31: Chapter 31: Tycoon Bi Qian Sells Himself into Being a Dog, Tears It Up on the Spot and Blocks Everyone

After reading the last clause, Lin Yuan sneered.

This wasn't a recruitment contract; it was clearly a soul-crushing indenture agreement.

Fifty years of absolute control.

Hand over all data on the Mutant Goblins.

This meant that as soon as he signed, Lin Yuan's Divine Domain would no longer belong to him.

Xinghai didn't just want to take his current achievements; they wanted to turn him into a tool for producing cheap cannon fodder for the conglomerates.

Furthermore, if Xinghai discovered he possessed no deduction abilities and was instead relying on the Creation Extraction cheat...

…then his fate would be to be pushed onto an operating table and sliced up for research.

In the eyes of capital, he was nothing more than a high-yield, high-risk financial product.

"Student Lin, have you finished reading?" Chen Mo was still smiling, though his eyes betrayed a hint of condescension. "Xinghai's sincerity is one of a kind in all of Jiangcheng."

"I've finished."

Lin Yuan raised his head and tapped his finger in mid-air.

"Bang."

The holographic contract shattered into a sky full of light particles.

Chen Mo's smile froze on his face.

"Apologies." Lin Yuan stood up, looking at Chen Mo's stunned face, his tone flat. "I don't have the habit of acting like a dog for others."

"What do you mean by that?" Chen Mo's expression turned ugly, and he stood up abruptly.

"Young man, don't think that just because you made the top twenty, you're actually something special. Xinghai can elevate you, but we can also destroy you!"

"You can try."

Lin Yuan didn't even want to waste more breath; he pulled up his system panel and clicked exit.

"Youβ€”"

Before Chen Mo could finish speaking, Lin Yuan's figure had already turned into white light and vanished from the reception room.

Leaving Chen Mo standing there with an ashen face.

He was accustomed to seeing civilian geniuses groveling before capital; he had never seen such a stubborn bone.

Back in his personal space.

Lin Yuan clicked on the representative coordinates of several top-tier families and guilds.

Thunder Military Industry, Everlasting Guild, and the Jiangcheng Li family.

Without exception, the tactics were all the same.

The prices they offered were higher than the last, with Thunder Military Industry even offering an astronomical annual salary of 200 million.

Yet the core demand was identical: buy out Lin Yuan's future and obtain the highest control over his Divine Domain.

Lin Yuan sat on the virtual floor of his personal space.

He added all these factions to his blacklist.

He wanted resources to climb higher, not a golden dog collar tied around his neck.

"As expected, relying on these vampires is impossible."

His finger hovered over the "Log Out" button.

Beep.

A piercing system notification sound suddenly rang out.

An invitation completely different from the previous ones popped up.

No gaudy gold-trimmed effects, no empty pleasantries.

Only a simple dark red background.

The borders were engraved with the highest level of military encryption runes.

Sender: Special Invitation from the Spark Legion Supreme Command.

Lin Yuan paused.

Spark Legion.

The ace main force stationed in the deepest part of the Seventh Abyss Defense Line.

The unit Old Lin served in back in the day was exactly a subordinate branch of the Spark Legion.

This unit never participated in the internal power struggles of Jiangcheng and spent the whole year on the front lines fighting monsters.

A behemoth of this level would normally never spare a second glance at a high school graduate.

Lin Yuan looked at the hovering dark red coordinates and confirmed the teleportation.

A flash of light.

The surrounding environment reassembled.

What came into view was a virtual combat command center filled with a solemn, murderous aura.

Above the dome, a holographic star map slowly rotated.

Countless red and blue dots representing the battle situation pulsed on the star map.

The harsh sounds of battle reports echoed faintly in the far distance.

A man stood before the holographic sand table in the center of the command center.

The man wore a dark green training uniform without rank insignia, had a buzz cut, and possessed an unremarkable appearance.

But as he stood there, the laws of the entire command center seemed to revolve slowly around him.

Hearing the commotion, the man turned around.

"I am Commander Xiao Lie, Commander-in-Chief of the Spark Legion's Jiangcheng Theater."

Without any small talk, the man got straight to the point.

He raised his hand and tapped the sand table.

The holographic projection shifted, playing footage of Lin Yuan commanding the Mutant Goblins to self-destruct and devour Spider Demons alive on the Shattered Continent.

"Raymond, and Major General Chen Yan who sent you the Abyss Broodmother's flesh a few days ago, have both reported your deeds to me." Commander Xiao Lie's voice was steady. "Well done."

Lin Yuan stood there without responding.

He was waiting for the other party to continue.

Commander Xiao Lie watched the Mutant Goblins devouring the monster's flesh in the footage, his eyes devoid of any ripples.

"Those conglomerates want your mutation formula. They think that as long as they get the data, they can mass-produce cheap cannon fodder."

Commander Xiao Lie turned off the projection and stared directly at Lin Yuan.

"But I know that the deformed ecosystem capable of evolving within extreme toxicity and nuclear radiation is irreproducible."

"Forcibly extracting it will only result in a pile of rotting flesh. I don't want your formula."

Commander Xiao Lie rested his hands on the edge of the sand table.

"I want you."

Lin Yuan's expression remained unchanged.

"General Xiao." Lin Yuan looked directly into the Commander-in-Chief's eyes. "If you want me to sign an indenture agreement like the one from Xinghai, then you might be disappointed."

Commander Xiao Lie laughed.

He didn't get angry; instead, he pulled a black scroll from the virtual space and tossed it in front of Lin Yuan.

The scroll unfurled, containing only a few lines of text.

"The military doesn't need slaves, and the Spark Legion certainly doesn't need brainless puppets."

Commander Xiao Lie pointed at the scroll. "What I've prepared for you is the [S-Class Special Authorization: Shadow Blade Contract]."

Lin Yuan's gaze fell upon the scroll.

"Sign it, and you won't need to pledge loyalty to anyone. You won't belong to any organizational structure, you won't need to clock in on time, and you won't need to participate in regular military training."

Commander Xiao Lie's tone was calm. "Furthermore, the highest military system will automatically cover up your true file, and other legions will have no authority to mobilize you."

Lin Yuan raised an eyebrow slightly.

Rights and responsibilities are equal.

There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Such a special-grade contract that provided no restrictions while offering a protective umbrella must come at a staggering cost.

"What are the conditions?" Lin Yuan asked.

Commander Xiao Lie waved his hand, and the holographic sand table churned violently.

The map of the Shattered Continent vanished, replaced by an unknown region tightly shrouded in deep red mist.

Within the mist, extremely distorted law storms raged faintly.

"Deep within the Seventh Abyss Defense Line, a new type of high-concentration corruption radiation has recently appeared." Commander Xiao Lie pointed at the center of the red mist. "This radiation is extremely corrosive."

Commander Xiao Lie pulled up several tragic combat recordings.

In the footage, a well-equipped Holy Light Angel Legion had just stepped into the red mist when their Holy Light shields began to shatter.

The noble angels grew dark purple tentacles while screaming, and within just five seconds, they completely mutated and began tearing into each other.

A Thunder Elemental Legion entered.

The high-tier elemental entities immediately collapsed, assimilated by the red mist into a toxic storm.

"Once a regular Holy Light Legion or Elemental Legion enters, their Divine Domain laws collapse and disintegrate. Even a commander at the True God level cannot last long." Commander Xiao Lie's tone was grave.

He looked at Lin Yuan, his eyes sharp.

"We need a blade that can kill in a cesspit."

Commander Xiao Lie spoke bluntly: "Your Wasteland Divine Domain has a rotten foundation. Its laws are extremely incomplete. But precisely because it is incomplete, it has an incredibly perverted resistance to this kind of abyss pollution."

"Not only is it unafraid of pollution, but your Mutant Goblins can even absorb the toxins as nutrients."

"I want you to act as the tip of the spear, infiltrating these extremely dangerous areas once the military identifies the coordinates inside the red mist, to retrieve critical strategic intelligence for us."
