2: Chapter 2 Su Wanning

In the original story, Lin Fan had a younger sister named Lin Xiaoyu who depended on him for survival. She was two years younger than him and had not yet begun her Awakening.

When she underwent her Awakening in the original story, she awakened an A-Grade Ice Talent.

In all of Jiangbei City, there were only a handful of A-Grade Talents born each year.

As soon as Lin Xiaoyu awakened, she was treated like a precious treasure by her school, and several second-rate Families extended olive branches, hoping to invest in her early.

But Lin Fan refused them all. By that time, Lin Fan had already experienced Rebirth, and with his spatial Divine Artifact, he was not lacking in resources at all.

At the same time, he knew what accepting investments from those Families meant, and he didn't want his sister to be tied down to those Families in the future.

As someone who had experienced Rebirth, Lin Fan knew exactly what those Families were like.

Thinking about all this, Han Ming temporarily abandoned the idea of using Lin Xiaoyu to threaten Lin Fan.

If he did that, his relationship with Lin Fan would become one of irreconcilable enmity.

Although successfully taking him as a disciple would mean receiving all of Lin Fan's rebates, who knew if there would be any accidents?

Children of Luck never played by the rules. It was hard to say what special twists might occur, and when facing a Child of Luck, one could never be too careful.

Han Ming was not the original owner, who only knew how to court death every day.

With these thoughts in mind, Han Ming dared not delay, so he opened the door and walked out.

"Xiaoming, are you awake? Come here quickly. Mom made you the beast meat porridge you love most; it can help you increase your Qi and blood and temper your Physical Body."

As soon as Han Ming walked out of the room, he saw a gorgeously dressed, beautiful middle-aged woman looking at him lovingly and greeting him.

"Alright, Mom, I don't want to eat. Where is Butler Han Fu? Tell him to take me to school now."

Upon hearing this, Han Ming put on an impatient look and said.

According to the original body's memories, this beautiful middle-aged woman was his mother, Jiang Xuerou. She came from an ordinary background but had decent talent and was a four-star Martial Master.

She doted on her son immensely. The original owner's arrogance and disdain for others could largely be attributed to his mother's coddling.

"You child, why are you in such a rush to get to school early in the morning? Don't you usually hate attending classes?"

Jiang Xuerou walked over with the porridge, looking Han Ming up and down with eyes full of concern. "Why is your complexion so poor? Did you not sleep well last night?"

Han Ming sighed inwardly.

This mother was truly good to the original owner, but unfortunately, the original owner didn't know how to cherish it and only knew how to cause trouble outside all day long.

In the end, he even implicated his Family and died a miserable death at Lin Fan's hands.

"It's nothing, I just had a nightmare." Han Ming's tone softened slightly, and he reached out to take the bowl of porridge. "Alright, Mom, I'll drink it, okay?"

Jiang Xuerou's eyes lit up, and a smile instantly bloomed on her face. "Mm, that's my good son! It's best to drink it while it's hot."

Han Ming held the bowl, looking down at the golden-colored beast meat porridge inside.

According to his memory, this was made from the tenderloin of a second-tier exotic beast, the Iron-Bone Pig. A single bowl cost nearly a thousand yuan, which was considered a decent nourishing supplement for a third-rate Family like the Han Family.

Ordinary families might not even be able to eat it once a month.

He finished it in a few gulps, shoved the bowl back into his mother's hands, and said, "Alright, I'm leaving."

After saying this, he walked outside without looking back. He had to deal with Lin Fan as soon as possible; if any unexpected changes occurred, it would be bad.

That could get people killed.

In the courtyard, a black hovercar was already waiting at the gate.

The driver was a middle-aged man in his fifties with graying hair, but his back was straight as a ramrod, and his eyes were bright and spirited.

Butler Han Fu, the old housekeeper of the Han Family, was also a veteran of the Han Family. With the strength of a two-star Martial Master, he was considered a high-end combatant within the Han Family.

"Young Master, please get in." Butler Han Fu opened the car door.

Han Ming nodded and climbed into the car.

The hovercar traveled smoothly above the city.

Han Ming leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes to continue sorting through his memories.

Third Martial Arts High School in Jiangbei, one of the three martial arts high schools in Jiangbei City, was ranked at the bottom. However, even so, those who could enter were students whose Talent tests had reached E-Rank or higher.

The ceiling for ordinary people was the Martial Apprentice level; only by Awakening a Talent did one have the qualifications to challenge higher Realms.

The original owner, Han Ming, had a D-Rank Talent, which was above average at Third Martial Arts High School. But the reason he dared to be arrogant and domineering was because of the Han Family's background. Although the Han Family was only a third-rate Family in Jiangbei, in front of ordinary students, it was already an unreachable existence.

"Young Master, we have arrived." Butler Han Fu's voice interrupted his thoughts.

Han Ming opened his eyes and looked outside through the car window.

The school gate of Third Martial Arts High School in Jiangbei appeared before his eyes: gray concrete pillars, a rusty iron gate, and two old men in security uniforms standing at the entrance smoking.

With just this dilapidated gate, there wasn't even a decent defensive Formation.

Han Ming's mouth twitched.

As expected of the lowest-ranked martial arts high school, they were dirt poor.

"Young Master, would you like me to accompany you inside?" Butler Han Fu asked.

"No need." Han Ming pushed open the car door. "I can do it myself."

He had just taken two steps when he turned back and added, "Butler Han Fu, you go back first. No need to wait for me."

Butler Han Fu was stunned for a moment, a trace of surprise flashing in his eyes.

Whenever the Young Master came to school in the past, he was always surrounded by people, practically wishing he could bring the entire Family's bodyguards along. Why had he changed his ways today?

"Then, Young Master, be careful." Butler Han Fu didn't ask further and drove the hovercar away.

Han Ming turned and walked toward the school gate.

Just as he stepped into the school gate, several young people in school uniforms walked toward him respectfully, their faces full of fawning smiles.

"Greetings, Young Master Han."

"Young Master Han is here?"

"Why are you so early today, Young Master Han?"

Han Ming looked at these faces before him and retrieved their information from his memories.

The tall, thin one leading them was Wang Chong, with a D-Rank Talent and 159 points of Qi and blood. His Family ran a small martial arts gym, so he had some background. The other two, Li Lei and Zhao Hu, both had E-Rank Talents, with Qi and blood values just over a hundred. They were pure freeloaders who just tagged along.

In the original story, these few were the original owner's most loyal lackeys. When the original owner bullied Lin Fan, they were more eager than anyone else. But when the original owner got into trouble, they ran faster than anyone else.

Typical fence-sitters.

"Young Master Han, do you have any plans for today?" Wang Chong leaned in, his face full of fawning. "Should we go corner that Lin Fan? I heard he came to school today."

Han Ming's footsteps faltered.

Corner Lin Fan?

He turned his head to look at Wang Chong, his expression somewhat subtle.

Brother, do you know what you are saying?

The person you want to corner is the protagonist of this book, someone destined to become a Martial God in the future.

If you want to die, don't drag me into it.

"No need," Han Ming said indifferently. "Don't go looking for trouble with Lin Fan from now on."

Wang Chong was stunned.

Li Lei and Zhao Hu were also stunned.

"Young Master Han, you... what did you say?" Wang Chong suspected he had misheard.

"I said, don't go looking for trouble with Lin Fan from now on," Han Ming repeated. "Did you hear me clearly?"

Wang Chong opened his mouth, not knowing what to say.

This wasn't right.

Didn't Young Master Han hate Lin Fan the most? Why had he suddenly changed his ways?

"Young Master Han, that Lin Fan was talking to Su Wanning yesterday. Are you just going to let it go like this?" Wang Chong was unwilling to give up.

Su Wanning?

Han Ming searched through his memories.

Oh, the school belle. She was quite pretty, had a C-Grade Talent, and her Family ran a medium-sized martial arts gym, which was considered a second-rate power in Jiangbei.

The original owner liked her, but she didn't think much of the original owner, this playboy.

"Forget it." Han Ming waved his hand. "From now on, mind your own business regarding my affairs."

After saying this, he strode toward the teaching building.

Leaving Wang Chong and the other two looking at each other in dismay.

"Brother Chong, what's wrong with Young Master Han?" Li Lei asked in a low voice.

"How would I know?" Wang Chong frowned. "But since he's not looking for trouble with Lin Fan, let's not meddle either. Let's go, to class."

Han Ming walked through the campus, drawing quite a few gazes along the way.

There was no helping it; the original owner's face was too famous at Third Martial Arts High School—not for having good talent, but for being famous for bullying others.

Han Ming ignored these gazes and walked straight toward the teaching building.

Just as he reached the third floor, a girl in a white training uniform walked toward him. She had long hair draped over her shoulders, delicate features, and a cold, aloof temperament.

Su Wanning.

Han Ming's footsteps faltered. The fanatical emotions from the original owner's memories surged up, but he forcibly suppressed them.

"Han Ming?" Su Wanning saw him too. Her brows furrowed imperceptibly, and she subconsciously moved to the side, as if trying to avoid something dirty.

Han Ming sighed inwardly.

The original owner's reputation was truly something else.

He didn't intend to strike up a conversation and was just about to brush past her when Su Wanning suddenly spoke: "I heard you've been looking for trouble with Lin Fan again recently?"

Han Ming stopped and turned to look at her.

Su Wanning's expression carried a hint of disgust: "Han Ming, I advise you to stop while you're ahead. I have no relationship with Lin Fan whatsoever; is it fun for you to bully him every day?"

"Besides, I don't like you. Please don't come pestering me in the future, otherwise... don't blame me for being impolite to you."

Han Ming remained silent for two seconds upon hearing this, his mouth twitching, and he felt a wave of speechlessness in his heart.

Listen here, miss, aren't you just doing more harm than good with your good intentions?

If it were the original owner and you spoke up for Lin Fan like this, he would only intensify his actions. Perhaps it was this very incident that led the original owner to bring people to knock Lin Fan unconscious, resulting in his Rebirth.

Besides, it's you who is pestering me right now, okay?

Who would want to be your simp?

I am not that idiot the original owner was.
