20: Chapter 21 Tinglan Capital
By the time Yu Bo finished cleaning up and walked out after drying his hands, Yin Tianxue was already leaning against the large sofa in the living room in a lazy posture. She patted the spot beside her, signaling him to come over.
Yu Bo walked over and sat sideways, then gently pulled her, letting Yin Tianxue lie down naturally with her head resting on his lap. Yin Tianxue was slightly startled for a moment, but then she relaxed, adjusted to a comfortable position, and looked up at him.
From this angle, she could clearly see his well-defined jawline and the gentle look in his eyes as he looked down at her.
"It's more comfortable to talk like this," Yu Bo explained, his fingers naturally weaving through her smooth hair, combing it every now and then.
Yin Tianxue didn't object; instead, she enjoyed this intimate posture. She relaxed her body, looked at the ceiling, and returned to the main topic: "I've been thinking about the company name; it should have some meaning."
"Oh? For example?" Yu Bo's fingers gently massaged her scalp, which felt very comfortable.
"Ideally... it should include both of us," Yin Tianxue's voice softened, carrying a hint of subtle expectation. "Or, hint at our relationship."
Yu Bo's massaging movements paused for a moment, and then a smile filled his eyes. He leaned down and gave her a light peck on the lips: "You want to declare ownership that much, President Yin?"
Yin Tianxue's face heated up slightly, but she didn't deny it, just looking at him: "Is that not allowed?"
"It's allowed, of course it's allowed." Yu Bo laughed heartily and sat up straight again, though his fingers still lingered in her hair. "Let me think... 'Xuebo'? Too direct. 'Tianyu'? A bit strange..."
He pondered, his gaze falling on Yin Tianxue's face. Her eyes were closed, her long eyelashes casting a small shadow beneath them, her nose was perky, and her lips were naturally crimson. A thought suddenly struck him.
"How about 'Listening to the Waves'?" Yu Bo said slowly.
Yin Tianxue opened her eyes, a flash of doubt in them: "Listening to the Waves?"
"Yes." Yu Bo nodded, his fingers gently brushing over her eyes and brows. "'Ting' (Listen) is a homophone for the 'Tian' in your name, Tianxue; it also means to listen and insight, which fits the keen intuition needed for investment. 'Lan' (Waves) takes the 'Bo' (Wave) from my name, Yu Bo, meaning billows or tides. Together, 'Listening to the Waves'—listening to the tides of the era and seizing investment opportunities. And..."
He paused, his voice turning even softer: "'Lan' is born from water and also rises because of the wind. You are the wind, I am the water; only when you brush past do I ripple with waves. Only when we are together can we stir up even greater tides."
Yin Tianxue listened quietly, her expression shifting from doubt to realization, then to being touched. This name had meaning, hinted at their relationship, and was not cliché.
"Tinglan Capital..." she whispered once, her lips slowly curling into a beautiful arc. "It sounds good. And it's interesting. Let's go with this one."
"As long as you like it." Yu Bo was happy to see her satisfied.
"What about the place of registration?" Yin Tianxue continued to ask, sliding her body down a bit more to find a more comfortable position, almost half-lying in his arms. "Cayman and the Virgin Islands are good, but I'm afraid there might be future concerns. The policies of the local parks in Jiangzhou are also okay, mainly... it's convenient."
She said the last two words softly, with an unconscious sense of dependence.
Yu Bo understood her meaning, wrapping his arm behind her to hold her more steadily: "Then Jiangzhou it is. It's convenient for me to report to President Yin at any time, and also convenient for President Yin to... inspect my work at any time." He deliberately elongated his tone.
Yin Tianxue gave his waist a light pinch: "Talk business."
"Okay, let's talk business." Yu Bo laughed and caught her mischievous hand, holding it in his palm. "The small difference in tax incentives can be saved elsewhere. The focus in the early stages is to take root and build a solid foundation. Being closer to you also allows me to spend more time with you."
This talk was comforting, and the slight worry in Yin Tianxue's heart about the distance completely dissipated. She then thought of another tricky issue, and her brow furrowed slightly: "In the beginning, you'll need an assistant to handle business and external relations. This person needs to know the industry, be reliable, and represent the company's image..."
As she spoke, she unconsciously toyed with Yu Bo's fingers, her tone carrying obvious hesitation.
Yu Bo held her hand back, his thumb rubbing the space between her thumb and index finger: "There's no rush for candidates. I can manage on my own in the early stages. If it's really necessary, I'll first hire a down-to-earth administrative staff or a fresh graduate to handle miscellaneous tasks. As for external negotiations... don't I have you, my ace consultant? At worst, I'll just use your influence and act under the banner of Yin Corporation to get things done."
He joked half-seriously, trying to ease her anxiety: "Besides, for the matter of finding an assistant, you must give the nod. My principle is that anyone who makes you feel uncomfortable will not be hired. Gender, age, looks, ability... they all need your approval."
These words were blunt and domineering, yet they strangely dispelled the gloom in Yin Tianxue's heart caused by Su Man. She knew Yu Bo understood her concerns and had given her the greatest sense of security through his actions.
"Smooth-talker," Yin Tianxue chided, but her brow smoothed out, clearly pleased with Yu Bo's stance.
"Smooth-talker," Yin Tianxue chided, but her brow smoothed out, clearly pleased with Yu Bo's stance. She set this topic aside for the moment and thought of another important matter.
"What about the office space?" she asked. "Since we're registering in Jiangzhou, the site selection should be finalized as soon as possible."
Yu Bo nodded: "I've thought about it. The initial team will be small, so we don't need a large area. We can find a small but exquisite office building near the High-tech Park, forty or fifty square meters is enough. The key is stable internet and power, and good security."
"Hmm, I'll have Manager Zhou keep an eye out for office buildings near Residence Name for you. There are a few newly built parks that are quite good, with complete supporting facilities," Yin Tianxue said. "I'll go with you to take a look when the time comes."
"Okay." Yu Bo agreed, his fingers continuing to gently comb her long hair, enjoying this moment of peace and mutual understanding. He suddenly thought of something and smiled: "Say, once 'Listening to the Waves' has an office, should I follow those overbearing CEOs in TV dramas and put a photo of you on my desk? The one where you're wearing my shirt—it looks especially good."
Yin Tianxue's face heated up, and she glared at him: "You wouldn't dare!"
"Just kidding." Yu Bo quickly begged for mercy, but the smile in his eyes deepened. "But seriously, President Yin, when the company has its opening ribbon-cutting ceremony, shouldn't you, the big consultant and backer, grace us with your presence? To give 'Listening to the Waves' some prestige."
"We'll see." Yin Tianxue deliberately put on a stern face. "If CEO Yu performs well and handles all the early preparations properly, I might consider it."
"Mission guaranteed!" Yu Bo immediately declared his determination. "I'll definitely make the opening ceremony grand and satisfying for President Yin."
The two chatted for a while longer about other details of the company's early stages, from the general style of the LOGO design to the first batch of office equipment that might need to be purchased, and even whether to set up a small pantry in the office with the coffee and tea Yin Tianxue liked.
The topics were trivial and specific, yet filled with shared plans and expectations for the future. Yin Tianxue found that discussing these things with Yu Bo was much more interesting than those strategic meetings at her company that often lasted for hours. Perhaps it was because this time, it was for "their" company.
As they chatted, Yin Tianxue's voice gradually lowered, and her eyelids began to droop. The afternoon's frenzy plus the mentally taxing discussion tonight finally brought on a wave of fatigue.
Noticing her sleepiness, Yu Bo stopped talking and tightened his arm, allowing her to lean against him more comfortably.
"Tired?" he asked softly.
"Yeah, a little." Yin Tianxue responded vaguely, finding a more comfortable position in his arms, her nose brushing against the clean and pleasant scent on him.
"Go to sleep," Yu Bo said softly. "I'll carry you back to the room."
"Mhm..." Yin Tianxue was already half-dream half-awake, letting him pick her up in his arms.
Holding her, Yu Bo walked back to the bedroom with steady steps, carefully placed her on the bed, and covered her with the quilt. He leaned down and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead.
"Goodnight, my President Yin," he whispered. "I wish our 'Listening to the Waves' smooth sailing."
Yin Tianxue seemed to hear him in her sleep; the corners of her mouth curled up unconsciously, and she murmured a vague "Goodnight."
Yu Bo stood by the bed for a while, looking at her peaceful sleeping face, his heart filled with an unprecedented sense of fulfillment and responsibility.
He turned and walked out of the bedroom, gently closing the door, but he didn't rest immediately. Instead, he went into the study.
Turning on the computer and pulling up a document, he began to seriously organize the preliminary business plan for "Tinglan Capital." Although he had Yin Tianxue's support and the confidence from the system, he knew that the road had to be taken step by step, and the foundation had to be solid.
