18: Chapter 18 Yin Tianxue, can you really satisfy him?
Will he be disappointed?
Will he... go out and find other women?
At the thought of this possibility, Yin Tianxue's heart felt as if it had been pricked by a needle, a fine, dense pain spreading through her. She involuntarily tightened her arms, hugging Yu Bo even closer, as if doing so could lock him firmly by her side.
But another voice in the depths of her heart argued softly: Yu Bo wasn't that kind of person. Wasn't his attitude toward her Older Female Cousin today obvious enough? His eyes and heart only held her.
But... can a man's desire and reason really be completely separated? Didn't he also admit that his body had a physical instinct in the face of her Older Female Cousin's blatant seduction? Although he said it was just a "knee-jerk reflex," what if... what if he encountered someone even more provocative, younger, and more beautiful in the future?
Yin Tianxue discovered that she was actually afraid—afraid that she wouldn't be able to hold onto this man who was far too outstanding. She was used to being in control of everything, strategizing in the business world, and had never felt so anxious about gain and loss or so lacking in security.
Was she to share this man with other women?
This thought sent a chill through her, causing an instinctive rejection. Just imagining Yu Bo holding another woman, looking at someone else with that affectionate gaze, embracing someone else with his strong arms... she felt as if she couldn't breathe and her heart tightened.
Never!
This answer burst from the depths of her heart almost instantly, carrying an unquestionable resoluteness. She was Yin Tianxue; whatever she wanted, she had always possessed exclusively, never allowing others to touch it. Yu Bo was hers, and he could only be hers.
But... the prerequisite for exclusivity was that she could fully satisfy him.
Yin Tianxue fell into an unprecedented conflict. On one hand, she was proud and confident, believing in her own charm; on the other hand, the "ability" Yu Bo had displayed caused her to doubt herself and feel a faint anxiety. She both enjoyed the ultimate pleasure he brought and worried that she wouldn't be able to match his needs in the long run.
These messy thoughts left her feeling distracted and upset, and she couldn't help but let out a soft sigh in Yu Bo's arms.
“What's wrong?” Yu Bo keenly sensed the change in her mood. His fingers ran through her long hair as he asked in a low voice, “Still thinking about what happened just now?”
Yin Tianxue shook her head and didn't speak, only burying her face deeper into the crook of his neck, drawing in his reassuring scent. She didn't know how to bring it up. Was she supposed to ask him, “Will you cheat because I can't satisfy you?” That was too stupid and would make her seem very insecure.
Yu Bo waited for a moment, and seeing that she remained silent, he didn't ask further. He only embraced her more gently, his palm stroking her smooth back slowly and steadily, as if soothing an uneasy little animal.
Feeling his tenderness and patience, the bit of anxiety and unease in Yin Tianxue's heart was strangely smoothed away bit by bit. Perhaps she was overthinking? Maybe what Yu Bo wanted wasn't just physical compatibility? Between them, there were so many other ties—a shared future, a spiritual connection...
Besides, since when had she, Yin Tianxue, become so timid? Not enough to satisfy him? Then she would work hard to satisfy him, to learn, and to explore. He was her man, so she had the responsibility and obligation to make sure his body and mind belonged only to her.
This thought made everything clear to her, and her tense body slowly relaxed. She looked up and pressed a light kiss on Yu Bo's chin.
“It's nothing,” she said softly. Her voice returned to its usual cool tone, yet it carried a trace of imperceptible softness and determination. “I'm just a little tired.”
Yu Bo looked down at her, his gaze deep, as if he could see through all her internal struggles from just now. However, he said nothing, only smiling and kissing her forehead.
“Sleep for a while if you're tired,” he said. “I'll stay with you.”
“Mhm,” Yin Tianxue replied, closing her eyes again. This time, her heart felt much more at ease.
This sleep was deep. It wasn't until the twilight gathered outside the window that Yin Tianxue slowly woke up.
Beside her was the sound of Yu Bo's steady breathing; he had actually fallen asleep too, his arm still loosely draped around her. Yin Tianxue moved gently, wanting to get up, but a clear soreness came from her waist, making her let out an involuntary soft groan.
“Awake?” Yu Bo's voice carried the raspiness of someone who had just woken up. His arm tightened, pulling her back into his embrace. “It's still early, lie down for a bit longer.”
“What time is it?” Yin Tianxue's voice was also a bit hoarse, carrying the laziness of the aftermath.
Yu Bo reached out to grab the phone on the nightstand and took a look: “Six-thirty. Are you hungry?”
At his question, Yin Tianxue's stomach let out a very cooperative “growl.” Her face flushed, and she nodded.
“What do you want to eat?” Yu Bo propped himself up and looked down at her. “Order takeout? Or go out to eat?”
Yin Tianxue thought for a moment. “There should still be ingredients at home, right? Just make something simple; I don't want to go out.” The marks on her body hadn't faded yet, and she really didn't want to go out and see people.
“Alright,” Yu Bo replied simply, getting out of bed. He only had a bath towel wrapped around his waist, his lean, strong back and firm lines of his waist and hips fully exposed in the dim light.
Watching his fluid movements and remembering the madness of the afternoon, Yin Tianxue's face heated up again. She quickly averted her gaze and pulled the quilt over herself.
Yu Bo looked back and saw her curled up in the quilt with only her eyes showing. Finding it adorable, he leaned over and stole a kiss from her lips. “Wait for me, it'll be quick.”
After he went out, Yin Tianxue took a moment to recover before getting up to take a shower in the bathroom. The hot water washed away her fatigue and cleared her muddled head. Looking at the ambiguous marks on her body in the mirror, her face heated up, but a hint of sweetness spread through her heart.
By the time she dried her hair and changed into a comfortable set of loungewear to walk out of the bedroom, the aroma of food had already filled the living room.
In the open kitchen, Yu Bo was busy at the stove wearing an apron. His movements were skillful—chopping vegetables, heating oil, and tossing them into the pan in one fluid motion. The warm yellow light shone on him, outlining the focused lines of his profile, creating a peculiar sense of warmth.
Yin Tianxue leaned against the doorframe, watching quietly. At this moment, the lust and passion had faded, leaving only the simple warmth of domestic life, yet it made a certain corner of her heart feel even softer.
“What are you looking at?” Yu Bo sensed her gaze and turned back to smile at her. “It'll be ready soon.”
Two simple dishes and a soup: Stir-fried tomatoes and eggs, Sautéed seasonal vegetables, and a steaming pot of Mushroom soup. It looked good and smelled inviting.
The two sat down at the dining table. Yu Bo served Yin Tianxue a bowl of soup: “Try it, be careful, it's hot.”
Yin Tianxue took a sip. It was fresh, savory, and warmed her stomach; it was indeed quite good. “You know how to cook?” she asked, somewhat surprised.
“I used to be poor, so I couldn't exactly eat takeout every day.” Yu Bo placed some eggs in her bowl with his chopsticks. “Try this, it's my specialty.”
The eggs were stir-fried to a tender smoothness, and the tomatoes had just the right balance of sweet and sour, making it very appetizing. As Yin Tianxue ate, she suddenly felt that such simple home-cooked dishes were more comforting than the cuisine at Michelin-starred restaurants.
Halfway through the meal, Yu Bo put down his chopsticks and looked at Yin Tianxue, his expression becoming a bit more serious.
