180: Chapter 180 The Prince of Beijing's Elite Circle Has Arrived

At the far end of the runway at Donghai City International Airport, a pitch-black Boeing business jet, emblazoned with a massive golden Pei Family crest on its fuselage, slowly descended.

The cabin door opened, and two rows of burly men in black suits and tactical headsets jumped off the plane first.

Their movements were perfectly synchronized, the sound of their leather shoes striking the ground dull and powerful.

There was a sense of Killing Intent in their eyes, and their temples bulged high; they were clearly retired special forces soldiers who had seen blood.

Pei Shaoting, wearing a minimalist yet extremely expensive pure white suit, walked down the gangway on a red carpet, holding an unlit cigar in his hand.

He looked up at the slightly humid sky of Donghai City, furrowed his brows slightly, and waved his hand in disgust.

"The air in this place is far worse than in the capital."

A mechanical, synthetic voice rang out in Pei Shaoting's mind.

"Ding! Host detected arriving at the target area, Donghai City."

"Mission initiated: Suppress local forces and demonstrate the majesty of the Family. Target: Gu Changan of the Bureau of Anomalous Affairs."

"Mission reward: Family Martial Soul Awakening progress increased by 10%, Family Aura suppression power increased."

A cold sneer appeared on the corner of Pei Shaoting's mouth.

He was used to being arrogant in the capital; any "Crown Prince" party members or second-generation rich kids had to walk around him when they saw him.

He came to Donghai this time because a few of his close friends in the Beijing circle had suffered a major setback at the hands of this small department director named Gu Changan.

Wang Fugui had his home raided, Li Xiaoyao had his business shut down, and even that old antique, Sect Leader Ye Cangyun, had been dragged off to operate a sewing machine.

In Pei Shaoting's eyes, the waters of Donghai needed to be stirred up.

"Young Master, the motorcade is ready."

A middle-aged man who looked like a butler bowed and said.

Outside the airport, ten black Cullinans were parked quietly.

Leading them was a custom-made Hongqi L5 with a "Jing A" license plate.

Pei Shaoting climbed into the backseat, lit his cigar, and exhaled a puff of thick smoke.

"Go to that so-called Bureau of Anomalies; I want to see how many heads this Gu Changan has."

The motorcade passed through the bustling downtown of Donghai City in a grand procession, attracting the attention of countless citizens.

The roar of the Cullinans echoed through the streets, and the twenty bodyguards following on both sides sat in open-top off-road vehicles, making no attempt to hide their tactical gear.

This display was practically like a head of state from some small country going on a tour.

Half an hour later, the motorcade arrived at the main gate of the Bureau of Anomalous Affairs.

This place was originally a few old office buildings in the old city district, with the exterior walls painted in simple gray paint, and only a long wooden sign hung at the entrance.

Except for a few ordinary jeeps entering and leaving, it was as quiet as a nursing home.

Pei Shaoting pushed open the car door and stood on the roof of the car.

He looked down condescendingly at the dilapidated office building, unable to hide the contempt in his eyes.

"A dump like this dares to call itself the Bureau of Anomalies?"

The twenty bodyguards behind him quickly dispersed and lined up in two rows at the entrance.

A bodyguard stepped forward and rudely pushed the slightly mottled iron gate.

"Open the door! Young Master Pei is here; tell your person in charge, Gu Changan, to get out here and welcome him!"

The door of the security booth opened slowly.

An old man with gray hair and a rumpled uniform walked out.

The old man held a chipped large enamel mug in his hand and took a slurp of strong tea.

He looked up at Pei Shaoting, then at the ten luxury cars, his Face devoid of any expression.

"What are you yelling for?"

The old man fished a crumpled piece of paper and a ballpoint pen with a broken cap out of his pocket and handed them out the window.

"New here? Don't know the rules? Fill out the form at the visitor registration desk first."

"Name, ID number, purpose of visit, do you have an appointment."

Pei Shaoting was stunned.

He had imagined countless types of opening lines.

It might have been the Special Police firing warning shots, or perhaps Gu Changan walking out with a grave expression to confront him.

But he never expected that the one blocking his initial Aura would be an old security guard who had almost lost all his teeth.

"Do you know who I am?"

Pei Shaoting jumped down from the roof of the car and walked up to the old man, his tone cold and chilling.

The Family System in his mind was jumping frantically.

"Host's majesty detected as damaged; please strike back immediately!"

The old man pushed up his reading glasses and squinted at Pei Shaoting.

"I know, the surveillance facial recognition already alerted us just now."

The old man looked down at the computer screen, then at the record on the paper.

"Pei Shaoting, 28 years old, from the capital."

"Your motorcade is quite imposing, but I have to remind you of one thing."

"The road leading in is a one-way street; all ten of your cars are driving against traffic."

"Also, the traffic police System backend shows that this Hongqi with a 'Jing A' plate under your name has two speeding violations and one illegal parking violation on Donghai Avenue that haven't been processed yet."

"The fine is two hundred, and six points will be deducted; pay it on your phone quickly."

The muscles on Pei Shaoting's Face twitched.

The twenty bodyguards he brought looked at each other in dismay, not knowing whether they should deploy the tactical batons they were holding.

This script wasn't right!

I came to challenge the venue; I came to demonstrate the majesty of the Family!

You are talking to me about traffic fines?

"Old man, do you think my Pei Family doesn't have the money to pay a fine?"

Pei Shaoting snatched the registration form from the old man's hand, tore it into shreds in a few seconds, and tossed it into the air.

"Tell Gu Changan, I'll only give him five minutes."

"If he doesn't come out and kneel to welcome me in five minutes, I'll tear down this rotten building!"

The old man sighed.

He ignored Pei Shaoting's clamor, bent down to pick up the paper scraps from the ground, and stuffed them into the trash can one by one.

"Damaging public property, fifty fine."

"Littering, violating the 'Urban Appearance and Environmental Sanitation Management Regulations', one hundred fine."

"If you really want to tear down the building, turn right when you go out to the City Management Bureau; you can go ask what procedures are needed for forced demolition."

After the old man finished speaking, he turned to look at the office building.

Behind a window on the third floor, Chen Xiaobei was leaning on the windowsill, clutching a handful of melon seeds, laughing so hard he was swaying back and forth.

"Director Gu, is this Crown Prince from the capital brain-damaged? What is he fussing with Old Man Qin at the gate for?"

Gu Changan sat behind his desk, methodically watering a cactus.

He didn't even lift his head, just replied indifferently.

"Did he register?"

Chen Xiaobei chuckled.

"Register my ass, he tore up the registration form for Old Man Qin and is still shouting there that he wants you to go out and kneel to welcome him."

Gu Changan put down the watering can and checked his watch.

"If he didn't register, he doesn't count as a visitor."

"Let him stand outside."

"Tell Old Man Qin, if he brings people to barge in, call 110 and say someone is gathering a crowd to make trouble and disrupting the office order of a state agency."

Downstairs, Pei Shaoting was almost going crazy.

He stood in the scorching sun for a full ten minutes.

Except for the occasional passersby looking at him like a monkey, not even a ghost had come out of this office building.

The bodyguards behind him had already started sweating.

The originally grim formation appeared extremely ridiculous under the pointing gazes of the surrounding aunties and uncles.

"Young Master, this Gu Changan is clearly not giving us Face."

A bodyguard leader leaned in and whispered.

"How about we just charge in?"

Pei Shaoting gritted his teeth and took out his phone from his pocket.

Although he was arrogant, he wasn't stupid.

Since this Bureau of Anomalies could send so many tough guys from the Beijing circle inside, it definitely had hard power.

Since the other party wanted to play by the rules, he would use higher rules to crush the other party.

"Hello, Uncle Liu? It's Shaoting."

Pei Shaoting spoke into the phone, his tone returning to that unhurried calmness.

"I've encountered a little trouble in Donghai; a place called the Bureau of Anomalies doesn't seem very sensible."

"Do me a favor and give a heads-up to Gu Changan over there."

"Make him come out and meet me."

There was silence on the other end of the line for a full five seconds.

"Shaoting, your Uncle Liu is almost retired this year, and I still want to return to the capital for a peaceful retirement."

"That Gu Changan... it's not an issue of his rank, he is... sigh."

"You'd better not provoke him, really."

"If you are already at the gate, Uncle Liu advises you to hurry back to the capital; your Family let you come out to gain experience, not to send your head on a platter."

Beep, beep, beep—

Listening to the busy signal on the phone, Pei Shaoting was completely stunned.

His Uncle Liu was a powerful deputy mayor of Donghai City.

He didn't even dare to say a word?
