154: Chapter 154: All Monsterized

The resonant ripples of heaven and earth's power penetrated the purplish-red crust and toxic miasma.

The Insect King's consciousness network covered the entire New Continent.

The ripples swept across the Underworld River, swept across the wasteland, expanding outward all the way, and finally reached the border zone where the New Continent met the Old Divine Realm.

There, a hazy gray energy barrier stood.

The Veil of Time.

The ripples penetrated this spatial secret technique, projecting all the scenes within into the Insect King's mind.

Deep underground, the Insect King's slender body paused slightly.

Its narrow compound eyes lit up with an eerie purple glow.

It saw an incredible sight.

Inside the energy barrier, there were dozens of native creatures.

Demon Vultures, Liquid Metal Crabs, and Multi-headed Bats.

These were the lowest-level predators within the Divine Realm.

Normally, they were products of the Divine Realm, and under the scan of the resonant ripples, they would never produce any rejection reaction.

But now, the feedback returned by the ripples was extremely bizarre.

Within the bodies of these native creatures, another completely unfamiliar Soul fluctuation was actually perfectly integrated.

Two completely different life forms were crudely stitched together.

The bones of an aerial race, the shells of a marine race, and the flesh of that alien race with mimicry talents were fused into one.

The Insect King's mental tentacles trembled slightly in the Void Realm, transmitting an emotion called "pleasant surprise."

It knew all too well the difficulty of such Fusion.

For the Bug Race to plunder an excellent gene, they had to pay a significant price.

The Broodmother devours prey and extracts effective gene fragments.

Laying the first generation of Worker Insects.

The Worker Insects fight, die, and feed back.

The Broodmother optimizes again and lays the second generation.

Repeating this cycle, it takes at least a dozen generations of genetic iteration and elimination.

To barely stabilize a brand-new branch of the Bug Race.

This was the iron Law of biological evolution.

But the group of aliens before its eyes had broken this iron Law.

They directly used physical means to stuff themselves into the bodies of native creatures.

Utilizing the Spiritual Qi of this place as a catalyst, they completed cross-species gene Fusion.

This kind of genetic inclusiveness, this adaptability to heretical Laws...

...could be called a perfect evolutionary foundation.

The Insect King withdrew its mental pressure.

It had originally planned to mobilize the Dominator Bugs to crush this group of rats hiding in the dark, dragging them back, skin and bones, to use as nourishment.

Now, it changed its mind.

To directly obliterate them would be too much of a waste.

The Insect King issued a brand-new command to the millions of Bug Race army units distributed across the border zone.

Stop the purging.

Restrain your auras, dig into the ground, and lie in wait.

Build an encirclement with a diameter of fifty kilometers centered around that gray barrier.

It wanted to give this group of aliens enough time and space.

It wanted to watch with its own eyes how this group of aliens would develop their incredible genetic potential to the absolute limit.

When the fruit was completely ripe, the Bug Race would carry out a unified harvest.

...

Within the Veil of Time.

The laboratory.

Mor was currently cutting open the carapace of a Liquid Metal Crab.

Just as the blade touched the shell, Mor's wrist trembled.

A sudden, baseless chill welled up in his heart.

He felt as if he had been seen right through.

Even the secrets deep within his Soul had been stripped completely bare by some high and mighty existence.

Mor threw down the cutting knife and, with a flash of his body, rushed out of the laboratory.

Standing in the center of the camp, his hands quickly formed hand seals as the gray Time Demon Source poured into the surrounding spatial nodes.

The light of the Veil of Time flared brilliantly.

Mor closed his eyes, using his Mental Energy to trace the formation lines, checking the integrity of the barrier inch by inch.

No cracks, no energy leakage, and no intrusion of any external aura.

Everything was normal.

A few minutes later, Mor opened his eyes and let out a long breath of turbid air.

"An illusion?"

Mor reached up and rubbed his brow.

The Veil of Time was a core secret technique he had personally set up; even if a Diamond Rank powerhouse launched a heavy assault, it could hold out for some time.

It was impossible for anything to penetrate it silently.

He turned his head to look at his clansmen kneeling around him, their eyes numb.

A self-deprecating sneer curled at the corner of Mor's mouth.

"It seems that after doing too many bad deeds, one starts to suspect ghosts in every shadow."

He attributed the throbbing just now to the malicious curses directed at him from the depths of these clansmen's hearts.

The sound of an airlock depressurizing rang out.

The adjutant dragged his heavy footsteps as he walked in from outside the veil.

Behind him followed a dozen scarred guards. The guards used alloy chains to drag dozens of freshly captured native creatures.

Demon Vultures, Multi-headed Bats, Liquid Metal Crabs, and even a few barbed Bone Fish.

All of them were at the early Gold Rank in strength.

"Leader, the prey has been brought back," the adjutant knelt on one knee.

Mor swept his gaze over the prey, his brow furrowing slightly.

"Why is there so little?"

The adjutant raised his head, his face full of bitterness.

"The creatures in this godforsaken place are too bizarre. Any random low Gold Rank beast can unleash high-rank combat power."

"And they are extremely united; wound one, and a whole pack is drawn. We didn't dare to go deep at all and could only catch these isolated, low-level things in the border zone."

The adjutant pointed to the personal guard behind him, which was missing a few people.

"Just to catch these dozens, I lost another two brothers."

Mor paid no heed to the adjutant's complaints.

All he wanted were the physical vessels; their strength didn't matter.

As long as they could host the Souls of the Time Demon Race, they could always raise their Realms later by devouring Spiritual Qi.

"Send the prey into the laboratory."

Mor turned and walked back toward the metal door.

"The speed is too slow. With over a thousand people, how long will it take to cut them all with just these few scalpels?"

Mor stood before the dissection table and unclasped the damaged Nano-Armor on his body.

The metal scales of the armor squirmed like living things.

Mor activated the deep modification form of the Technology Faction.

The Nano-Armor rapidly liquefied, drilling into his body through his pores and connecting with his bones and nerves.

*Crack, crack.*

The skin on Mor's back, shoulders, waist, and abdomen split open.

Over a dozen sharp mechanical arms burst out of his body.

The end of each mechanical arm was equipped with a high-frequency cutting knife, a nerve suturing needle, and an energy stabilizer syringe.

"Bring the people in," Mor's voice, amplified mechanically, became completely devoid of emotion.

The assembly line operation officially began.

The first to suffer were the ordinary clansmen who had lost their will to resist.

The adjutant and the personal guard herded them into the laboratory in batches like driving livestock.

The mechanical arms sliced open the clansmen's spines, stripping away their brains and nerve bundles.

Simultaneously, the mechanical arms on the other side sliced open the bodies of the native monsters, gutting them.

Suturing, injecting stabilizers, and infusing Spiritual Qi.

Shrill, miserable screams echoed in the laboratory as blood flowed down the grooves of the dissection table, gathering into a dark red stream.

Once the ordinary clansmen were used up, it was the Formation Masters' turn.

These technical personnel who maintained the camp's operations were mercilessly stuffed into the shells of Liquid Metal Crabs by Mor.

Finally, it was the turn of the personal guards who had been acting as accomplices all along.

When the captain of the personal guard was pinned to the dissection table by Mor's mechanical arms, he finally broke down.

"Leader! I have always been fiercely loyal to you!"

The cutting knife of the mechanical arm did not pause in the slightest, directly severing his cervical spine.

Three days and three nights.

The shadowless lamps of the laboratory were never extinguished.

Until the center of the camp was filled with over a thousand deformed monsters of various shapes and sizes.

Within the Veil of Time, the normal language of the Time Demon Race could no longer be heard.

There was only the clicking sound of grinding bones, the whistling of flapping wings, and the hissing of opening and closing mouthparts.

The entire camp had completely degenerated into a bizarre monster nest.

In front of the laboratory doors.

Only Mor and the adjutant were left.

The mechanical arms behind Mor slowly retracted into his body, and the flesh at the wounds automatically bound together.

Covered in blood, he spread his arms and raised his head.

"Look, adjutant."

Mor's voice was filled with fanatical intoxication.

"This is my masterpiece. This is the only form in which our Time Demon Race can continue to exist in this world."

Standing below the steps, the adjutant was shaking like a leaf.

He looked at the thousand-plus monsters below.

Those monsters' eyes reflected his pale face.

The adjutant knew that it was his turn.

Pushing the last cart loaded with a Demon Vulture's body, he walked up to Mor.

When Mor picked up the high-frequency cutting knife on the dissection table, the adjutant finally realized that he was still alive.

He knelt on the ground with a thud, his hands clutching Mor's thighs.

"Leader... Leader! You promised me!"

The adjutant spoke incoherently, his face smeared with saliva and tears.

"You said you would save the most perfect body for me! This Demon Vulture is too weak; it's not worthy of me!"

Mor looked at him coldly, without saying a word.

Seeing that Mor was unmoved, the adjutant's mind fell into extreme chaos, and he began to speak incoherently.

"I'll keep my memories, right? Can I still think? After I turn into a bird, can I still hold a gun?"

"No... Leader, if I change, who will help you as an assistant?"

"How can you complete the final Fusion alone? You also need someone to help you hold the knife!"

"Keep me! I'll be your dog for the rest of my life! I also know how to suture nerves!"

A trace of annoyance flashed in Mor's eyes.

"Noisy."

Mor raised his right leg and kicked the adjutant squarely in the chest.

The sound of bones cracking rang out.

The adjutant flew backward and crashed heavily onto the dissection table.

Before the adjutant could struggle to his feet, Mor was already upon him.

The high-frequency cutting knife in his hand turned into a silver flash, directly slicing open the adjutant's throat.

Blood gushed out, choking back all of the adjutant's pleas for mercy.

Mor's movements were swift, and his technique was even cruder than when he used the mechanical arms.

Slicing open the flesh, removing the bones, and extracting the nerve bundles.

He forcibly stuffed the adjutant's mangled body into the thoracic cavity of that early Gold Rank Demon Vulture.

A large amount of eerie blue stabilizer was injected.

Dark gold Spiritual Qi was funneled into the Demon Vulture's body through the tubes.

Half an hour later.

The Demon Vulture on the dissection table twitched.

It slowly opened its eyes.

Its pale bone beak opened, emitting a wheezing shriek.

The adjutant had come back to life.

He clearly remembered who he was, what his name was, and that he was the adjutant of the Time Demon Race.

But he could not think.

His mind was a complete blank; all logical computing abilities and all emotional fluctuations were entirely suppressed by beastly instincts.

He lowered his head, looking at his wings covered in bone spurs and his sharp talons.

The fear in his heart had vanished, leaving only emptiness.

The adjutant raised his head and looked at Mor standing before him.

A sense of submission originating from the depths of his genes welled up in his heart.

Folding his wings, his body prostrated on the metal floor, pressing his head against the edge of Mor's boot.

Submit, submit to him.

Looking at the adjutant at his feet, Mor nodded.

"This is much more pleasing to the eye."

Mor turned and walked out of the laboratory.

Standing on the high platform, he looked down at the thousand-plus monsters below.

Wild laughter rumbled out of his throat, shaking the Veil of Time and causing layers of ripples to rise.

"Did you think I was using you for experiments?"

Mor tore off the tattered clothing on his body.

"Did you think I really cared about the bloodline of the Time Demon Race?"

Mor's body began to undergo violent changes.

His grayish-white skin split open inch by inch; no blood flowed out, only dark purple mucus.

"Three hundred years ago, in that Bug Race plane, I was already no longer a member of the Time Demon Race!"

*Crack!*

The bones of Mor's arms swelled wildly, and his muscles tore.

A pair of Liquid Metal Crab pincers covered in dark gold barbs replaced his hands.

*Rip!*

His back bulged high, and his spine protruded outward, transforming into two pale bone wings with a wingspan of over five meters.

On both sides of his cheeks, fish gill slits curled outward, and several purple tentacles covered in suction cups squirmed out.

At his throat, the vocal cord structure was completely reorganized, turning into the compound vocal organ of a Multi-headed Bat.

Mor revealed his true form.

An ultimate stitched monster assembling the biological characteristics of the Divine Realm.

Except for his head, which still retained the characteristics of the Time Demon Race...

...every organ and every inch of flesh on his entire body had already been replaced with parts of native creatures.

In that Bug Race plane, he had survived by devouring the Bug Queen.

Now, he followed the same pattern, stitching the products of this Divine Realm into his own body.

"Adaptation is truth!"

Mor flapped his bone wings, whipping up a wild gale.

He opened his Liquid Metal Crab pincers, greedily inhaling the rich Spiritual Qi in the air.

The Spiritual Qi entered his body.

There was no rejection, and no mutational backlash.

Pure energy surged through his pieced-together Meridians.

Transcendence was right before his eyes!

Mor felt the surging power in his body, his eyes blood-red.

Looking at the restless monsters below, he let out a wild laugh.

"Revel! My subjects!"

"Devour the Spiritual Qi of this heaven and earth! Devour the flesh and blood around you!"

"Evolve! Grow stronger! And then follow me to trample this world!"

The command was issued.

The monster army fell into madness.

Their long-suppressed beastly instincts broke out completely.

A Liquid Metal Crab waved its limbs, piercing the abdomen of a nearby Demon Vulture, gulping down the spilling internal organs.

Not to be outdone, the Demon Vulture pecked out the Liquid Metal Crab's eyes with its bone beak, tearing at its shell.

Multi-headed Bats swooped down from midair, biting their companions' necks and greedily sucking their blood.

The monsters slaughtered and devoured each other.

Severed limbs flew everywhere, and blood stained the purplish-red soil even more glaringly.

Even the red little tree in the camp, which had been quiet, felt this extreme madness.

Its dark red leaves swayed, making a rustling sound.

Its roots burst from the ground, plunging into the pools of blood on the floor to greedily suck up the blood.

The liquid metal luster on the trunk grew brighter and brighter, spewing out even denser Spiritual Qi, further catalyzing the mutations of the monsters.

The revelry reached its peak.

Mor stood on high with his bone wings wide open, enjoying this ultimate chaos.

He felt unprecedentedly powerful.

He believed he held the authority of the new world.

He believed this revelry was the prelude to the rise of the Time Demon Race.

Just then.

Amid the noise of the revelry, a subtle sound emerged.

*Rustle, rustle.*

Countless hard objects were scraping against the ground.

Mor's smile froze on his face, and he looked toward the edge of the Veil of Time.

He saw that outside the gray spatial barrier...

...at some point, the toxic miasma had stopped howling.

In its place was a silver-black ocean that stretched as far as the eye could see.

Heavy Armor Beetles, Plasma Bugs, Spine Bugs...
