155: Chapter 155: The Revealed Truth

Deep within the Blood Abyss Sea.

The dark red blood-water was viscous and heavy.

Morgan submerged most of his body in the blood-water, keeping even his breathing incredibly shallow.

A few days ago, leaning against this reef and looking up at the Demon Tree overhead, he had confidently declared to Rayne that this place was paradise.

As long as they kept soaking in it and eating the falling sarcomas, they would sooner or later return to their Peak.

But now, he didn't even have the courage to look up at the trunk of the Demon Tree.

In the center of the blood sea, a Tyrant over fifty meters tall was hovering just above the water's surface.

It made no movement, yet the surrounding space warped with its every breath.

The blood-water parted on its own beneath the Tyrant's feet, forming a vacuum zone several hundred meters in diameter.

There was no leakage of energy fluctuations; it was entirely pure physical repulsion.

That was the power of heaven and earth.

Morgan's eye twitched.

He had wandered the starry sky for hundreds of years and had seen countless powerful experts.

In the system of the human Divine Realm, only by breaking through to the Transcendent Rank could one initially harness the world power within the Divine Realm to form an absolute Domain suppression.

Only in some special alien planes was it possible for a Diamond Rank to master world power.

An insurmountable chasm existed between the Diamond Rank and the Transcendent Rank.

Yet the monster leader in front of them, who had just broken through to the Diamond Rank, had actually shattered this ironclad rule.

As the Tyrant hovered there casually, the surrounding Void Realm automatically reorganized, turning into layers of visible barriers.

Such a level of control over the power of heaven and earth, combined with the Violent Demon Race's already abnormal dual-sequence Fusion Physique.

Morgan had no doubt that even if this monster were to face an ordinary Transcendent right now, it could clash with them head-on.

Rayne surfaced from the bottom of the blood-water and leaned next to Morgan.

The two exchanged a glance, both seeing the deep wariness in each other's eyes.

"Don't use any of your Origin," Rayne whispered, the vibration of his vocal cords extremely minimal.

Morgan nodded stiffly.

They didn't even dare to use the most basic Void Stealth now.

The Tyrant's mastery over the power of heaven and earth meant that every blade of grass, every tree, and every drop of blood-water in this basin was within its sensory network.

If they dared to mobilize even a shred of the Soul Origin belonging to the Time Demon Race...

Or even slightly reveal any energy circulation path that did not belong to the Violent Demon Race...

The power of heaven and earth covering the entire area would instantly lock onto them.

When that happened, with just a thought from the Tyrant, the surrounding space would crush them into mincemeat.

They could only play dead.

Disguising themselves as two Tyrant Demons who knew nothing but soaking in the water.

If other Tyrant Demons came to fight for territory, they would retreat.

If other Tyrant Demons came to provoke them, they would endure it.

Two elite members of the Time Demon Race who had once slaughtered countless lives in the starry sky were now living in constant fear within the Blood Abyss Sea.

In the center of the basin, beneath the trunk of the Demon Tree.

The Tyrant was entrenched here.

Its over fifty-meter-tall body rested as its black-gold wings hung down naturally.

The Tyrant opened its eyes, and two beams of bloody light swept across the entire basin.

It was very satisfied with the scene before it.

After its previous few periods of secluded cultivation, the Divine Realm had always been in utter chaos upon its emergence.

Either those bugs on the periphery were waging wars everywhere, leaving the borders of the Divine Realm in turmoil...

Or within the Tyrant Demon horde, these big guys refused to submit to one another, beating each other's brains out and suffering heavy casualties just to fight for the temporary title of boss.

In contrast, with its emergence this time, things in the basin were clearly much better.

There was no factionalism, nor any large-scale internal strife.

There was only the purest, most primitive one-on-one slaughter.

The victors ate the meat, while the losers turned to dust.

Just as the Tyrant was admiring the fruits of its rule...

A strange fluctuation crossed a vast distance, penetrated the basin's Spiritual Qi barrier, and transmitted into its consciousness.

It was a message from the Insect King.

The content of the message was very simple.

The Insect King told the Tyrant that he had some good news and invited the Tyrant to come over and take a look, while also discussing some matters.

The Tyrant split open its giant, fanged maw and sneered.

It smacked its lips, a flash of cruelty passing through its dark gold vertical pupils.

Discuss?

What right did that bug, who only knew how to hide underground, have to discuss anything with it?

With a moment's thought, the Tyrant understood.

This bug, just like itself, had also broken through to the Diamond Rank.

Having also moved its base to the New Continent, the insect swarm was growing larger and larger.

It probably felt it now had the capital to oppose the Tyrant, and wanted to use this so-called "good news"...

...to test the bottom line of the Violent Demon Race, and show off its military might in the process.

The Tyrant stood up.

Since the bug wanted to show off, it would go and take a look.

If the other party couldn't produce anything of real value and was simply trying to provoke it...

...it wouldn't mind leading the group of starved, impatient Tyrant Demons beneath it to make those insects remember once more...

...the fear of being dominated by the Violent Demon Race, back when they didn't even dare to approach the Core Area.

The Tyrant threw back its head and let out a wild roar.

The roar, laced with the lingering resonance of the power of heaven and earth, reverberated throughout the entire basin.

All fighting within the basin ground to a halt.

Hundreds of thousands of Tyrant Demons turned their heads simultaneously, looking toward the Demon Tree.

The command was issued.

March!

Within the basin, hundreds of thousands of Tyrant Demons rose at the same time.

Their wings spread, blotting out the bloody light above the basin.

Hundreds of thousands of Tyrant Demons followed the Tyrant's guidance, turning into a torrent that surged directly out of the basin.

At the edge of the blood sea.

Rayne and Morgan were forced to stand up from the water.

The surrounding Tyrant Demons were all on the move; if they continued to soak in the water, they would stand out as anomalies.

"Keep up," Rayne squeezed out two words through gritted teeth.

The two blended into the mid-to-rear section of the army.

They were surrounded by peers over twenty meters tall, all exuding the aura of high-tier Platinum.

Their mimicked bodies appeared utterly unremarkable in the ranks, placing them squarely at the bottom as mere cannon fodder.

The march of the Tyrant Demon army was simple and brutal.

They marched in a straight line.

Ahead lay a dark red Peak thousands of meters high.

The Tyrant Demon army did not detour.

Tens of thousands of Tyrant Demons at the very front unleashed their power simultaneously, their heavy fists converging into a meteor shower that smashed into the mountain.

Rumble!

The Peak exploded from the middle, sending shattered rocks flying through the air.

The army ran right over it, passing through the rain of stones.

Ahead was a tributary of the Nether River several dozen kilometers wide.

Viscous dead water churned, with countless Bone Fish lurking within.

The Tyrant hovered in midair, not even sparing it a glance.

Hundreds of thousands of Tyrant Demons charged into the riverbed, completely filling it with their physical bodies.

The Tyrant Demons in front stopped in their tracks, while those behind trampled over their companions' bodies to continue the charge.

In just over ten minutes, this tributary of the Nether River was forcibly cut off.

The silt at the bottom of the riverbed was trampled as hard as iron.

Those Bone Fish and crabs didn't even have room to resist, instantly trampled into bone meal.

The flocks of Demon Vultures circling in the sky sensed this world-destroying aura from over a hundred kilometers away and fled frantically in all directions.

Rayne and Morgan were sandwiched in the middle of the ranks, stumbling along as they followed the main force.

Morgan's heart hammered wildly as he watched the mountains ahead leveled and the Nether River trampled dry.

"Captain, what are they trying to do?" Morgan transmitted the message to Rayne through slight physical contact.

Rayne's face was ashen.

"Shut up and keep your head down," Rayne replied.

Their current status was simply too low.

In the hierarchy of the Violent Demon Race, without strength, one had no right to speak.

They could only go with the flow, praying that their destination was not some death trap.

They didn't know how long they ran.

On the horizon ahead, at the border of the New Continent.

The Tyrant Demon army came to a halt.

Hundreds of thousands of Tyrant Demons spread out, forming a black-gold battle line spanning dozens of kilometers.

Currents of Void Realm energy swirled around them, ready to tear apart anything in front of them at any moment.

Rayne and Morgan stood at the rear of the ranks, peering through the gaps between the Tyrant Demons ahead to look at the opposite side.

An insect army.

Millions of Heavy Armor Beetles, Plasma Bugs, Acid Beetles... were lined up in neat arrays.

Two completely different auras clashed in the air above the wasteland.

Right at that moment...

The insect army split down the middle to open a path.

A group of monsters of various shapes and sizes, driven by several thousand high-tier Guard Insects, slowly walked to the front of the two armies.

Rayne's pupils contracted, and Morgan's breath hitched.

Before them were over a thousand monsters.

There were Liquid Metal Crabs with Demon Vulture wings, Multi-headed Bats covered in tentacles, and deformed Bone Fish with bones protruding outward.

These monsters looked extremely weak; most were only at the Low-tier Gold, and even the strongest was only at the High-tier Gold.

In the confrontation between the two major overlord races, they didn't even have the qualifications to be cannon fodder.

Rayne's gaze landed on a Demon Vulture at the very front.

Its eyes were hollow and unfocused, merely crouching on the ground by instinct, shivering violently.

Rayne's hands began to tremble.

Highly unstable gray ripples surged across the surface of his dark gold armor.

Morgan grabbed Rayne's arm, his nails digging deep into Rayne's flesh.

"Captain..." Morgan's voice echoed in Rayne's mind, laced with uncontrollable terror.

They felt it.

That aura.

That kindred aura, deeply rooted in the deepest depths of the Soul, which no physical shell could conceal.

The Souls of the Time Demon Race.

Inside these over one thousand deformed monsters, every single one of them housed the Souls of their Time Demon clansmen.

Rayne stared at that Demon Vulture.

He recognized it.

The Soul fluctuation of that Demon Vulture belonged to his Time Demon adjutant.

The adjutant who had followed him to battle across the starry skies for hundreds of years and had once blocked a fatal blow for him.

Now, his adjutant's Soul had been forcibly crammed into this lowly shell.

No sanity, no dignity—nothing but a walking corpse ruled by beastly instincts.

His gaze shifted.

Beside it, the tentacled Liquid Metal Crab's Soul fluctuation belonged to the Formation Master from their camp.

The deformed Bone Fish behind them were all elites from his personal guard.

Rayne's gaze quickly swept over the entire group of monsters. Over a thousand.

The numbers barely matched up.

All of their clansmen left behind in the border camp were right here.

Wiped out.

And in this most humiliating, most cruel manner.

Rayne bit through his lip, dark gold blood trickling down the corner of his mouth.

Who did this?

The local natives, the Insect Race, certainly didn't have this kind of ability.

This kind of crude physical stitching and Soul transfer could only be done by a race proficient in life modification.

Mor.

This name popped into Rayne's mind.

Only that madman Mor would do something so insanely depraved.

Mor had turned all of their clansmen into monsters.

Then, these monsters had been rounded up by the Insect Race, treated as trophies or exhibition pieces, and sent here.

This speculation leaped into Rayne's mind.

They had carried the hopes of their entire race, risking their lives to infiltrate the Core Area in search of a cure.

They had endured humiliation, soaking in the blood-water and playing dead.

In the end, their home had been raided.

Their top talents, their clansmen, had all been turned into monsters whose existence was worse than death.

Morgan's body began to sway, his mental defenses on the verge of collapsing.

"They... how could they have become like this..." Morgan's consciousness screamed.

He wanted to rush out.

He wanted to tear open that Demon Vulture's shell and pull out the adjutant's Soul.

He wanted to question this world, asking why it had treated them this way.

"Don't move," Rayne pinned Morgan in place, grabbing him by the neck.

Rayne's eyes were bloodshot.

He watched helplessly as his former comrades-in-arms lay in the mud like cattle, bearing the crushing weight of the two overlord races' auras.

A Tyrant Demon seemed to take an interest in these strange creatures and strode forward.

Reaching out with a dark gold hand, it grabbed the Demon Vulture.

The Demon Vulture let out a shrill, agonizing shriek, its wings flapping frantically.

The Tyrant Demon tilted its head and grabbed the Demon Vulture's wings with both hands.

Rip!

Blood splattered.

The Demon Vulture was torn clean in half, its internal organs and shredded flesh crashing to the ground.

The Soul fluctuation belonging to the adjutant dissipated along with it.

Rayne's pupils dilated.

His heart felt as though it had been crushed by an invisible, giant hand.

The Tyrant Demon tossed the Demon Vulture's corpse to the ground and shook the blood off its hands in disgust.

To it, this was merely a slightly unusual bug, not even enough to pick its teeth with.

Seeing this...

...the grayish-white Time Demon Source began to leak from Morgan's armor.

"I told you not to move!" Rayne erupted with all his strength, pinning Morgan firmly beneath him.

Rayne raised his head, his gaze bypassing the Tyrant Demon army ahead to look at that god-like Tyrant in the sky.
