145: Chapter 145: The Center of the Sacred Realm

Deep within the silt at the bottom of the Styx.

Morgan maintained his mimicry as an Oscillating Liquid Metal Crab, embedding himself into the mud and sand.

The stagnant water flowed through the gaps in his carapace, carrying away any potential fluctuations of life force that might leak out.

He dared not move a muscle.

In the waters above, a chaotic battle was erupting.

Thousands of native Bone Fish were besieging a group of Nether-Uranium Heavy Armor Beetles that had dived underwater.

Energy beams tore through the water, and bone spurs pierced through carapaces.

There was no communication, no probing; the moment the two sides met, they entered a state of life-or-death struggle.

Morgan rolled his eyes, observing the battle situation above.

His heart was filled with regret.

A few hours ago, he had witnessed Gangku and Aila being torn apart by the sea of insects.

He had originally intended to continue maintaining his mimicry as a Mad Sickle Shadow Blade Beetle to search for traces of Ren on the wasteland.

He had underestimated the terror of these insects.

He discovered that this insect race possessed a vast and rigorous mental network.

They did not need vocal communication; all their vision and perception were shared on the same frequency.

His perfect Blade Insect mimicry was flawless on a physical level, but it was completely unable to actively connect to the insect race's mental network.

A passing Worker Insect had only glanced at him before judging him to be a heretic without network access.

Hundreds of thousands of insects went mad on the spot, surging toward his location.

The Black Gold Blade-Feather Demon Vultures circling in the sky had sealed off the entire area.

The Void Wind Blades released by the Demon Vultures shredded every piece of cover along the way.

The pressure brought by the sky made Morgan abandon his plan to travel overland.

He used all his strength to flee to the edge of the Styx, forcibly changing his mimicry.

He turned into a Liquid Metal Crab and dove to the bottom of the water, barely managing to evade the first wave of the search.

He thought the bottom of the water would be better.

He was wrong.

The creatures in this God Realm were all a bunch of war maniacs.

They were fighting crazily all day and night.

Boom!

A violent explosion erupted in the waters above.

Dozens of Heavy Armor Beetles self-destructed simultaneously.

The violent Void Oscillation waves, carrying high-density stagnant water, smashed into the riverbed.

The silt above Morgan was instantly blown away.

The impact pulled him out of the mud pit, sending him tumbling hundreds of meters across the riverbed.

The Liquid Metal Crab's metal carapace was cracked with dense fractures.

The aura of his Time Demon Source could no longer be suppressed, leaking into the water flow through the cracks.

The Bone Fish and Heavy Armor Beetles fighting around him stopped their movements simultaneously.

Thousands of hollow eye sockets and compound eyes stared straight at Morgan.

Heretical aura.

The insect race's mental network synchronized this coordinate to the entire region.

Above the water, the sky suddenly turned dark.

Countless Demon Vultures and Bone Blade Bats obscured the lead-gray clouds.

On the wasteland by the shore, a pitch-black sea of insects surged into the Styx like a bursting flood.

They abandoned their mutual fighting, focusing all their killing intent on this intruder.

Morgan knew he could no longer hide.

He dispelled his mimicry, returning to his Time Demon Race true form.

His grayish-white bones surged, and he ripped off his cloak, raising the undead bone staff in his hand.

"Come forth!"

Morgan roared, injecting the Death Qi within him into the bone staff.

The crystal core at the tip of the bone staff erupted.

The mud and sand at the bottom of the water churned, and massive corpses fell out from Morgan's Storage Ring.

This was the wealth he had accumulated over hundreds of years of wandering the starry sky.

There were hundred-meter-long Starry Sky Giant Python skeletons, armored Orc corpse generals, and the incomplete bodies of Abyss Demons.

Over fifty thousand Platinum-rank undead creatures stood up, driven by the Death Qi.

Soul fire ignited in their hollow eye sockets as they stood in front of Morgan, forming a defensive line made of white bones and rotting flesh.

Morgan attempted to use these undead creatures to buy time and find a gap to break through.

However, the swarm did not give him that chance.

The hundreds of thousands of Corrosive Poison Blast Insects at the front rammed directly into the formation of the undead army.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A chain of explosions detonated at the bottom of the water.

Green corrosive venom, mixed with the destructive power of Void Oscillation, turned the surrounding waters into an absolute dead zone.

The skeletons of the Starry Sky Giant Pythons shattered inch by inch under the vibrations.

The heavy armor of the Orc corpse generals was melted into molten iron by the venom, turning into nothingness along with the rotting flesh inside.

Countless spatial rifts were sliced into the bodies of the Abyss Demons.

The fifty thousand high-rank undead creatures were suffering heavy losses in no time.

Morgan's face turned deathly pale.

His undead army was pitifully fragile in front of these insects.

The sea of insects continued to advance.

The dark gold patterns on the backs of the Heavy Armor Beetles lit up.

Tens of thousands of Titan gravity fields overlapped, compressing the water around Morgan into a solid harder than steel.

Void Oscillation reflected back and forth within the solid water, constantly stacking.

Space was completely solidified.

Morgan couldn't even complete the motion of raising his bone staff.

In his field of vision, the dense insect mouthparts kept enlarging.

The sea of insects completely submerged him.

The sound of sharp teeth tearing into bone echoed at the bottom of the water.

A few minutes later.

The swarm dispersed.

There was nothing left in place.

No blood, no remains, not even a trace of Soul fluctuation left behind.

A few guard-level Heavy Armor Beetles swam to the spot where Morgan had disappeared.

Their antennae collided, exchanging information through the mental network.

"Target vanished."

"No death residue detected."

"Verdict: Target used special spatial or energy transition ability to escape."

The swarm's compound eyes flashed with red light, and the mental network expanded again, beginning a carpet search of the surrounding area.

Ten kilometers away from the Styx.

In a corner of the wasteland covered in dark red rocks.

In the shadows behind a massive rock, a mass of grayish-white Death Qi appeared out of thin air.

The Death Qi writhed, gradually condensing into the outline of Morgan's body.

He knelt on the ground, opened his mouth, and spat out a large mouthful of black blood mixed with fragments of internal organs.

The grayish-white skin on his body peeled off in large patches, revealing the pulsating blood vessels and ghastly white bones beneath.

His aura, originally at the high Diamond Rank, plummeted in a straight line, only managing to stabilize after dropping to the low rank.

Morgan gasped for breath, his eyes filled with deep lingering fear.

"Necrotic Substitute Bone Puppet."

This was his core trump card, refined when he ascended to the Diamond Rank by consuming half of his Soul Origin.

At the moment of encountering a fatal attack, the life-box mechanism was triggered.

His main body forcibly converted into pure Death Qi, performing a spatial displacement with the bone puppet buried in the distance beforehand.

The price was extremely heavy.

His Realm fell, and his Soul was damaged.

Morgan leaned against the rock, trembling as he pulled a bottle of high-rank recovery potion from his Storage Ring, bit the bottle mouth open, and poured the liquid down his throat.

The potion turned into pure energy, repairing his damaged internal organs.

He let out a sigh of relief.

As long as he was alive, it was fine.

As long as he was still alive, there was hope.

He planned to return to the Styx once his injuries stabilized a little.

No matter how dangerous it was, he had to turn into a crab and hide in the silt.

His target was too large on land; the Demon Vultures in the sky would discover him at any moment.

Morgan was just about to mobilize the remaining Time Demon Source in his body to perform mimicry.

A hand suddenly rested on his shoulder.

Every hair on Morgan's body stood on end.

He hadn't noticed anything.

There was no spatial fluctuation, and the airflow had not changed.

Even though he was severely injured and weak, having fallen to the low Diamond Rank, he was still a battle-hardened starry sky wanderer.

To be able to touch his shoulder at this distance, if the other party wanted to kill him, they only needed to move a finger.

Morgan turned around violently, his right hand condensing a Death Qi bone blade, slashing directly at the neck of the person behind him.

The bone blade stopped in mid-air.

Two slender fingers firmly clamped the blade.

Morgan saw the person in front of him clearly.

Gray skin, cheeks covered in fine scales, and a pair of dark yellow vertical pupils without any emotional fluctuation.

"Captain..."

Morgan's voice trembled, and the bone blade instantly collapsed, dissipating into Death Qi.

Standing in front of him was none other than the missing Ren.

Ren's condition was also extremely poor.

The battle armor on his chest was shattered beyond recognition, revealing a deep, bone-exposed laceration beneath.

Morgan looked at Ren, his eyes instantly turning red.

This feeling was like walking alone in endless darkness for countless days and nights, only to finally see a light belonging to one of his own kind.

"Captain! You're still alive!" Morgan lowered his voice, his tone filled with excitement and grievance.

He spoke impatiently, pouring out everything he had encountered in the past few hours.

"Gangku and Aila betrayed us! They saw that Star Spirit Monument engraved with Titan genes and, in order to seize the Opportunity, directly tore up the agreement."

"They didn't care about the lives of those brothers in the camp at all!"

"They triggered the God Realm's Restriction and were besieged by hundreds of thousands of monsters."

"I saw with my own eyes Gangku being crushed by a Liquid Metal Crab and Aila being torn into pieces by insects!"

The more Morgan spoke, the more agitated he became, his teeth chattering with rage.

Ren listened quietly from the side.

His expression did not change at all.

He released the fingers clamping the bone blade, his gaze falling on Morgan's broken body.

"Hmm."

Ren responded indifferently.

This understated word left Morgan's emotions stuck in his throat.

"Li Xuan and K might be dead too," Ren continued.

Morgan was stunned.

He had originally thought that since Ren was still alive,

Li Xuan and K were likely with the captain as well; they were the strongest combat power in the team.

"How could that be... Where did they go?" Morgan's face turned deathly pale again.

"It doesn't matter anymore," Ren interrupted Morgan's questioning.

He raised his only remaining right hand, and a dark gold light, rich to the extreme, lit up at his fingertips.

Within this light contained a life aura that Morgan had never felt before.

"Absorb this mimicry." Ren tapped his finger on the center of Morgan's forehead.

Biological data and energy backflow surged into Morgan's mind.

Morgan's body convulsed.

He closed his eyes, fully analyzing this genetic data.

A few seconds later, Morgan opened his eyes, the Soul fire in his eye sockets flickering.

He was shocked.

Completely shocked.

As an elite of the Time Demon Race, he had followed Ren to plunder countless God Realms.

They had once infiltrated the Dragon Clan plane and mimicked pure-blooded Dragons.

They had also been to the Titan Great World and felt the power of giants.

But this genetic data shattered all his understanding.

The Titan power contained in the data was more violent and pure than any pure-blooded Titan he had ever seen.

The arrangement of muscle fibers and the density structure of the bones were simply born for destruction.

"Captain... this thing..." Morgan's voice was trembling.

"Shut up, mimic," Ren ordered coldly.

Morgan dared not say another word.

He fully mobilized all the Time Demon Source in his body, beginning to reorganize his body according to the genetic map in his mind.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Morgan's bones emitted dense cracking sounds, and his body began to swell crazily.

The grayish-white skin was replaced by a dark gold horny layer, and muscles bulged.

In just a dozen seconds.

Morgan turned into a terrifying giant beast nearly fifteen meters tall.

Liquid gold covered his entire body, and his thick arms hung down past his knees.

With every breath, hot Void air currents sprayed from his nostrils.

Morgan clenched his fists.

He felt that now, he could smash a mountain peak with a single punch.

The insects that had chased him before were just ants that could be crushed at will in front of this body.

This power made him intoxicated.

Ren looked at Morgan, who had completed the mimicry, and nodded slightly.

The next second, Ren's body also began to change.

His body grew taller, and his skin was covered by a layer of pure black, streamlined metal.

The surface had no reflection, devouring all surrounding light.

Black blades grew from his arms, and a pair of wings gathered from black gold unfolded behind his back.

Shadow Abyssal Demon.

The ultimate assassin, the Shadow Dominator in the Void Realm.

After Ren completed his mimicry, his entire aura completely disappeared from Morgan's perception.

If not for the fact that he could still see him standing there with his naked eyes, Morgan would have thought he had already left.

Ren extended his pitch-black blade arm and grabbed Morgan's shoulder.

"Let's go."

Ren's wings flapped behind him.

Space was sliced open.

Ren, carrying the mountain-sized Morgan, escaped directly into the shadows of the Void Realm.

The surrounding scenery receded rapidly.

Morgan looked ahead.

In that direction was the very center of the God Realm.
