Chapter 228: Chapter 228: Slaying Gods – 4Thor was one of the strongest battle-type gods to ever exist.

Ever since he earned that title, his hunger to become stronger grew to an otherworldly level.

He did everything he could, and everything he was able to do, to grow stronger, and the path he chose turned him into a ruthless and blasphemous god who didn’t care what he did as long as he gained more power.

A few thousand years ago, some of the dark elves from Svartalfheim stumbled upon a very unique and strange artifact, one they couldn’t use, as it was beyond them, something even gods would grow greedy to possess.

But somehow, the elves accidentally activated that artifact, and when they did, it sucked every ounce of life they had, killing hundreds of dark elves.

That was when the Norse gods took notice of the dying elves, and that’s how they came to discover the [Law Forger].

They didn’t know where it came from, how it ended up in Svartalfheim, or who created it, but they did discover what it could do.

The [Law Forger], as its name suggests, could forge laws by extracting the life force and life essence of a person and turning it into laws.

The gods, mostly Aesir like Odin, Heimdall, Sif, Bragi, and even some Vanir gods like Njord, and especially Thor, the power-hungry monster of a god, took great interest in it.

“It’s been a while since I came to Earth, gotta admit it’s totally different…” Týr, the Norse god of battle, justice, and courage, said.

“Don’t change the subject, Týr,” Amelia snorted. “You guys knew all of this and yet you did nothing… and you call yourself a god of justice?”

“Justice takes time and space… Let me tell you something, justice will always prevail in the end. I mean, look at them. Imagine how many mortal lives they took, and now they’re about to die at the hands of a mortal… Justice comes with irony.” Týr clicked his tongue.

“Watch your mouth, Týr. Don’t let it get to you, calling His Majesty ‘mortal’… You might end up dying like one,” Lenora narrowed her eyes.

“I’m sorry…” Týr apologized without hesitation.

He wasn’t afraid of Lenora or Amelia, but they were afraid of what they were part of: the family, and most of all, the monster of a mortal thrashing Thor around in Alfheim.

Týr wouldn’t admit it, but he was terrified of Damian.

“Fine… and she wasn’t asking about justice, she asked why you didn’t do anything about it?” Lenora pressed.

“What could we do? We don’t have the strength or the numbers… Odin is the king of the Norse pantheon, his son Thor is the strongest god here, and they have hundreds of battle-type gods. We simply cannot go against something so big,” the goddess Freya sighed.

“Hmph. Excuses… Whatever, it doesn’t matter anymore,” Lenora dismissed coldly. “Now my king is going to kill everyone involved without mercy.”

Lenora looked at one particular goddess as she continued. “I hope you understand the weight of the words I’m saying… Frigga.”

“It’s alright… It’s been a long time since I felt anything familial for my husband or my sons… Honestly, it’s long overdue, they need to die,” Frigga, the queen of the Norse pantheon, goddess of magic, prophecy, family, and motherhood, the mother of Thor and wife of Odin, said with an expressionless face.

“Coming from a goddess of family, that’s really big…” Freya nodded.

“Wait, I just remembered… Queen Mother, didn’t you prophesy something about this? Something that was supposed to replace Ragnarok?” Týr asked, looking at Frigga.

“Yes… I made that prophecy a few years after they began using the artifact to suck the life out of mortals. This prophecy came out of nowhere and broke the earlier prophecy of Ragnarok told by the old seer…” Frigga replied.

“It is not Ragnarok that will bring the end of the gods. Rather, their own deeds will hasten their doom, brought forth by the hand of a mortal. For those who continue to walk the murderous path, the truest fate is death, and death alone shall be their end.”

“And here I thought Ragnarok was going to be the end of us…” the trickster god Loki added.

“You and me both, Loki,” Týr said with a deep sigh.

“Oh right, you two are supposed to die in Ragnarok,” Amelia said, grinning. “You should be glad my darling came along and broke that prophecy.”

“Especially you, Loki… Half the stuff that was supposed to happen in Ragnarok would’ve been caused by your children,” Freya added sarcastically.

“Speaking of your children… Which side are they on?” Amaya asked.

“Well, Fenrir was supposed to devour Odin and Jörmungandr was supposed to kill Thor and die in the process… It’s not hard to guess which side they’re on,” Loki replied, glancing at the vampire, knowing full well that the vampires, werewolves, and high humans were that mortal’s wives.

“What about Hela? You know, among your children, I consider her to be the real monster, not Fenrir or Jörmungandr,” Freya said.

“I don’t know… She’s keeping to herself in Niflheim. It’s been thousands of years since I last spoke to her. As far as I know, she doesn’t care about anything else as long as she’s left undisturbed in her world,” Loki shrugged with a small, displeased sigh.

“Hela will be fine… She’s smart. The fact that she didn’t join that band of gods proves she has some self-integrity… She’ll survive the doom,” Amelia replied.

“What about us? We were never involved with those fallen gods,” Týr asked.

“Freya and Hela will be fine… I don’t know about the rest of you, though,” Lenora replied, rubbing her chin.

“Why them?” Loki asked, raising his eyebrows at the unfair treatment.

“Well, for one, they’re beautiful women. Secondly, Freya is my darling’s contractor. And thirdly, my darling likes them both,” Amelia said.

Freya sighed deeply, as if the worry in her heart had disappeared.

“And maybe Frigga… I mean, she did the right thing, leaving her husband and son to fate. She might survive, who knows? If darling likes her, he might take her as his wife. Darling is into mature women, especially those who are headstrong and do what needs to be done,” Lenora added, glancing at the woman with very mature features.

“So only goddesses with good looks,” Loki muttered with frustration. “I mean, I can turn into a woman…”

“Real women, Loki. And not every woman… His Majesty doesn’t want women just for the hell of it, he wants women as his wives, for eternity, to have children with. He doesn’t take mistresses, he takes wives,” Amelia said firmly.

“The rest of you will be safe as long as you submit,” Lenora added.

“That’s good… Hey, if Hela becomes his wife, then wouldn’t I become his father-in-law?” Loki asked.

“That depends… Would your daughter care if you get killed?” Amelia asked.

“Oh no… I’m sure Hela would be happy if her lousy and irritating prankster of a father gets turned to dust,” Freya said.

“What did I ever do to you?” Loki asked, holding his head, looking at Freya.

“What didn’t you do with your pranks and tricks?” Týr added with a disappointed shake of his head.

“I’m the god of mischief, I can’t help what I do…” Loki sighed.

“Whatever… Just tell us how many gods and goddesses are not on their side, then we will begin our work on conquering the Norse pantheon,” Amelia said.

“Well, there’s me, my brother Freyr, the Queen Mother here, the annoying trickster god, Týr, the goddess Eir, Queen Mother’s confidante Fulla, the goddess Hlín, the blind god Hodr… and that’s it, I guess. Well, there’s also the three children of Loki…” Freya said with a sigh.

“So few gods of an entire pantheon… This is pitiful,” Lenora muttered.

As a goddess of family, she could feel the comfort or consolation for these gods who couldn’t do anything about those they grew up with, some even related by blood, about to die.

But at the same time, she felt a sort of grim acceptance at the fact that none of them felt bad or sad about it.

Even Queen Mother Frigga, known as the most compassionate goddess of the Norse pantheon besides Freya, showed no sadness or pity that her own children and husband were about to die.

“What do you want us to do until His Majesty finishes his job?” Frigga asked.

“It’s simple, everyone will be busy getting killed by darling. Meanwhile, we’ll use the people on our side to take control over the Norse pantheon, all nine worlds plus Helheim and Valhalla… Actually, leave the hell and heaven of the Norse to darling. None of us have any domain over the dead,” Lenora said, rubbing her chin.

“Well, Fólkvangr is under the control of Freya,” Týr added.

“Fólkvangr is not a heaven, it’s small, even slightly smaller than Earth. My world acts as an extension of Valhalla where half the virtuous souls end up. No offense to the dead, but I’d really like it if they went back to Valhalla,” Freya sighed.

“The first-generation gods made it like that so I wouldn’t have control over a whole world for myself. So they turned my world into a heaven where half the souls go to, and since I’m a goddess don’t have dominion over souls, I cannot do anything about it, nor do I have any command over the souls of the dead.”

“I’ll have to ask my husband to change this setting after everything is over,” Freya took a deep breath.

“Already calling him husband? Nice going, Freya.” Amelia clapped her hands as if she was impressed.

“You wouldn’t understand… I really want to talk to him, I have to. I finally understood what it meant…” Freya began to mumble to herself.

“What are you talking about?” Lenora asked.

“…Nothing,” Freya replied, shaking her head.

“I wish Hathor was here… She would understand. She’s going through the same, after all,” Freya said to herself quietly.

“Leaving Valhalla, Fólkvangr, and Helheim, also don’t involve Niflheim. Darling will deal with Hela,” Amelia continued.

“Okay, what about the fire giants and ice giants? They don’t really like Norse gods, or any gods,” Týr added.

“Yeah, don’t bother them either…” Lenora said.

“That leaves elves, dark elves, dwarves, humans, Asgard, and Vanaheim,” Amelia said.

“We won’t have a problem dealing with the humans…” Shiru said as she, Maria, Ana, and Yuki nodded their heads.

They, as high humans, naturally had the ability to make normal, low-level humans submit to them using their racial influence, so they wouldn’t have any problem dealing with them.

“I, Freya, and my confidante Fulla will handle the dwarves, they don’t hate us,” Frigga added.

“Then I guess the rest of us will handle the elves…” Týr said.

“By the way, don’t kill anyone. If they resist, imprisonment will do just fine,” Lenora said.

“That makes things a little harder…” Týr admitted.

“Just do as we discussed, and don’t screw up,” Amelia narrowed her eyes. “Darling will decide what to do with them.”
