175: Chapter 175 The Divine Vein of Ice and Sand
"This guy... he clearly could have killed me with a single blow just now. Why did he show mercy?" The Monk asked, truly unable to understand.
Xiao Yao: "Didn't I say it? He wanted to test the power of that move."
"You forced my hand." A green sword suddenly appeared in Ye Bugui's hand, and energy surged into it continuously.
"Heaven-grade Transcendent Martial Arts, Streamer Shadow."
In an instant, Ye Bugui transformed into countless identical figures, surrounding Mu Cheng. Each one emitted the exact same aura.
"Master, hurry up and act. Don't waste words with him, just finish him off." Xiao Yao remained entirely unconcerned.
The Monk was getting flustered and asked with some worry, "Can he... really do it?"
"Don't worry! No problem," Xiao Yao said with great confidence.
Mu Cheng suddenly released his Battle Qi, and in just a flash, only one of the thirty-six Ye Buguis remained.
Simultaneously, he assumed a sprinting posture, and the ground was instantly crushed into a large crater.
In another instant, Mu Cheng flashed past. Ye Bugui fell to the ground unharmed but had lost all mobility, lying there quietly forever.
"How boring. I thought he was something impressive." Mu Cheng had expected him to be powerful, but now he saw he was nothing at all.
After a moment of shock, the Monk slowly blurted out,
"This... Extreme Point Divine Power. It actually exists. I can't believe it."
"Don't get too excited. It is indeed Extreme Point Divine Power," Xiao Yao said very calmly.
Mu Cheng happened to hear this and immediately came over to ask curiously, "What is Extreme Point Divine Power? I've never heard of it."
"Master, Extreme Point Divine Power is said to be able to penetrate anything. Even the strongest top-tier Omni-God wouldn't dare to be careless against it," Xiao Yao explained.
At the beginning, Mu Cheng's divine power was just a prototype, but now it had basically taken shape... However, to reach Great Mastery, he still had to spend a lot of effort to comprehend and continuously break through.
"Fine, pretend I didn't ask, okay? Let's keep moving." Mu Cheng had no interest at all and walked at the very front without even checking the direction.
The Monk felt it was particularly embarrassing, covering his face and shouting, "Can't you check the direction before you walk? It's not that way!"
"I... fine!" Mu Cheng hurriedly changed direction in extreme embarrassment.
As before, Xiao Yao stayed at the very front while Mu Cheng and the Monk continued their chase, traveling through the Black Zone.
Three days and nights later, Xiao Yao suddenly stopped. "The true Black Zone is just ahead. Slow down a bit!"
Ahead were black jagged rocks of all sorts of strange shapes. Combined with the gloomy sky, it did look a bit frightening.
"Why do we have to walk? That's such a waste of time," Mu Cheng asked with a look of confusion.
The Monk didn't explain but pushed Lin Mo forward. "You want to know why? Then go in and see for yourself."
"It looks perfectly normal ahead. What danger could there be?"
Mu Cheng thought nothing of it and stepped into the Black Zone. He suddenly felt as if his entire body was being hollowed out, but it returned to normal after a moment.
"What's going on? Is it gravity restriction again?" Mu Cheng finally understood and asked.
Experiencing it personally... was indeed more effective than a clear explanation.
Xiao Yao: "You'll know what's going on once you try to run."
"I'll give it a try!" Mu Cheng intended to start running, but he suddenly felt his body being hollowed out again, making him unable to move at all.
"Is it an environment that restricts speed?" Mu Cheng guessed.
The Monk nodded and said, "You're not that stupid. Indeed, the Black Zone restricts speed. Otherwise, why did you think we had to walk?"
"Master has a hole in his brain; better just ignore him," Xiao Yao said coldly as she slowly stepped into the Black Zone.
"What is with these two?" The Monk was a bit dazed but quickly followed.
Mu Cheng was also quite helpless and could only follow behind. "Can't you guys slow down a bit?"
"You have to learn to control your own speed. Otherwise, if you encounter monsters or other dangers, you'll be in trouble," the Monk suddenly remarked.
Mu Cheng could only keep trying to speed up, feeling his body hollowed out, and then lowering his speed again.
The Monk and Xiao Yao were also somewhat helpless and had to slow down, but Lin Mo was actually quite fast at controlling his speed.
Ten minutes later.
"You're pretty good, guy. You controlled your speed so quickly," the Monk said with some disbelief.
Mu Cheng was smug and said dismissively, "I don't see how this is hard. Isn't it just controlling your own speed?"
"It actually is quite hard. It took me ten days back then." Xiao Yao was already used to Mu Cheng's constant surprises, so she wasn't shocked.
However, hearing this, Mu Cheng immediately became interested and asked, "Xiao Yao, Xiao Yao, have you been here before? Otherwise, why are you so familiar with it?"
"Master... Xiao Yao hasn't been here, but the inherited memories are very clear," Xiao Yao explained, sounding quite exasperated.
An unknown amount of time passed.
Xiao Yao suddenly stopped. "It's been a long, long time since I've stretched my limbs. You two just stay put on the side."
"It's Black Mad Scorpions. If you can't do it, don't force yourself. We can all go together," the Monk said worriedly.
Although the Black Mad Scorpions were only Nine-Star World King Gods, their strength had reached the half-step Outer God Breaker level. The main issue was that they traveled in swarms of thousands.
They didn't look very large, but they had no problem taking down an adult. Just standing up, they were a full two meters tall, and with their tails raised, they reached over five meters.
Obvious marks could be seen on the jagged rocks they passed over; one could imagine how sharp each leg was.
Soon, Mu Cheng's group of three was surrounded, as if enveloped by a patch of darkness with no way out.
"This... there are too many!" Mu Cheng didn't hesitate to prepare for battle, not daring to be even slightly careless.
Xiao Yao wasn't panicked at all. "All of you, come to my side. Watch how I deal with them."
"What are you waiting for? Get over to Xiao Yao's side!" Mu Cheng was relatively close to her and quickly reached her side, shouting.
The Monk was less fortunate and had to control himself at a feasible speed as he ran toward Xiao Yao's side.
"Damn it, how should we deal with these guys?"
"Stop dawdling and hurry up!!!" Xiao Yao was extremely calm; she had to wait for the Monk to reach her side before she could act.
Soon, the Black Mad Scorpions lunged toward the three in a dense mass. At the critical moment, the Monk had just reached her side.
"All of you, die!" Xiao Yao instantly released wood-attribute energy. The entire world seemed to fall into darkness as the Black Mad Scorpions were all lifted high by strands of Black Vine.
"Leave the rest to me!" Mu Cheng didn't hesitate at all, releasing Black Vines to start devouring them.
Soon, the Black Mad Scorpions were slowly decomposed into black energy, which Mu Cheng refined, devoured, and absorbed... their numbers gradually dwindled.
Just as the devouring and refining were complete, a group of Men in Black suddenly surrounded Mu Cheng's group. The leader slowly walked toward them.
"A possessor of the Devouring Bloodline. You were truly hard to find."
The leader was wearing a black suit. From a distance, he looked quite handsome, but up close, there was a long scar on his face, making him look incredibly ugly.
"This guy... is from the Red Rose. Be careful!" the Monk said, becoming serious.
Red Rose, one of the four great assassin organizations. Mu Cheng never expected these forces would have already reached the Battlefield.
However, he wasn't panicked at all. "Come at me if you have the guts! It'll give me a chance to see the strength of your Red Rose."
The leading Dark Tower man, Luo Sanpao, was suddenly enraged. "Very well, then die!"
"Too much talk." Mu Cheng wasn't going to waste words with Luo Sanpao. He threw a serious punch, sending him flying into the jagged rocks.
"That punch just now clearly looked so ordinary, yet it was so terrifyingly powerful. He's becoming more and more unpredictable," the Monk thought, greatly surprised.
"Your power is decent, but your actual strength isn't much." Luo Sanpao walked toward Mu Cheng, unscathed.
"Brute force alone probably won't hurt that guy. Let me do it!" Xiao Yao slowly stepped forward.
Mu Cheng grabbed her. "Just stay on the side. My strength isn't as fragile as you think."
"Fine!" Xiao Yao eventually agreed.
"All of you, come at once!" Mu Cheng took out qianji, transforming it into a black spear, and his Battle Qi was instantly released.
"This... is Extreme Point Divine Power. How is this possible? Absolutely impossible." Luo Sanpao was trembling with fear as he gave the order stutteringly.
"What are you waiting for? All of you, attack!"
Luo Sanpao's strength was only that of a Nine-Star World King God; before a God-level being, he was nothing.
"I told you, you're no match for me." Mu Cheng didn't want to waste any more words and issued another harsh warning.
"I'll give you one more chance. If you don't want to die, get lost!!!"
"He... still couldn't bring himself to kill them? At this rate, a tragedy will happen sooner or later." Seeing Mu Cheng act this way, the Monk felt a bit at a loss for what to do.
Xiao Yao suddenly said in a very deep voice, "Master... he, forget it... these things can't be forced. Let's take it slow."
"Being soft-hearted is indeed very fatal on this Battlefield," the Monk said very seriously.
Not everyone inside the Dark Tower was fearless. Soon, they all left one after another, leaving Luo Sanpao alone.
"You guys... just you wait."
Luo Sanpao was about to flee, but how could Xiao Yao let him leave? She flashed past and finished him off; his death was truly gruesome.
"This... why did you have to kill him?" Mu Cheng looked at the gruesome sight and almost vomited, feeling even more afraid.
Xiao Yao: "Master, it's better to kill an enemy by mistake than to let one go."
"Kid, if you keep this up, you'll regret it." The Monk patted Mu Cheng's shoulder and turned to walk toward Xiao Yao.
Xiao Yao: "Don't just stand there in a daze, let's keep moving!"
"Is it really necessary to kill?" Mu Cheng clenched his fists and quickly followed.
Although he had come all the way from the end-times, Mu Cheng had indeed changed a lot... he had become a 'good guy.'
Of course, if it were his past-life self, he would never have been soft-hearted in a situation like today's.
Six hours later, the three of them stepped into a black desert. Xiao Yao suddenly stopped and shouted,
"Be careful, something's happening!"
"Did something happen?" Mu Cheng quickly came to Xiao Yao's side and asked.
"Look around you," the Monk said, noticing the situation.
Inside the black sand were flickering blue lights. Mu Cheng was a bit shocked by the scene. He grabbed a handful of sand and saw blue grains within it shining with blue light.
He asked curiously, "What is this stuff inside the sand?"
Xiao Yao wasn't certain yet and said after a long hesitation, "The blue light is from Energy Veins. If it really is a vein, there's definitely an entrance, but it will take a lot of effort to find it."
The Monk tapped the high-tech bracelet on his right wrist, and a small flying device flew high into the air, disappearing from sight in a moment.
"We'll know in a bit if there is one."
Ten or so minutes later.
The small flying device returned to the Monk's high-tech bracelet, and an entrance was marked on the map.
"There really is a vein here, and it's a top-tier Ice Sand Divine Vein," the Monk said in surprise.
"What kind of vein is this? Why haven't I heard of it?" Mu Cheng was completely confused.
The Monk led the way. "You'll know when we get there. It's not far from here anyway, so let's go down and explore a bit."
Ten or so minutes later.
"The entrance is just down here ahead," the Monk stopped and said, pointing forward.
"Leave it to me!" Mu Cheng subconsciously took out an iron shovel and started digging.
"Is there anyone else like him? Master is at it again." Xiao Yao felt extremely speechless and didn't even dare look at Mu Cheng, feeling it was particularly embarrassing.
The Monk finally couldn't help but curse, "You've got water in your brain, don't you? Believe it or not, I'll help you see if it's good or bad."
"I forgot about that. Xiao Yao, you do it!" Mu Cheng said very awkwardly as he put the shovel away, acting quite thick-skinned.
Xiao Yao lightly waved her hand, and suddenly black wooden vines grew from beneath, lifting the entire sand dune.
"Hurry up! Stop dawdling."
Below was an ice cave passage. It wasn't very large, and the Monk, who wasn't afraid of death, jumped down instantly.
Xiao Yao and Mu Cheng followed closely behind and jumped down as well.
The ice cave was very smooth, forming a long tunnel. They had no idea how deep it was, but they could clearly feel they were sliding down for a full thirty minutes before reaching the bottom.
The three entered a world of ice. Before them were ice blocks of all sizes, with many stalactites hanging above, all frozen into ice.
Mu Cheng asked, "Which way should we go?"
The Monk operated his high-tech bracelet again to release six small flying devices, appearing not at all flustered.
"Wait a bit. We'll have the topographic map of this place soon, then we can plan the route."
After a short while, all six small flying devices returned to the Monk's bracelet.
Before long, the Monk pulled up the topographic map, marking several feasible routes, and asked softly,
"Which path should we take?"
Xiao Yao took a quick look. "The next intersection is actually on the side. Let's see if we can try to walk along the ice wall as much as possible."
