168: Chapter 168 I Want to Slap God
"Enough." Chloe interrupted him coldly. "If you can't find your things, don't take your anger out on an innocent child passing by. It's not just stupid; it's classless."
Lucifer was going crazy. He pointed at Qin Ming and emphasized, "Chloe! Believe me! The scent on him isn't right. He's not human at all! He's a little demon! A freak in human skin!"
Qin Ming, hiding behind Chloe, poked half his head out at that moment.
"Um..." Qin Ming looked at the two of them with a wronged expression. "Officer, although I don't know him, isn't calling me a 'demon' a bit too much?"
Qin Ming sneered inwardly.
With the dignified Son of God template, being pointed at and called a demon by the Lord of Hell—this world really was upside down.
As soon as Lucifer heard this, he immediately pointed at him and shouted, "Look! He admitted it! He's provoking me!"
Chloe completely lost her patience.
"Lucifer, please leave immediately." Chloe blocked him firmly. "You cannot treat a child like this. If you harass him again, I will arrest you right now on charges of harassing a minor. I mean it."
Lucifer froze in place.
Qin Ming peeked an eye out from beside Chloe's waist and raised an eyebrow at Lucifer.
"Exactly, exactly," Qin Ming echoed in a soft, sweet voice, though his gaze was extremely arrogant.
Lucifer's blood pressure spiked instantly, the veins on his forehead throbbing.
"Very well." Lucifer straightened his suit jacket and stared coldly at Qin Ming. "This isn't over. You little brat, I'll be watching you."
With that, he turned, pulled open his car door, and slammed the accelerator. The black sports car roared and disappeared around the street corner.
Chloe turned around, knelt down, and patted Qin Ming's shoulder. "Don't be afraid. He's just an arrogant delusional. Hurry off to school."
"Thank you, Officer." Qin Ming nodded obediently and turned to walk toward the school.
Just as he reached the school gate, Qin Ming paused.
Jennifer was standing alone by the fountain statue at the school entrance.
Seeing Qin Ming, she quickly walked over to meet him.
"Morning." Jennifer's voice was very sweet.
"Morning." Qin Ming's reply was very salty.
Jennifer seemed to want to say more, but the warning bell just had to ring at that moment.
She could only nod slightly and turn toward her own teaching building.
A day of boring campus life flew by while Qin Ming was lost in thought.
School let out in the afternoon.
Carrying his backpack, Qin Ming skillfully avoided the crowds and turned into a deserted dead-end alley behind the school.
He looked left and right, and after confirming no one was following, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone.
His finger tapped the screen twice.
Zzt—zzt—
The static on the phone screen suddenly enlarged, and two skeletal, pale palms reached out from the screen.
Qin Ming landed steadily on the sandy ground.
He turned to look; stuck in a crevice of a nearby reef was an old, abandoned tablet computer.
Larry on the screen waved a hand, then cut the signal, turning back into a black-screened piece of scrap metal.
The evening beach wind was bone-chilling; there was no sunset, and the sky had already turned completely dark.
Waves crashed against the rocks, making a loud, roaring sound.
Qin Ming found a relatively dry rock to sit on, placed his backpack under his seat, and waited quietly.
He was waiting for someone.
About ten minutes passed.
The low growl of a sports car engine came from the distance, followed by the sound of a car door being slammed shut.
Along with a deliberate rustling of heavy footsteps.
"Oh, kid. Are you waiting for me?"
Lucifer stopped less than five meters from Qin Ming. He had followed that physiologically nauseating 'Daddy' scent all the way here.
As it turned out, this wing-stealing thief who had made him fly into a rage was sitting brazenly on a reef, enjoying the sea breeze.
"You look so weak." Qin Ming chuckled softly. His voice wasn't loud, but it carried clearly to the other's ears through the sea breeze.
He looked up, his clear eyes staring straight at Lucifer without a ripple of emotion. "Not just weak, but reeking of nouveau riche vibes. I'm starting to seriously doubt whether that old man God's decision to send you to take over Hell was the right one. With your aura, can you even suppress those old-school demons?"
The sneer on Lucifer's face froze.
The divine aura already made him flustered and irritable, and this undisguised mockery directly snapped his prideful nerves of sanity.
"Right?! You actually use the word 'right' to describe Him?!"
Lucifer took a sudden step forward, his handsome features becoming somewhat distorted by extreme anger. Deep in his pupils, the dark red flames of Hell even began to burn.
He pointed at the pitch-black night sky, his voice tearing through the gale. "He threw me down from Heaven! He threw me into that dark, sunless gutter full of torture devices and wailing to suffer for eternity! This is what you call 'right'?!"
Lucifer held his head in his hands, pacing back and forth on the beach irritably, his accusations crashing out like rapid-fire artillery.
"I was once the brightest Morning Star in Heaven! I had the most perfect wings and the most noble status! And Him? He is a total hypocrite, a cruel, control-freak tyrant! He treats us like low-quality toys in His sandbox, not allowing us to have any thoughts of our own! As long as something slightly displeases Him, He brings down a disaster!"
Lucifer stopped in his tracks and glared viciously at Qin Ming. "This is the Lord you so-called 'Holy Ones' believe in! A madman!"
Qin Ming sat on the rock, showing no emotional fluctuation despite Lucifer's fury.
On the contrary, he nodded in extreme agreement.
"Yeah, you're right." Qin Ming rested his chin on one hand. "He really is a guy overflowing with a desire for control. He starts a Great Flood when He's annoyed and brings down heavenly fire to destroy cities when He's unhappy. No sense of contract at all, doing everything based on personal whim."
Qin Ming looked at Lucifer, his tone suddenly becoming very serious. "To be honest, if it were me... I'd really hope someone could grab Him by the beard, drag Him down from that damn seat, and give His ass a good thrashing."
Even the sound of the waves seemed to pause for a moment.
Lucifer remained in a posture ready to continue cursing, his entire person frozen in place.
He had stayed in Hell for millions of years and encountered countless fallen souls and arrogant demons.
When they cursed God, it was at most calling Him a "rotten old man" or a "tyrant."
But this kid in front of him, who came with his own holy light and radiated a thick divine aura, actually opened his mouth to say he wanted to "give God a beating"?
Just whose family raised this Holy Son?!
Lucifer's Adam's apple rolled, a flicker of extreme bewilderment flashing in his eyes. "You... seem even more extreme than I am."
After a brief daze, the corners of Lucifer's mouth couldn't help but curl upward, and finally, he even burst out laughing.
"Hahaha! However!" Lucifer laughed so hard he bent over, pointing at Qin Ming. "You're absolutely right! I also really hope someone can go give Him a beating! Kid, even though you stole my things, I suddenly feel like you're not so eyesore anymore."
"You must not speak like that, Father."
A deep, thick voice carrying a powerful sense of pressure came from above their heads without any warning.
Accompanying this voice was the extremely violent sound of wings vibrating in mid-air, a gale rising suddenly and swirling sand and dust into the sky.
