16: Chapter 16: Martial Arts Competition 2

In the afternoon, as the principal finished speaking, the combat power competition began.

Each class began to take action.

The rules were simple: Third Martial Arts High School had eight classes in the third year, and each class had to determine its five strongest individuals, totaling forty people.

Then, these top forty would draw lots for one-on-one duels; winners would advance, and losers would be eliminated until the top ten were decided, at which point the ranking tournament would begin.

Once the final ranking tournament concluded, if anyone among the top forty was dissatisfied, each person would have one chance to challenge, giving a second chance to those who were unlucky during the elimination rounds and were knocked out early by encountering top-tier fighters.

The class selection was also simple; students with the top five Qi and blood values would be the class top five, and anyone who was dissatisfied could have one chance to challenge.

In the Class 3 group, the head teacher, Teacher Li Jian, held the report card, unable to suppress the smile on his Face no matter how hard he tried.

587!

His class had actually produced a student with 587!

Such a score would make one a top student at No. 1 High School, and at No. 3 High School, it was an unprecedented first!

Teacher Li Jian straightened his back, swept his gaze over the forty-plus students in front of him, and cleared his throat:

"Students, the results of the morning's Qi and blood test are out. The top five in our class are..."

He paused, intentionally building suspense, then raised his voice:

"First place, Lin Fan, with a Qi and blood value of 587!"

"Second place, Su Wanning, with a Qi and blood value of 396!"

"Third place, Han Ming, with a Qi and blood value of 308!"

"Fourth place, Wang Ziwen, with a Qi and blood value of 272!"

"Fifth place, Zhou Xiaomeng, with a Qi and blood value of 258!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a flurry of whispers broke out in the class.

Countless gazes fell upon Lin Fan; shock, envy, jealousy—various emotions were intertwined.

Lin Fan's expression was calm, as if these gazes had nothing to do with him.

Teacher Li Jian looked at Lin Fan, his eyes full of gratification: "Student Lin Fan, you have always been low-key, but this time you have truly amazed everyone. Very good! Keep up the effort and strive for a good ranking in the school-wide competition!"

Lin Fan nodded without speaking.

He then looked at Han Ming, a flash of surprise in his eyes: "Han Ming, you have made great progress this time. I remember you were always around 100-something before, but this time you have directly had a Breakthrough to over 300. Not bad, not bad!"

Han Ming smiled: "Just good luck. I have been Cultivating quite smoothly recently."

"Good, good, good!" Teacher Li Jian said "good" three times, then said sternly, "According to the rules, the top five have been determined. Now, is there anyone who feels their strength is sufficient and wants to challenge one of them?"

As his voice fell, the class instantly quieted down.

Some looked at Lin Fan, then silently looked away.

587—challenge him? Wasn't that just asking for a beating?

Some looked at Su Wanning, hesitated for a moment, but still didn't move.

396, plus the foundation from the Su family martial arts gym—her combat power was definitely not weak.

Some looked at Han Ming, their eyes flickering as if they were somewhat tempted.

308—he was only over 100 before, and suddenly increased by so much. Who knew if it was fake?

As for Wang Ziwen and Zhou Xiaomeng, a few people were itching to try, but they were still watching.

"What, no one wants to challenge?" Teacher Li Jian asked again.

"Teacher, me!"

A voice suddenly rang out.

Everyone turned to look in the direction of the voice; the speaker was a male student in the class named Chen Feng, with a Qi and blood value of 213, ranking seventh in the class.

Chen Feng stared at Lin Fan, his eyes full of defiance: "I want to challenge Lin Fan!"

"Whoa!"

The class instantly erupted.

"Is Chen Feng crazy? Challenging Lin Fan?"

"His Qi and blood value is only 213! What does he have to challenge Lin Fan with?"

"Qi and blood don't represent combat power. Lin Fan has never taken a practical combat class; maybe he really has a chance?"

"That's true. Having only Qi and blood without knowing how to fight just makes you a punching bag."

Chen Feng clearly thought the same. He hadn't bullied Lin Fan little in the past and had never lost, so he had a natural sense of confidence.

He walked up to Lin Fan, head held high, his tone carrying a hint of provocation: "Lin Fan, do you dare to accept?"

Lin Fan glanced at him and calmly spat out two words: "Sure."

The two walked to the temporary combat zone marked out on the side.

The students in the class swarmed over, and even people from the neighboring classes crowded around to watch the fun.

"Begin!"

Teacher Li Jian acted as the referee himself.

Chen Feng took a deep breath, exerted force under his feet, and pounced toward Lin Fan like a cheetah!

A faint layer of light vaguely appeared on his fist—that was the hallmark of having cultivated a Martial Skill!

"Stone-Crushing Fist!"

Chen Feng let out a low shout and threw a punch, aiming straight for Lin Fan's Face!

This was a mortal-grade Martial Skill passed down in his family. Although it wasn't ranked, training it to the limit could provide a one-fold power bonus!

Lin Fan stood in place, motionless.

Just at the moment Chen Feng's fist was about to hit Lin Fan's Face, Lin Fan moved.

He leaned slightly to the side.

Chen Feng's fist whistled past his ear, kicking up a gust of wind.

Chen Feng's expression changed; he wanted to change moves, but it was already too late.

Lin Fan raised his right hand and lightly pressed a palm against Chen Feng's chest.

"Boom!"

A dull thud.

Chen Feng flew backward like a cannonball, flying seven or eight meters away before crashing heavily to the ground. He spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, struggled twice, but simply couldn't get back up.

The whole area was deathly silent.

"This... this is it?"

"Just one move? Chen Feng didn't even touch the corner of his clothes?"

The onlookers widened their eyes, their Faces full of disbelief.

Chen Feng lay on the ground, clutching his chest, his Face deathly pale. He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but only spat out a mouthful of blood foam.

Lin Fan withdrew his hand, didn't even glance at him, and turned to walk back to the team.

He did it on purpose; who told this guy to bully him before? The only reason he didn't cripple him directly was because they were at school.

Teacher Li Jian was stunned for two seconds before reacting: "Quick, quick, carry him to the Infirmary!"

Several students scrambled to carry Chen Feng away.

The class fell into silence again, this time with a sense of awe.

587 in Qi and blood, coupled with such terrifying combat awareness—is he even human?

Su Wanning watched Lin Fan's back, her beautiful eyes shimmering with intrigue.

Wang Ziwen's expression changed repeatedly; the thought he originally had of challenging Lin Fan was instantly extinguished.

Just kidding, if he went up, it would probably be a one-palm affair too.

Teacher Li Jian coughed and was just about to ask if anyone else wanted to challenge when another voice rang out.

"Teacher, I want to challenge!"

Everyone looked again; this time, the one who stepped out was named Sun Qiang, with a Qi and blood value of 225, ranking sixth in the class.

Sun Qiang stared at Han Ming, his eyes filled with obvious suspicion.

"Han Ming, you were always around 100-something in Qi and blood, but suddenly jumped to 308. I don't believe it, so I want to challenge you. Do you dare to accept?"

Once these words were spoken, many people showed thoughtful expressions.

That's right, didn't they know what kind of character Han Ming was?

A playboy, fishing for three days and drying nets for two—how could he suddenly have a Breakthrough to over 300?

Maybe the test this morning was wrong.

Han Ming's mouth curled up slightly.

He originally wanted to be low-key, but since someone came knocking to be beaten up, he wouldn't mind stretching his muscles.

"Fine, I accept."

The two walked to the combat zone.

The students in the class surrounded them again; this time there were even more people, and even people from the neighboring classes ran over to watch the fun.

Han Ming was a celebrity at Third Martial Arts High School, and many people wanted to see if his strength was real.

In the center of the combat zone, Sun Qiang exercised his wrists, a smile of certain victory on his Face.

"Han Ming, don't say I didn't give you a chance. If you admit defeat now, I can still leave you some Face."

Han Ming stood lazily and laughed upon hearing this: "You talk too much nonsense."

Sun Qiang's Face sank: "You're courting death!"

"Begin!"

As Teacher Li Jian's voice fell, Sun Qiang charged forward violently!

His figure was burly, and this charge was like a wild bull rushing, kicking up a whistling wind!

"Wild Bull Fist!"

Sun Qiang shouted violently and threw a punch, the wind of the fist whistling as it headed straight for Han Ming's chest!

This was a Yellow-grade entry-level Martial Skill passed down in his family. Combined with his Qi and blood of over 200, one punch could deliver at least 600 jin of force! (One point of Qi and blood value equals one kilogram of force, and Martial Skills have an amplification effect.)

Han Ming stood in place, motionless.

A flash of ruthlessness crossed Sun Qiang's eyes. Showing off?

I'll blow you away with one punch and see how you show off then.
