57: Chapter 58: Experiencing Yu's Courage Once Again
Yu Bo chuckled. "Then should I thank your father for showing mercy?"
"Of course!" Yin Tianxue deliberately pulled a long face, but her eyes were brimming with laughter.
The two talked and laughed, the atmosphere in the car warm and harmonious. Dinner was also very pleasant, with exquisite food and an elegant environment. Yin Tianxue clearly loved the bracelet, lifting her wrist to glance at it from time to time. Watching her satisfied, smiling face, Yu Bo felt it was all worth it.
(The two have already moved in together)
The next morning, Yin Tianxue was awakened by a pervasive soreness in her body and a strange sensation—a mix of satisfaction and extreme exhaustion.
Heavy curtains blocked out most of the light, leaving the bedroom in a hazy gloom. She tried to turn over, only to find her waist so weak she could barely exert any strength, and there was a distinct, throbbing ache from overexertion on her inner thighs. Last night... memories flooded back like fragments.
He had been more... unrestrained than ever before. Or rather, it was a different kind of "restraint," one tinged with control and marking—he was incredibly patient and highly skilled. Each time, he seemed to reach the limit of what she could endure, only to pull her back from the brink of collapse, giving her a brief respite before casting her back into the surging waves in an even more agonizing way. He seemed tireless, confirming their existence and belonging to each other over and over again.
Yin Tianxue couldn't remember exactly when she finally fell asleep; she only vaguely recalled the horizon beginning to turn pale, while Yu Bo remained energetic. Finally, he had pulled her tightly into his sweat-dampened embrace, leaving a low, raspy breath and a muffled "go to sleep" in her ear.
At this moment, she was like a shell that had been completely emptied of its flesh, lying limply among the messy bedding, lacking even the strength to lift a finger. The spot beside her was already empty; Yu Bo had likely already gotten up.
The faint sound of water came from the bathroom. Yin Tianxue struggled to turn her head, looking at the blurred, tall figure behind the frosted glass door. A complex mix of emotions welled up in her heart—sweetness, satiety, along with a bit of bashful annoyance at his superhuman "combat power" and... a hidden trace of pride. Her man was indeed "brave" enough to make one's heart skip a beat in that regard.
The sound of water stopped, and the bathroom door was pulled open. Yu Bo walked out with a towel wrapped around his waist, his hair dripping wet. Droplets slid down his lean, sturdy chest and well-defined abdominal muscles. Seeing Yin Tianxue with her eyes open, looking at him with a dazed and misty gaze, a satisfied and tender smile immediately curved his lips.
He walked to the bedside, leaned over, and placed a light kiss on her sweat-dampened forehead. His voice carried the raspiness and magnetism of someone just waking up: "You're awake? How do you feel?"
Yin Tianxue glared at him, but unfortunately, because of her fatigue and lethargy, her gaze lacked any intimidation. Instead, it was like a kitten's paw, scratching at one's heart. "What do you think? I almost thought I was going to fall apart." Her voice was also terribly raspy.
Yu Bo chuckled low, reached into the blankets, and began to massage her sore waist with moderate pressure, his touch soothing. "My fault, I'll be more careful next time." He said the words, but his eyes clearly wrote "I'll dare to do it again next time."
Yin Tianxue enjoyed his service, humming comfortably, but her words remained sharp: "You say that every time."
"This time it's for real." Yu Bo's tone became more serious, but his hands didn't stop. "You're too tired. Don't go to the company today; stay home and rest. I'll call in for you."
Yin Tianxue thought about it; there was indeed an unimportant internal meeting today, so it was fine if she didn't go. Her body really couldn't take it. "Mm," she hummed vaguely and closed her eyes again.
Looking at her tired and dependent appearance, Yu Bo's heart softened into a mess, but a trace of guilt also rose within him. Last night, he had indeed lost control a bit. Part of it was passion, and the other part was the nameless fire brought by Shen Nian and an urgent need to firmly grasp and confirm his possession. He knew he shouldn't vent negative emotions on her in this way, but sometimes, the body's instinctive reactions preceded logic.
"I'll go make breakfast. What do you want to eat?" he asked softly.
"Anything, just something light," Yin Tianxue murmured.
"Okay." Yu Bo kissed her cheek again before getting up to change.
By the time Yu Bo had prepared a simple breakfast and brought it into the bedroom, Yin Tianxue had forced herself to sit up, leaning against the headboard. She was loosely clad in his shirt, her long hair disheveled, her cheeks still flushed from the aftermath—a picture of lazy charm.
Yu Bo placed the tray on the nightstand and looked at her. His eyes darkened for a moment, but he quickly restrained himself. "Eat something first to replenish your strength."
Yin Tianxue took small sips of the warm porridge, feeling her empty stomach and tired body being soothed. She looked up at Yu Bo; he was dressed formally today, as if he were going out.
"Are you going out?" she asked.
"Yes, I have an appointment with an important client this morning. This afternoon I need to head over to Bright Path to take a look. They're preparing to go to Deep City for the supply chain conference, so I need to finalize some details," Yu Bo said as he picked up a piece of toast, spread some jam on it, and handed it to her.
Yin Tianxue took it and nodded, asking no more. She trusted Yu Bo to handle his work matters well.
After breakfast, Yu Bo cleared the dishes and returned to the bedside. "I'll have the helper come over later to clean up. You get some good rest. Call me anytime if something comes up."
"I know, go on then, don't be late," Yin Tianxue urged.
Yu Bo leaned down, cupped her face, and gave her a deep kiss before reluctantly leaving. "I'll be back early tonight."
"Mm."
Hearing the sound of the front door closing, Yin Tianxue slid back under the covers, burying herself in the pillow that still carried Yu Bo's scent. The fatigue in her body was still clear, but her heart was full. She knew Yu Bo's urgency last night was unusual, but she interpreted it as passion after a short separation and an emotional release after meeting her father.
Yu Bo drove to the Listening to the Waves office. The morning client meeting was about a mid-to-late-stage project for new energy battery materials. The other party's valuation was high, but their technical barriers and team background were very solid. Yu Bo and his team analyzed it carefully and ultimately gave a quote lower than the other party's expectations, but added more flexible gambling clauses and resource introduction commitments. The negotiation process was intense; Yu Bo maintained clear logic and a powerful presence throughout, finally reaching a preliminary intention with the other party near noon.
After seeing off the client, Yu Bo stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window of his office, rubbing his tight temples. The high-intensity work made him temporarily forget those disturbances, but the string in his heart hadn't truly relaxed. He thought of Shen Nian and the so-called "help" she offered. It was undeniable that Shen Nian's resources were indeed beneficial to Bright Path, but he hated this feeling of being invisibly "bound" and "infiltrated."
In the afternoon, he arrived at the shared office space temporarily rented by Mingtu Technology. Zhou Ming, Lin Yuan, and Su Xiaoxiao were busy preparing materials for the supply chain conference in Deep City. Seeing Yu Bo arrive, they all gathered around him as if seeing their pillar of support.
