184: Chapter 184 As expected of Arkham's genius
Immediately after, Shigemori's stomach split open right down the middle with a "rip" sound.
There were no normal human organs spilling out; what erupted instead were dozens of thick, dark red tentacles covered in suckers and barbs.
"Roar——!!!"
This was not a sound a human could make; it sounded more like a rusty meat grinder roaring.
Shigemori's head was pushed directly to the side by the expanding muscles, and those dozens of tentacles, dancing like mad demons, instantly locked onto the theater troupe actors nearby who were too terrified to even scream.
The tentacles shot out violently, wrapping around the waist of a female actress who had been mocking Sadako in the rehearsal room just yesterday.
"Ah——Director! Don't! It's me!"
The tentacles contracted violently with a muffled "squelch," snapping the actress's spine, and her entire body was dragged toward Shigemori's split-open stomach like a broken ragdoll.
A dull sound of flesh colliding echoed; the actress didn't even have time to struggle further before being completely devoured by that heap of writhing flesh.
"Run! Run quickly!" The other few male actors were wriggling on the ground like madmen.
But it was meaningless.
The tentacles struck with the precision of vipers, piercing the remaining seven or eight people one by one, dragging them, and forcibly stuffing them into the mound of flesh that was continuously rising.
Accompanied by the teeth-grinding sound of bones being chewed and the sticky sound of flesh merging, a monster that challenged the very limits of human sanity was born.
It was a full four or five meters tall.
The monster's lower half consisted of over a dozen legs of varying lengths, supporting it on the ground in an extremely twisted posture.
Its torso was a massive, constantly writhing blob of fatty sarcoma.
And on the surface of the sarcoma, the faces of Director Shigemori and those core actors were embedded.
These faces still retained the extreme terror of their final moments, mouths wide open, constantly emitting overlapping, shrill roars.
Dozens of deformed arms and tentacles flailed wildly in the air, flinging green slime outwards.
At the entryway.
Qin Ming watched the nauseating thing on the screen.
"Oh." Qin Ming casually uttered a syllable. "So many people were sent in, yet the three of them are actually still alive."
"What interesting thing is Brother watching?" Emma leaned over, staring at the clawing, writhing mountain of flesh on the screen. "Wow, what an ugly thing, though it should be pretty good as a stationary target."
Sadako also subconsciously glanced at the screen.
Just one look, and "Ugh..." Sadako suddenly covered her mouth, her stomach heaving violently.
Qin Ming ignored Sadako's reaction; his attention remained on the screen.
In the video, facing this mountain of flesh monster capable of destroying a normal person's sanity, the three patients standing there displayed an extremely stable mental state.
"I told you not to do it like this!" Bi spat fiercely. "Look at this, is this thing normal? It doesn't even have the shape of a human anymore!"
Before the words had even faded, Bi pulled out a pitch-black, six-barreled Vulcan cannon from somewhere, aiming the thick muzzle directly at the mountain of flesh.
"What we wanted was a body enhancer! Not a fucking mutant monster!"
Bi roared, pulling the trigger hard.
"Da-da-da-da-da-da——!!!"
The ear-piercing sound of the electric motor spinning and the half-meter-long flames spewing from the muzzle instantly illuminated the entire concrete space.
Metal casings as thick as an adult's finger rained onto the ground like a waterfall, creating a crisp clattering sound.
The terrifying metal storm poured onto the flesh-mountain monster without any blind spots.
Every large-caliber bullet exploded a chunk of flesh on the monster's fat.
The faces embedded in the sarcoma were instantly blown apart, their screams completely drowned out by the deafening gunfire.
The monster was beaten back repeatedly, but its powerful devouring and regenerative ability caused the bullet holes to quickly secrete slime and heal.
Several thick tentacles braved the hail of bullets and whipped toward Bi frantically.
"Move! Move! Move!"
Esther's voice, carrying a hint of childishness yet extreme madness, rang out. She had produced two bundles of high-explosive grenades, taped together with heavy-duty duct tape, from who knows where.
"Bi, what's the point of talking nonsense now! This is absolutely not the time for nonsense!" Esther bit off all the fuse pins.
"Go to hell, you big fat pig!"
Esther violently threw the two bundles of grenades toward the depths of the monster's split-open stomach.
"Boom——!!!"
Violent flames and shockwaves instantly erupted within the enclosed space.
The monster let out a shriek of extreme misery; half of its massive body was blown to bits, scattering flesh everywhere, and several severed limbs slapped against the wall.
But under this level of firepower, West made a move that no normal person could ever comprehend.
This mad scientist who had orchestrated it all actually walked forward two steps, braving the flying flesh and the oncoming stench of hot waves.
He spread his arms, looked up, and let the green slime and bits of flesh splatter onto his wrinkled lab coat.
"What do you know!" West's eyes flashed with extreme obsession. "Look! What a wonderful body! That irregular expansion, that extreme, vigorous vitality!"
He took a deep breath, as if savoring the finest perfume.
"This is the beauty of flesh! This is the most perfect creation, freed from the shackles of bones and genes! If it could be fully controlled, this would be the ultimate form of humanity!" West was trembling all over with excitement.
"Evolution my ass!" Bi, carrying the still-smoking Vulcan cannon, cursed at West while swiftly changing the ammo belt. "Can you look at the situation, you lunatic! It's coming over!"
The mountain of flesh, having had half its body blown away, not only didn't die but instead fell into a complete frenzy due to the excruciating pain.
More tentacles erupted from the wounds, surging toward the three like a giant net of flesh.
"Explosions! We need more explosions!" Esther hopped in place with excitement, pulling another set of even more exaggerated-looking sticky explosives from her clothes with both hands.
The phone screen was filled with deafening roars, the monster's bellowing, and the trio's illogical yet tacitly coordinated, violent bickering.
The entire digital space of Larry had turned into a completely insane slaughterhouse.
Qin Ming stood at the entryway, silently watching this scene.
He had no intention of intervening; in such an enclosed space, facing a low-level experimental subject he had created himself, they simply wouldn't die.
"As expected of a genius from Arkham." A faint arc curved at the corner of Qin Ming's mouth.
"Click."
Qin Ming pressed the lock screen button, and the phone screen instantly plunged into darkness, completely cutting off the scenes of flying flesh and the roaring sounds.
He tucked the phone back into his pocket and turned his head to look at Sadako, who was still leaning against the wall with a blank stare.
A flash of light passed, as if nothing had ever happened.
Sadako clearly felt much better.
