92: Xishan Villa
"Xinyu, I'll land at Daxing at 3:06 PM. Arrange for someone to pick me up."
Jiang Yuan sent a message to Gu Xinyu before boarding the plane.
He didn't wait for a reply, simply turned off his phone, and boarded the flight to Beijing.
Several hours later, the plane landed.
As soon as Jiang Yuan walked out of the VIP exit, he spotted Gu Xinyu in the crowd at a glance.
She was wearing a well-tailored business suit today, looking both capable and charming. And behind her, there actually stood two 1.9-meter-tall bodyguards in black suits and sunglasses, exuding an imposing aura.
"Brother Jiang!"
Gu Xinyu's eyes lit up. She trotted over in her high heels and, without any hesitation, directly linked her arm with Jiang Yuan's.
"Hello, Boss!"
The two bodyguards bowed in unison at a ninety-degree angle, their voices resounding.
Surrounding passengers glanced over, and some even took out their phones to take pictures, all guessing which rich young master had returned to the capital.
Jiang Yuan twitched the corner of his mouth, feeling it was a bit too high-profile.
"Why go through all this trouble? Why the bodyguards?"
Although he said this, his footsteps didn't stop, and amidst the envious gazes of many, he sat into the black Lexus LM500 parked on the side of the road.
This was currently the top-tier business vehicle on the market, which Gu Xinyu had specially purchased as a company car, though it was actually just to ensure he could sit comfortably.
The car door closed, and the partition between the front and rear cabins rose.
This cramped space instantly became an absolutely private mobile lounge.
"Of course, it's to protect you."
Gu Xinyu smiled like a little fox. She unbuckled her seatbelt, climbed directly onto Jiang Yuan's lap, and wrapped her arms around his neck:
"You're a big boss worth tens of billions now; don't I have to pamper you carefully?"
As she spoke, she lowered her head, and her red lips pressed directly onto his.
It was a long kiss filled with longing and flattery.
Jiang Yuan leaned back against the airline-style seat, one hand naturally wrapping around her slender waist, while his other hand was still fiddling with his phone.
He was sending a message to Lamu: "Landed, don't worry."
Gu Xinyu was so close that she naturally saw the content on the screen, as well as the contact name labeled "Little Lamu."
But her expression didn't even change, and she even proactively buried her head into the crook of Jiang Yuan's neck and rubbed against it.
She was a smart person.
As the CEO of Prosperous Stars Fund, and even more so as the actual manager of Jiang Yuan's assets, she knew Jiang Yuan's background better than anyone.
Such an excellent man was destined to be an eagle on the grasslands; it was impossible for him to only land on one tree.
Being the first person to accompany him, being able to use his influence to treat her sister's illness, and controlling such a large foundation was already a tremendous blessing.
As long as Jiang Yuan didn't drive her away, and as long as she had a place in his heart, even if it was only as big as a fingernail, she would be content.
"I missed you... Hubby..."
Gu Xinyu whispered in his ear, her voice filled with a sweet, lingering tenderness.
"I missed you too."
Jiang Yuan put away his phone and focused on responding to the beauty in his arms.
...
Before the evening rush hour arrived, the car drove onto Jingxi Avenue.
Heading west, the noise gradually faded, replaced by the rolling dark-colored mountain shadows of the Western Hills.
Before long, the car passed through several strict security checkpoints and slowly drove into a secluded villa area.
Western Hills · Tan Palace (Fictional).
Houses here weren't sold by the square meter; they were sold by the "building."
"We're here."
Following Gu Xinyu's voice, the car stopped in front of a massive purple copper gate.
Jiang Yuan got out of the car and looked up to inspect it.
This was a standalone king-tier villa, and also the unit with the best location in the entire villa area.
It covered a full five thousand square meters.
It wasn't the kind of European-style castle that looked resplendent at first glance, but rather a typical New Chinese style.
Backed by the towering main peak of the Western Hills, it faced a shimmering natural lake.
This "mountain-backed, water-facing" layout is known in Feng Shui as "carrying Yin and embracing Yang, concealing wind and gathering Qi," an excellent location that money alone can hardly buy.
"This house cost 380 million to buy originally."
Gu Xinyu linked her arm with Jiang Yuan's, unlocked the door with her fingerprint, and introduced it while walking, as if seeking credit:
"Later, I tore everything inside down and renovated it. Just for the renovation and soft furnishings, I've already spent over 500 million. Counting the things in the courtyard, this property's value now easily exceeds one billion."
"The renovation cost more than the house itself?"
Jiang Yuan raised an eyebrow; this actually suited his taste. He hadn't really calculated how much he had spent, just blindly transferring money to Gu Xinyu.
Pushing open that thick, explosion-proof purple copper gate, the first thing that came into view was the extremely luxurious private garden.
The three-thousand-square-meter courtyard didn't have any messy flowers or plants, but rather large areas of dry landscape and water features.
"Look at those few trees."
Gu Xinyu pointed at several pine trees with vigorous postures in the very center of the courtyard.
"These are black pines specially transplanted from Japan with full crowns. Each one is several hundred years old. Just the shipping cost and the value of this single tree alone is eight million. These few trees alone could buy an apartment on the Third Ring Road."
Entering the main building's hall.
A faint, subtle fragrance wafted towards them.
This wasn't the scent of perfume, but the natural aroma of wood.
The entire first-floor hall had a seven-meter high ceiling. The floor wasn't paved with ordinary tiles, but with whole-cut Omani beige marble, the patterns flowing like a Chinese ink wash painting.
But the most stunning part was the woodwork.
"All the beams, pillars, antique display racks, and even the baseboards are made of Golden Nanmu, and it's old reclaimed timber, not a single bit of sapwood."
Gu Xinyu touched a pillar that was as smooth and warm as jade, her eyes filled with a dreamy look:
"This is wood that's priced by the gram. I hired master craftsmen from the Forbidden City's restoration team to lead the work, and it was hand-polished. Just the wood in this room is worth more than the house itself."
This is New Chinese style.
It doesn't play the "gold-inlaid-jade" game; what it plays with is cultural accumulation and the ultimate stacking of materials.
Low-key?
That's for people who don't know any better. Those who do can tell at a glance that this is simply an art gallery piled up with money.
Jiang Yuan walked to the end of the hall.
There, a huge floor-to-ceiling window, over ten meters wide, stood without any seams.
Through the glass, one could see the lake surface ahead.
It was currently dusk.
Although the sun had already set behind the Western Hills behind them, the afterglow across the sky spilled onto the lake ahead, shimmering and turning it a golden red. Occasionally, a few water birds would sweep past, so tranquil it felt like being in a Jiangnan water town.
"This piece of glass was only brought in after applying for special flight path approval. It's bulletproof grade and can withstand rifle fire."
Gu Xinyu stood by Jiang Yuan's side, looking at this ultimate scenery, and whispered:
"Except for the wine cellar and AV room on the second basement level, which are still undergoing final acoustic tuning, everything else is finished. All the furniture is custom-made by world-class masters."
Jiang Yuan nodded, very satisfied.
He had spent a few days living in tents and RVs in Lhasa; while that was also nice, compared to this pinnacle of human residential civilization, there was still a bit of a difference.
This is what you call living.
"Well done."
Jiang Yuan reached out and pulled Gu Xinyu into his arms, looking at the lake and mountains outside the window, in a great mood.
"This one billion was worth spending."
He turned around, looking at the spacious and luxurious hall.
"Tonight, we'll stay here."
