Chapter 31 Who Am I 30

Lin Xiangjun cursed the bastard in her heart.

"If you broke the rules and have no way out, then just die quietly. What's with this mentality of dragging others down with you? Precious, if you keep this up, will your parents ever be able to return from outer space?"

Despite the internal cursing, her movements didn't hesitate for a single second.

The security bars on Zhuo Xing's windows were made of thick, hollow metal rods with wide gaps—plenty of room for a skinny monkey like him to thrust a knife through.

Yes, she had no intention of being polite to such a scumbag.

Upon receiving the command, Wang Min immediately directed Patrick Star to pull upward. Lin Xiangjun's body surged up a section, her knees roughly level with Zhuo Xing's eyes.

Still not high enough.

Lin Xiangjun stepped onto a horizontal bar of the security window, exerted force with her feet, and swung her entire body like a pendulum.

The tension on the rope increased sharply. An ordinary person would have been pulled down by Lin Xiangjun's weight, but fortunately, her counterpart was an illogical anomaly. The rope remained steady in his hands, and he was even able to continue the rapid ascent.

As Lin Xiangjun swung upward, Zhuo Xing thrust the fruit knife out. It narrowly grazed Lin Xiangjun's calf, slicing a hole in her tracksuit pants.

Aaaaah, her new clothes!

"Die! Die! Just die already!" Zhuo Xing screamed in agony.

If you don't want to live, what does that have to do with me? If you want to die, go to the kitchen and put yourself in the blender. One press of the start button and it's all over—quick, convenient, and you can even provide a meal for your parents!

The rope reached its highest point and then began to fall.

Zhuo Xing seemed to see hope. His arms flailed wildly through the gaps, his expression manic and pained—like an ugly, skinny monkey version of a sailor waiting for a mermaid to appear.

The speed of the fall was gradually increasing, but the rope wasn't rising fast enough. Lin Xiangjun could only call out through her earpiece.

"Wang Min! Tell Patrick Star to use more strength!"

"Okay!"

Wang Min grabbed Patrick Star's arm and pulled back. Patrick Star froze for a second, then as if suddenly realizing something, he grabbed the rope with both hands and yanked it back violently!

With an upward force and a rightward acceleration acting simultaneously, one might ask: how was Lin Xiangjun's experience right now?

Lin Xiangjun: Excellent. She was experiencing two types of weightlessness at once, and her heart felt like it was about to jump out of the top of her head.

She stared fixedly at Zhuo Xing's hands. If Patrick Star didn't pull her high enough, she would need to do her best to avoid Zhuo Xing's constantly flailing arms and find a relatively safe foothold to launch off again.

Fortunately, Patrick Star really came through.

Lin Xiangjun's feet cleared the tip of Zhuo Xing's knife by exactly ten centimeters.

"Ah! Aaaaah!" Zhuo Xing screamed like a mad dog, his arms banging against the security bars. He glared fixedly at the ascending Lin Xiangjun as if staring at a traitor.

"Don't move! Don't go! Stay here, I have something to tell you! I have clues! Do you want to leave the instance? I have clues here, don't go, I'll tell them to you! I'll tell them to you! Aaaaah!"

Lin Xiangjun only felt it was bad luck.

She glanced down. Zhuo Xing was pressed against the security bars, half of his face squeezed through the gaps. His eyes were rolled up desperately, and his features were twisted together.

Seeing this ghostly appearance, she couldn't help but shiver and hurriedly climbed back into her room through the gap.

When she first saw him, he only seemed moderately contaminated, but looking at him now, he was definitely heavily contaminated.

Heavy contamination... one would have to drink ten bottles of contamination clearing potion from the mall just to return to the light contamination range.

Ten bottles of contamination clearing potion cost a full ten thousand underworld currency. Who among ordinary people could afford that?

So in an instance, once you reach heavy contamination, you are basically considered dead.

With Wang Min's help, Lin Xiangjun untied the rope. She had originally wanted to just cut it with a knife to save trouble, but Wang Min was stingy with her underworld currency. The knot wasn't tied very tightly anyway, so it came loose with a little effort. It would be such a waste to cut it.

Wang Min looked at the rope around Lin Xiangjun's waist with heartache. Wouldn't one slash cut it into five or eight pieces?

No need for that, no need at all. One slash is a day's wages; what working person could stand that?

Since she didn't have to untie it herself anyway, Lin Xiangjun let her be.

While recounting the night's gains to Wang Min, she sighed, "Who would have thought? Everything was fine the whole way, but right before getting back, I ended up swinging on a pendulum five stories up. Luckily I'm agile, otherwise the next step would have been bungee jumping."

With a smile on her face, she prepared to tidy up and go to sleep.

However, just as she pulled back the covers, her movements paused.

What is the definition of a swing?

In a park, is something with a seat and ropes that lets a person swing a 'swing'? But there are also seats fixed with iron bars, or wooden seats wrapped in flowering vines. Just now, she didn't even have a seat, just a rope.

But she swung. If she said she was on a swing, could anyone say she wasn't?

By the same logic, what is a seesaw?

People generally think of those things in front of supermarkets or convenience stores, made into ugly cartoon characters that start singing 'My father's father is called Grandpa' and rocking back and forth once you drop a coin in.

But what if, like the swing, you strip away all external factors?

What is a seesaw?

Something you can sit on, that can rock, and that can talk—that is a seesaw.

Lin Xiangjun suddenly realized.

Does anyone dictate what a seesaw must look like?

No one. There isn't a single law or corporate regulation stating exactly what a seesaw must be.

Then why couldn't that old man she met in the Garden, the one hitting the tree, be a seesaw?!

What did that old man say?

"Exercise is good, exercise is good. It's good to exercise more so I can carry my little grandson on my back."

"My little grandson is very lively. He wants to be carried every day, sitting on my shoulders and squealing. He even stands up and wobbles from time to time. Without a healthy body, I wouldn't be able to carry him steadily."

Lin Xiangjun understood.

When his grandson sits on his shoulders, that old man is a seesaw—or rather, as long as someone is sitting on his shoulders, he is a seesaw.

In other words, she had to find someone to sit on the old man's shoulders before she could get the relevant clues.

Herself? Lin Xiangjun weighed her own weight and figured if she sat on him, the old man might just die.

Lin Xiangjun's gaze fell upon Wang Min.

She gave a gentle smile.

Wang Min got goosebumps all over from the look: "Master, if you have a request, just say it."

Don't look at her like that; she felt her heart trembling as if she were about to be sold.

"Do you want to ride a seesaw?"

Wang Min: ?
