107: Chapter 107 A Land of Blessings

In the alley, those two parasitic creatures lunged forward.

Qin Yin did not retreat; she did not dodge or parry, but held her blade horizontally in front of her chest and charged straight toward the claw reaching for her face.

The blood Qi of a Second-turn Martial Artist erupted from within her body, surging violently through her meridians.

With the speed of a Second-turn Martial Artist, the instant the tip of the claw touched her face, her blade had already sliced into the opponent's chest and abdomen.

The tip of the blade pierced in from below the sternum, slanted upward, pierced through the heart, and protruded from the back.

Black blood gushed from the wound and splattered onto her hands, but she did not even frown.

That body stiffened for a moment, and the claw stopped in mid-air, only three inches away from her face.

She pulled out her blade, sidestepped, and let that body tumble down right in front of her.

Just as Qin Yin was pulling out her blade, another parasitic creature pounced from behind her, its claws scratching against her back.

Qin Yin's body staggered forward a step, but she steadied herself and did not fall.

A clump of earthy-yellow light lit up on her back; it was the Vajra Talisman pasted on her chest that had activated.

The earthy-yellow light burst from her back, forming a semi-transparent earthy-yellow light barrier that enveloped her entire back.

The light barrier remained completely motionless, while the claws of that parasitic creature shattered, black blood gushing out from the fracture.

It retreated two steps, tilted its head, and stared with its white eyes at that layer of semi-transparent earthy-yellow light barrier.

Right at this moment, a long spear thrust from behind it, the spear tip piercing in from the back of the head and coming out through the mouth.

The spear tip was stained with black juices and shredded flesh, gleaming with a cold light in the dim daylight.

Qin Mo's wrist twisted, stirring the spear shaft inside the parasitic creature's cranial cavity and producing a "crack, crack" sound.

Afterward, he pulled the spear out from the parasitic creature's mouth, and the parasitic creature toppled to the ground, twitched a few times, and stopped moving.

Roots drilled out from its wound, writhing in the air.

"Sis, are you okay?"

Qin Mo turned his head to look at Qin Yin.

Qin Yin did not answer; she turned around, took out the last Exorcism Talisman from her bosom, and aimed it at the parasitic creature whose chest and abdomen she had sliced open with her blade.

The talisman lit up, and a golden light instantly enveloped that parasitic creature.

The roots writhed in the golden light, frantically shrinking backward, retreating back into that body.

But they had nowhere to escape at all, turning into ashes under the golden light.

Even that black flower completely dissipated.

Qin Mo also took out an Exorcism Talisman from his bosom and aimed it at the other parasitic creature.

He similarly used the golden light to burn this parasitic creature into ashes.

Qin Mo shouldered his spear, watched the ashes being scattered by the wind, and grinned.

The things given by Lord Qinling were simply useful; even this kind of unkillable evil entity could be completely killed!

"Sis, I've cleaned up over there too."

Qin Mo turned his head, looked at Qin Yin, took the spear down from his shoulder, propped the spear tip on the ground, and supported his body.

"There's not a single parasitic creature left in the village."

Qin Yin withdrew her blade, thrust it back into her waist, looked around, and seeing no other parasitic creatures, let out a sigh of relief.

Footsteps came from behind, very light and very slow, as if afraid to step firmly.

Qin Yin turned her head; the woman from before was poking half her body out from behind the base of the wall, holding her daughter, her eyes wide open.

Another person came out from the alley entrance.

It was an old man with graying hair, a hunched back, leaning on a wooden stick with his hand, while the other end of the stick was trembling.

He stood at the alley entrance, staring at the two piles of ashes, making sure that no roots or black flowers were growing out of the ashes again.

Then he tucked the wooden stick under his arm, pressed his palms together, and bowed deeply toward Qin Yin and Qin Mo.

Then the third, the fourth, the fifth.

Those villagers hiding in the corners and cellars walked out one by one.

They stood in the alley, looking at the two young martial artists standing in the middle of the alley with their blood Qi surging all over, their eyes filled with reverence.

The village chief of Liuhe Village walked out from behind the crowd.

He was a middle-aged man named Lü Jing.

He walked up to Qin Yin, stopped, looked at her, and said,

"Young lady, where are you two from?"

"Qin Family Village."

Qin Yin responded, looking around at the surrounding situation.

Almost all the surviving villagers of Liuhe Village gathered around Qin Yin and Qin Mo.

There were tears, mud, and scabs of blood on their faces, making them look utterly disheveled.

But there was a kind of light in their eyes—the light that only people who had narrowly escaped death would have.

Clearly, the appearance of Qin Yin and Qin Mo made the villagers of Liuhe Village see a miracle that they could still survive.

Qin Yin and Qin Mo were not unfamiliar with this kind of gaze.

When Lord Qinling first began to manifest his divinity, the villagers of Qin Family Village had the exact same gaze.

Qin Yin cleared her throat and began,

"The two of us are believers under Lord Qinling of Qin Family Village. Coming to Liuhe Village today, we are acting on the divine decree of Lord Qinling."

"Lord Qinling said that Liuhe Village is in trouble and ordered us to come and save the common people."

"As long as your Liuhe Village also worships Lord Qinling, you will be able to receive Lord Qinling's protection!"

The crowd fell silent for a moment, and then discussions followed suit.

Someone asked in a low voice, "Who is Lord Qinling?";

Someone chimed in, "That deity from Qin Family Village, I heard my cousin mention it before";

Someone shook their head and said, "I've heard of it. I heard the deity in that temple is extremely miraculous; it can cure illnesses, perform Exorcisms, and bless people for safe voyages at sea".

If it were before, the villagers of Liuhe Village might not have believed in any talk of deities.

But after having just seen Qin Yin and Qin Mo eliminate the evil entities, their thoughts were no longer like that.

Furthermore, what else could they do even if they didn't believe?

They were not far from the county town, and by looking up in the village, they could see that sky-covering Evil Tree.

Its canopy was pitch-black, trapping the entire county town underneath.

Those who had escaped from the county town cried out, "It's over, it's all over."

They thought they would be finished too, and that Liuhe Village would end up like those other villages, crawled over by roots and devoured by evil entities.

Now someone was telling them that there was a deity who could save them, a deity willing to save them,

And this deity had even sent people to save them!

Why wouldn't they believe?

"I believe!"

The woman who had just been saved by Qin Yin squeezed out from the crowd, holding her child in her arms.

The child opened those watery, large eyes, not knowing what had happened.

Another person stepped forward and said,

"I believe too. I don't care where Lord Qinling was from before; today you two saved our lives under divine decree, and that Lord Qinling is the deity I am willing to worship!"

The third person, the fourth person, the fifth person...

More and more villagers of Liuhe Village shouted, "I believe."

Lü Jing, the village chief of Liuhe Village, stood in front of Qin Yin and said,

"Young lady, our Liuhe Village is willing to worship Lord Qinling starting today, but regarding this deity-inviting ritual, could you please tell us how it should be done?"

Hearing the words of the Liuhe Village chief, Qin Yin let out a sigh of relief.

No matter what, she had not let down Lord Qinling's expectations.

Lord Qinling, Liuhe Village will also be your land of blessings.
