179: Chapter 179 I'm Stop Pretending

"What are you guys afraid of? I want to see just how powerful these stone men are."

The monk, emboldened by some unknown source of courage, rushed forward. The stone man's speed increased instantly, and it threw a punch at him.

Fortunately, Lingling's reaction speed was fast, and she pulled him back.

Mu Cheng immediately noticed something unusual. "Don't move recklessly. If I'm not mistaken, we're standing on a formation. The stone men will attack as soon as we move."

"Stay still, let me try!"

Lingling instantly performed a short-range teleportation. Sure enough, the stone man closest to her immediately threw a punch.

She teleported back to her original spot. "It seems it's just as Master said. They attack as soon as we move."

"Then think of a way! I don't want to be trapped here forever," the monk said hurriedly.

Mu Cheng looked at the scattered rocks and pondered for a moment. "I don't know if it'll work, but I have to try."

Lingling immediately guessed his plan. "Master, let me try instead!"

The monk felt mentally and physically exhausted. "Can't you two speak in plain English?"

"I'll do it. That guy won't cut it." Mu Cheng wasn't sure if this method would work.

At this point, he could only treat a dead horse as if it were alive; there was no other way. Of course, the prerequisite was that the monk couldn't get hurt.

The monk suddenly got angry. "You're the one who won't cut it! Your whole family won't cut it!"

Mu Cheng gave a light leap onto a scattered rock. The stone man didn't move an inch.

The monk finally understood and followed suit, landing on a rock. "So that's how it is. I'm coming too."

"Don't be in such a hurry!" Mu Cheng felt quite speechless.

The monk jumped onto the rocks so recklessly that, as expected, an accident occurred. A nearby stone man threw a punch at him.

Fortunately, Mu Cheng's reaction speed was fast, and he used the black gold heavy sword in his hand to forcibly block the stone man's punch.

Having escaped disaster, Mu Cheng said somewhat angrily, "You guy, can you stop causing trouble?"

"What's... the situation? You were fine when you jumped on the rocks, so why did it happen to me?" the monk asked with a bewildered and curious expression.

Lingling explained, "You jumped on the wrong rock. Of course something happened."

"Then what should we do now?" the monk asked softly.

Mu Cheng began to study it seriously. After a while, he said, "I'll try again to see if my hypothesis is correct."

Watching Mu Cheng jump across the rocks unharmed, the monk didn't dare move recklessly again after his previous experience.

"It seems there's a pattern. You only avoid being attacked if you get it right."

"Stop dawdling and keep up," Mu Cheng suddenly shouted.

Lingling leaped up and landed on the rocks Mu Cheng had stepped on; nothing happened at all.

"You keep up too!"

The monk followed closely behind. Mu Cheng didn't dare be careless and suddenly picked up the pace.

"Lingling, I'll scout ahead. Stay as far from me as possible."

Lin Mo's concern was not without reason. For the sake of safety, Lingling and the monk had no choice but to obey.

"What danger could there be? You guys are overthinking it!" the monk suddenly spoke up. He simply didn't believe there was any further danger.

The further they went, the more stone men appeared.

Lingling scolded him angrily, "Can't you just behave? The stone men in the middle are very dense. If an accident happens, it won't be as simple as just being attacked by the stone men on the side."

With so many stone men, once trapped among them, one would essentially be worn down to death.

The monk finally calmed down. "Fine! You up front better look carefully, or we'll all suffer with you."

"Don't worry! It shouldn't be a big problem. Besides, these stone men can't do anything to me," Mu Cheng shouted while cautiously deducing the next step.

As more and more stone men appeared ahead, Mu Cheng was forced to stop.

"The trouble is a bit big now. I basically can't see any scattered rocks ahead."

"Then what should we do? Hurry up and think of something," the monk said, becoming anxious instantly.

Lingling pondered for a long time before saying, "There is a way, but... it's a bit risky."

"It is indeed quite risky, but if there's really no other way, we have to try," Mu Cheng said, understanding her meaning immediately.

The monk felt extremely speechless again. "You two... are at it again. Can't you speak in plain English?"

Mu Cheng had no mood to pay attention to the monk. "Jumping over from the top will definitely trigger traps and lead to an attack. The formation can only be broken by finding and destroying the array core."

"Can the eye be found? Even if it is... I'm afraid it'll be very hard for us to break it," the monk asked.

Lingling: "There are too many stone men. We have no way back... we can only take it one step at a time."

Mu Cheng pondered for a moment and finally made a decision.

"How about this? Lingling, you go look for the array core! With me here, holding out for an hour shouldn't be a problem. Let's hope our luck isn't too bad!"

"Alright then! You two must hold on." Lingling released her Bloodline Power and soared into the sky, disappearing instantly.

The monk watched in admiration. "She's got guts... she actually dares to use Bloodline Power to fly. I wouldn't have the courage if it were me."

"We'll talk about that later. Now... let's deal with what's in front of us."

Mu Cheng saw the stone men swarming over all at once. Although their speed wasn't very fast, he still had to be cautious.

"What should we do? Think of something!" The monk looked at the menacing stone men; there were simply too many of them, and he really had no idea what to do.

Lin Mo swung the black gold heavy sword in his hand and took the initiative to strike at the stone men.

"What else can we do? We can only hold on like this."

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The sound of the sword hitting the stone men rang out continuously. One after another, the stone men were knocked to the ground by Mu Cheng's black gold heavy sword. However, even if a stone man was cut in half, it would recover after a short while.

"What... what do we do? These stone men can't be killed at all." The monk began to panic.

Although he could dodge them for now without much trouble, if this went on for too long, he would really meet his end here.

"It looks like this will be a fierce battle. You're on your own!" Mu Cheng could only choose to dodge the stone men's attacks, and if he couldn't dodge, he would knock them to the ground.

"How strange, why am I not affected by the bloodline suppression? Whatever... business first." Lingling had been searching for the array core anxiously, but she still hadn't found it after flying over half the area. Being anxious alone wouldn't help.

She finally decided to speed up. "Since I'm not affected by the bloodline suppression, I'll go all out."

As time passed.

"These stone men actually attack with Bloodline Power. It seems this Battlefield is much more complicated than I imagined," Mu Cheng finally realized.

Originally, the stone men's attacks were purely brute force, which had no effect at all against his strongest body tempering technique.

This point alone was enough to prove that this Battlefield must have a certain effect on Bloodline Power.

Finally, on the other side, Lingling found the array core. Without wasting any more time, she directly released a Transcendent Martial Arts.

"Parasitic Entanglement!"

Black Vines took root and coiled around the stone man, quickly twisting it into powder. Instantly, all the stone men returned to their slumber.

Seeing the stone men fall, Mu Cheng could no longer hold himself up and collapsed to the ground, panting heavily.

"It's finally over."

"It's good that it's over. I wonder if Sister Lingling is okay." The monk also collapsed from exhaustion.

Mu Cheng: "She's fine. What exactly is going on here?"

The monk explained: "You've noticed it too. Whether it's monsters or humans, their attacks aren't very strong, yet their strength has reached the level of a Nine-Star World King God."

"Are you saying this Battlefield restricts Bloodline Power? And it's a very, very strong restriction?" Mu Cheng asked back.

In fact, he had found it strange from the beginning, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was. Moreover, he was mostly unaffected.

So... he didn't take it to heart.

Monk: "Something like that. By the way... are you not restricted by the bloodline here?"

"Yeah, it hasn't had any effect on me at all," Mu Cheng nodded and replied.

The monk was instantly bewildered. "That's really strange... logically, it should be impossible. If there's a reasonable explanation, it must be that your Bloodline Power is even stronger than the Battlefield's."

"Can you... explain that more clearly? Is the Battlefield a person? Otherwise, where would the Bloodline Power come from?" Mu Cheng became more confused the more he heard.

"You could say that. The Battlefield is actually in a sealed state right now. If it's not a person, then this bloodline restriction... it shouldn't be called bloodline suppression, it comes from the person who sealed it." The monk was quite clear on this point.

Mu Cheng: "The Battlefield is sealed? You mean... the seal on the Battlefield is getting weaker and weaker?"

"Yes, Master. The seal on the Battlefield will be completely lifted in five years at most. At that time, there will be no bloodline suppression at all." Lingling's voice suddenly came through.

She was perfectly fine now, and she hadn't consumed a large amount of Bloodline Power as the monk had suggested.

"You... are also not suppressed by the bloodline?" the monk asked with a bewildered look.

Lingling: "At first, I felt my bloodline was suppressed, but now it seems... it must be Master's bloodline that keeps me from being suppressed."

She couldn't quite explain what was going on either. If she had known her Bloodline Power wouldn't be affected, why would she have been in such a sorry state?

With the strength of a Nine-Star World King God, she could almost walk through this place unchallenged...

"Good grief, I really couldn't tell that your bloodline was so terrifying," the monk said slowly, though he didn't seem surprised at all.

"This guy... seems to know a lot." Although Mu Cheng was curious, he didn't ask further.

The three continued deeper inside. This area of scattered rocks was quite large, and it took them a full six hours to successfully walk out of it.

"Further ahead is a small-scale Black Forest. We must be careful," the monk said, checking the route on his high-tech bracelet.

The so-called "Black Forest" referred to a very short forest. It was overall very dense, with the tallest trees being only three meters high. They were oddly shaped and came in all varieties.

"To get through here, I'm afraid we'll have to carve out a path." Mu Cheng looked at the dense thicket.

He took out the black gold heavy sword and walked forward. "Leave this manual labor to me! Lingling, you handle the lookout."

Lingling nodded slightly and said, "Don't worry! I can sense anything within a range of over a thousand meters."

Carving out a path was a piece of cake for Mu Cheng; it was no trouble at all.

Not long after entering, Lingling sensed danger and quickly warned them. "It's the Mu Shi Clan. It looks like we're in for some big trouble this time."

At the same time, a hidden hint appeared for Mu Cheng. [Warning! Warning! Warning! Within a thousand-meter range, a Mu Shi Clan army has been discovered. Level unknown, quantity unknown.]

Sure enough, after a short while, a green figure leaped out from the bushes, a sharp bone dagger slashing quickly toward the monk.

Fortunately, Lingling's reaction speed was fast, and she pulled him away, narrowly escaping disaster.

"What was that thing just now? Its speed was way too fast; I couldn't see it clearly at all." Mu Cheng had only seen a flash of green and had no idea what kind of creature was causing trouble.

Monk: "It's the Mu Shi Clan. They're about half a meter tall at most, small in stature but very fast, and most importantly, they live in groups."

As soon as he spoke, the surrounding bushes kept making noises. Lin Mo held the black gold heavy sword, being very cautious.

"They're here, be careful!"

Suddenly, another green figure appeared, holding a bone dagger and stabbing toward Xia Lingling. This time, the speed wasn't very fast.

He finally saw what it looked like: less than half a meter tall, with a large head and eyes, and completely green.

It was wearing clothes made of leaves, and its movements were very agile.

Having been prepared this time, the monk ducked his head and easily dodged it. At the same time, countless green arrows flew out from the bushes.

"Be careful, these arrows are poisonous. Don't let them hit you," Lingling warned.

Facing so many arrows with the Mu Shi Clan in the shadows, it was completely impossible to dodge them all.

"Quick, get next to me." Mu Cheng instantly released Black Vines that rose from the ground, barely managing to block the attack.

The dense arrows kept coming, and Mu Cheng soon felt the strain.

"Not good, these attacks are close to the level of a Six-Star World King God. I'm afraid I can't hold out for long."

The monk was completely panicked. "Hurry up and think of something, or we'll all be finished here."

"What else can I do but hold on?" With the Mu Shi Clan in the dark, Mu Cheng really had no other options.

Lingling sensed more and more Mu Shi Clan members surrounding them. She had to think of a way. She pondered for a moment.

"Master, how about trying to release the Bloodline Spirit?"

"Forget it. I wanted to keep a low profile, but it seems my strength won't allow it. I'm done pretending; leave the rest to me," the monk suddenly blurted out.

Indeed... if he didn't have some level of strength, he probably wouldn't have dared to enter the Ice Sand Divine Vein, let alone this Legendary Underground Palace.

"Hurry up then, if you have a way." Mu Cheng had suspected it for a while, and now it was confirmed.

The monk had been faking it.

"Yeah, give me a moment, and leave the rest to me!" The monk suddenly released a white Bloodline Power.

Before long, a Talisman Array appeared beneath his feet and began to take shape.

"This is a summoning Talisman Array, barely passable," Mu Cheng recognized it at a glance.

Suddenly, he said in shock, "Good grief, you were hiding it deep. It's actually a summoning Bloodline Power."

"This summoning Talisman Array... is an eyesore. Master, if you get the chance later, you should teach him," Lingling couldn't help but chime in.

"Can you... be a bit quieter?" The monk almost lost his temper, but fortunately, he calmed down.

Soon, the summoning Talisman Array was successfully completed, and a Dark Night Ice Wolf was summoned...

It was about eight meters tall with snow-white fur, looking quite noble overall.
