Jiang Cen into the Dean’s Office, he turned to survey the room.

The Dean’s Office wasn’t large; it was filled with bookshelves, all stacked with thick books.

There wasn’t a speck of dust on the books, perhaps because they were frequently read.

After entering the Dean’s Office, Jiang Cen placed his staff aside.

He turned and walked behind the desk. After a moment of silence, he waved at the Consultant and the others:

“You few, come over here and line up!”

Jiang Cen’s voice held a hint of sternness.

The Consultant quickly straightened up, and Zuo Dao and Zhang Chi and the others behind him also lined up with solemn expressions.

What would be said next?

A verbal warning?

Discipline?

Or direct expulsion?

The Consultant kept thinking about what might happen, but none of those things occurred.

Jiang Cen merely found a shorter black wooden staff from behind the desk, then picked up a crystal basin.

“You little rascals, of all the places to run around, why did you have to go there…”

Jiang Cen didn’t look at anyone, muttering to himself. After placing the basin-like object on the table, he waved the black wooden staff again.

Faint magical power began to surge, and within a few seconds, the crystal basin was filled with blue liquid.

It was like liquefied magic, with sparkling points of light, like a starry sky.

The Consultant and the others had never seen such a spell, and expressions of curiosity appeared on their faces, though they dared not show it too obviously because Jiang Cen was present.

But Jiang Cen smiled and waved at the Consultant and the others: “Come closer, all of you, and tell me, what do you see in here?”

As soon as the Dean spoke, their curiosity, which was already bursting, made them all eager to try.

The Consultant was the first to walk to the crystal basin and look down.

The others also quickly gathered around the crystal basin, looking into the basin that resembled a starry night sky.

The liquefied magic in the basin surged, and the stars within constantly twinkled, truly beautiful, but after a moment of novelty, the Consultant found it somewhat boring.

Just as he was about to look up, he noticed that the others were still watching, seemingly completely engrossed, with no one even making a sound.

The Consultant was a little confused; was it really that captivating?

He looked back into the crystal basin, only feeling that the surging magic was somewhat monotonous, inexplicably making him feel sleepy.

At this moment, the Slime in his arms suddenly wiggled slightly, and he instantly snapped out of the inexplicable drowsiness.

Then, Jiang Cen’s voice came again from the front.

“Children, what did you see?”

His voice was soft, full of kindness, yet it seemed to carry a hint of allure.

“…”

No one answered, only the faint breathing of those nearby.

“Answer me, what did you see?”

Jiang Cen’s voice came again.

Seeing that the others weren’t speaking, the Consultant, feeling puzzled, answered, “Dean, I saw… uh, magic?”

“What?”

Jiang Cen’s surprised voice came from the front.
