6: Chapter 6: The deadly brawl between clans unexpectedly triggers the War Faith.

"Ding—!" The virtual classroom bell rang right on time.

The clamor in Class 2, Grade 12 vanished in a second.

Space on the podium distorted.

A middle-aged man wearing a black military uniform, his left sleeve hanging empty, appeared out of thin air.

He wore a buzz cut, and a hideous scar ran from the corner of his eye down to his chin.

The homeroom teacher, Teacher Lei Yan, a 5th-turn Demigod.

According to the hierarchy of the God World, awakening a Divine Domain at age eighteen only qualifies one as a divine creature in the awakening stage.

Beyond that, as the Divine Domain expands and familiars advance, one becomes a Demigod.

Demigods are divided into nine turns, with each turn involving the transformation of laws within the Divine Domain.

Teacher Lei Yan leaned on the podium with his one arm, his gaze sweeping across the neatly arranged virtual seats below.

He did not deliberately release his Demigod pressure, yet it still caused the students in the front row to hold their breath subconsciously.

"Yesterday's awakening ceremony has concluded. Several people in this class had impressive stats," Teacher Lei Yan's voice was hoarse and low.

"With families pouring tens of millions of Faith Points into them, their initial familiars reached the Bronze rank, and their Divine Domain environments are perfect. They've started ten years ahead of everyone else."

Upon hearing this, several top students straightened their backs.

They tried hard to suppress the smiles in their eyes, but the sense of superiority was impossible to hide.

In the God World, the power of money is a talent in its own right.

Teacher Lei Yan took in all these micro-expressions. Suddenly, he sneered.

"Feeling proud? Do you think that having a Divine Domain and being able to support thousands of believers means you can sit back, relax, and live as a superior being?"

Teacher Lei Yan straightened up and tapped his finger on the desk. "Do you think being a god is just playing a farming simulator? Harvesting crops, listening to prayers, and then lying in a villa counting Faith Points?"

The atmosphere in the classroom plummeted. Without wasting words, Teacher Lei Yan waved his hand.

A holographic projection screen unfurled over the blackboard out of thin air. An unedited video began to play.

The background of the footage was the vast, boundless sea of stars. A massive planet hung in the center—the [Divine Kingdom] of a certain True God.

According to common knowledge in the realm of gods, only a True God who has comprehended a trace of cosmic laws and condensed a [Godhead] in the depths of their soul can fully materialize their illusory Divine Domain and elevate it into a Divine Kingdom.

Within the Divine Kingdom, mountains and rivers were magnificent, and countless angels with snowy white wings patrolled the skies. The next second.

The crystal wall system at the edge of the star sea shattered with a boom. Gray-black mist poured in like a tsunami.

Hundreds of millions of Abyssal Zerg, their bodies as large as mountains, crawled out from the cracks. Ignoring the Divine Kingdom's shields, they gnawed at the barriers of law.

In the footage, a phantom of a True God, towering ten thousand feet high, rose from the center of the Divine Kingdom. Wielding a spear of thunder, he destroyed hundreds of thousands of Zerg with a single swing.

But from behind the swarm, a massive black claw covered in compound eyes reached out from the void. Ignoring the thunder, the giant claw grabbed the head of the True God's phantom and squeezed hard.

The True God's phantom shattered, and golden divine blood spattered across the starry sky. In just over ten seconds, the Divine Kingdom was completely submerged and devoured by the swarm.

The projection split. A surveillance video appeared on the right, showing the interior of a frontline fortress of the Human Star Sea Alliance. A middle-aged man in a high-ranking officer's uniform sat before a command console.

At the exact moment the True God's phantom in the video was crushed, the officer's body suddenly convulsed violently. "Bang!" His physical body exploded, spraying gore and blood across the walls of the command room in a radial pattern.

The video ended, and the projection vanished. Silence filled the virtual classroom. Several girls covered their mouths, their faces turning pale as suppressed retching sounds escaped their throats.

The top students who had been smug just moments ago now felt their legs go weak, slumping back in their chairs. The cruel reality had been laid bare before these eighteen-year-olds.

"Did you see that?" Teacher Lei Yan leaned on the podium, his gaze sharp as a blade.

"That is the fate of a Lesser True God. You aren't even Demigods yet; in the eyes of Abyssal monsters, you don't even qualify as a snack."

"The times haven't changed. This place has always been a meat grinder," Teacher Lei Yan's voice echoed throughout the classroom.

"Do not treat your Divine Domain like a sheep pen! The rifts of the Abyss are expanding every day, and people are dying on the front lines every day! Remember, we are gods, but above all, we are soldiers!"

He turned around and used his only remaining arm to write four large characters on the holographic blackboard: War Faith.

"Why does the Federal University only value combat-oriented divine vocations during admissions? Why can't gods of lifestyle or logistics ever enter the core circle?"

"Because when Abyssal monsters break through the front lines and descend into reality, the fragile physical bodies of lifestyle gods cannot even withstand a single swipe of a monster's claw!"

"The general-purpose Faith Points generated by ordinary believers praying daily can only be used for trading and maintaining the operation of your Divine Domain."

"Only when your familiars constantly fight, bleed, and endure life-and-death trials within your Divine Domain will their fanatical emotions give birth to [War Faith]."

"And this form of faith is what can best nourish your physical bodies in reality, granting you the power to move mountains and fill seas!"

Lin Yuan, sitting in a corner in the back row, felt his eyelids twitch slightly upon hearing this.

No wonder when he woke up this morning, he could lift a fifty-jin solid wood table with one hand.

The hundred Petrified Goblins had been fighting to the death on the Wasteland to digest the medicinal power of the poisonous mushrooms, unintentionally triggering the production mechanism for War Faith.

"Teacher Lei Yan." A voice laced with tears broke the silence.

It was a commoner student who had awakened the F-rank [Plant Growth] talent. She stood up, her body trembling slightly.

"Then, for those of us who awakened trash talents or are destined to only follow a logistics path... are we just waiting to die?"

The atmosphere in the classroom became stifling. More than half the students in the class lowered their heads.

Resources, talent, background—these things were set the moment one awakened.

Teacher Lei Yan looked at the student, his icy gaze softening slightly. He remained silent for a few seconds.

"The nation needs logistics," Teacher Lei Yan's tone remained blunt.

"Fighting on the front lines requires massive quantities of food cards, ore cards, and basic materials."

"As long as you work yourselves to the bone producing resources to supply the front lines, the armies there can protect you."

"However," Teacher Lei Yan's tone grew heavier.

"You must understand one truth: if you entrust your safety to others, your fate will always be in their hands."

These words struck the hearts of many commoner students. A thick sense of powerlessness permeated the entire virtual classroom.

Lin Yuan sat in his seat. On the surface, like the students around him, he kept his head down, appearing crushed by the cruel reality.

But his eyes were exceptionally bright.

Flashes of Old Lin's rusted mechanical prosthetic limb raced through his mind. He recalled images of Old Lin, late at night, sweating profusely from the pain of his shattered Godhead, biting down on the corner of his quilt, not daring to make a sound.

Old Lin had once been a True God on the front lines, someone who had entrusted his back to his comrades. But when the front lines collapsed, half of his Divine Kingdom was devoured by monsters, and his Godhead shattered. He ended up a cripple, having to carefully count his pennies just to buy cheap shochu.

Fate in the hands of others? Lin Yuan's hands clenched slightly beneath the desk. Absolutely not.
