28: Chapter 28 Binding Li Xuewei

"Ding! Li Xuewei has been detected requesting to become the host's disciple. Does the host wish to bind the Master-disciple relationship with Li Xuewei?"

As Li Xuewei's voice faded, the System's notification chime echoed in Han Ming's mind.

"Bind!" Han Ming felt a surge of joy and hurriedly instructed the System in his heart.

This was a Mystic Ice Spirit Body, at least an S-rank talent, the future Mystic Ice Empress.

"Ding, congratulations to the host for successfully binding the Master-disciple relationship with Li Xuewei! The disciple's strength improvement will be fed back to the host at a 100% rate."

"Current disciple quota: 2/2. Currently bound disciples: 1. Lin Fan: Seven-Star Martial Apprentice (Child of Luck); 2. Li Xuewei: One-Star Martial Apprentice (Mystic Ice Spirit Body not yet awakened)."

"Good, I believe you can definitely do it. This 'Wind Shadow Step' and twenty blood qi pills are yours. Go back and Cultivate well!"

Seeing that the System had already bound Li Xuewei, Han Ming felt a wave of happiness. With Li Xuewei, his own Cultivation speed could increase once more.

He handed the Martial Skill and the Medicinal Pill in his hand to Li Xuewei and offered another word of encouragement.

"O-okay, thank you, Master!" At this moment, Li Xuewei was still a bit dazed. Had she really just taken him as her Master? She dazedly took the 'Wind Shadow Step' and the blood qi pills, speaking in a robotic manner.

"No need to call me Master, just call me by my name. We're about the same age, so it sounds awkward," Han Ming said, waving his hand.

He didn't want to be called Master everywhere while being so young. If it weren't for the System, who would want to take on disciples everywhere?

"Oh... okay, Han... Han Ming!" Li Xuewei paused for a moment before changing how she addressed him.

She also didn't want to call someone her own age Master, so this was perfect.

"Mm, good. Go back and Cultivate well! Strive to get into a top Martial Dao university." Han Ming nodded in satisfaction, patted her head, and said.

"Mm!" Feeling Han Ming's somewhat intimate gesture, Li Xuewei's face flushed red, and she responded in a soft voice.

At the same time, her heart confirmed her previous thought: Han Ming must have taken a liking to her and was using the pretext of taking a disciple to gift her Cultivation Technique and resources.

A wave of shyness welled up in her heart, and she ran away with a blushing face. Aside from her father, this was the first time a boy had been so intimate with her.

Han Ming was also stunned as he watched Li Xuewei run away blushing, but upon thinking about his actions just now, he understood.

"Forget it, let them misunderstand! At least my goal has been achieved." Han Ming rubbed his nose helplessly.

"Whoa! Did you see that? Han Ming just gave Li Xuewei a head pat; it looks like he really likes her."

"Yeah, looking at how shy Li Xuewei was, it's probably a done deal."

"Heh... Han Ming spent three years fawning over Su Wanning; this is going to be a good show."

"Pfft, Su Wanning didn't look at Han Ming, so isn't it normal for him to pursue Li Xuewei now?"

"Exactly. Li Xuewei is really lucky. Han Ming is a Genius now, and he's also the Young Master of the third-rate Han Family. Li Xuewei is about to fly up to the branches and become a Phoenix."

Quite a few passing students saw this scene and began to discuss it curiously. Han Ming was now a major figure in the school, the center of attention wherever he went.

Soon, the news that Han Ming was no longer fawning over Su Wanning and was instead pursuing Li Xuewei spread throughout the school.

"Did you hear? Han Ming has changed targets again and started pursuing Li Xuewei from Class 6. I heard from a friend in Class 6 that Han Ming even gave the 'Wind Shadow Step' he was Cultivating to Li Xuewei!"

"Really? That's a Yellow Rank High Grade Martial Skill! It's worth at least tens of millions. How could Han Ming be willing to part with it?"

"It's absolutely true. A friend of mine saw it with his own eyes. Han Ming even gave Li Xuewei a head pat on the spot. That move, tsk tsk tsk..."

"Does Su Wanning know? What was her reaction? Han Ming was her devoted follower!"

"I don't know. But I wonder if she'll regret it when she finds out? That's a Yellow Rank High Grade Martial Skill!"

The discussions spread from the playground to the teaching building, and from the teaching building to the cafeteria. In just half an hour, the whole school knew about this matter.

In the Class 3 classroom, Su Wanning sat in the front row holding a book, but she couldn't read a single word. She had also heard the gossip in the school. Her fingers, gripping the page, turned slightly white.

She told herself that this had nothing to do with her. She had never liked Han Ming and even found it annoying that he constantly pestered her. Now that he wasn't pestering her anymore, she should be happy. But why did she feel a sense of emptiness in her heart?

In the Class 6 classroom, Li Xuewei lay on her desk with her face buried in her arms, her ears red enough to drip blood. She hadn't expected things to turn out like this. Should she tell everyone that Han Ming didn't like her? That he just thought highly of her and took her as a disciple? If she said that, not only would others not believe her, even she didn't believe it herself.

"Xuewei, Xuewei, tell me quickly, is Young Master Han really pursuing you?" Her desk mate, Lin Lin, leaned over with a gossipy expression. She was curious and also carried a hint of envy.

"Don't talk nonsense. Han Ming... Han Ming just thinks I have potential and wants to help me out." Li Xuewei blushed and slapped away her best friend's mischievous hand, explaining.

"Help you out? By gifting a Yellow Rank High Grade Martial Skill plus twenty blood qi pills? That's worth tens of millions! Who 'helps someone out' like that?" Lin Lin rolled her eyes at Li Xuewei, looking completely unconvinced.

"Exactly, exactly! If Han Ming helped me like that, I'd offer myself to him immediately!" A female classmate in the front row turned around and teased upon hearing this.

"Give it a rest. Would Han Ming take a liking to you? Li Xuewei is pretty, do you have that?" Suddenly, several girls burst into laughter.

In the Class 3 classroom. As soon as Han Ming sat down, Wang Chong leaned over with a wicked grin. "Young Master Han, you're something! You've already taken down Li Xuewei from Class 6 so quickly."

Han Ming glanced at him: "What kind of nonsense is that?"

"Still pretending!" Wang Chong winked and gestured. "The whole school is talking about it, saying you gave Li Xuewei a Yellow Rank High Grade Martial Skill. Tsk, tsk, tsk, Young Master Han, you're so generous. Giving away things worth tens of millions just like that."

Han Ming's mouth twitched. He hadn't expected the news to spread so quickly, and even less expected it to be twisted like this.

"Alright, get lost! It's not what you think." Han Ming didn't offer much explanation and simply shooed Wang Chong away. As long as it didn't affect Li Xuewei's Cultivation, he didn't really care.

In the evening, when he returned home, Han Ming's mother, Jiang Xuerou, came to greet him with a smile: "Xiao Ming, I heard you took a liking to a girl at school? How is she? When will you bring her home for Mom to see?"

"Mom, that's not true. It's just some nosy classmates spreading rumors." Han Ming felt helpless, not expecting even his mother at home to know about it. But that was normal; there were definitely eyes and ears for the Han Family at the school. Since he had gifted a Yellow Rank High Grade Martial Skill, they would certainly report it to the Family.

"Are you still hiding things from your mom? I heard you gave that girl a Yellow Rank High Grade Martial Skill and twenty blood qi pills. Such a grand gesture, and you're still saying you don't like her?" Jiang Xuerou grabbed Han Ming's arm, her eyes shining with something called gossip.

"Alright Mom, let's talk about this later. I'm going back to Cultivate first." Han Ming was too lazy to explain; he couldn't exactly say he had a System and needed to take on disciples to bind them, right? After saying that, he didn't even eat dinner and went straight back to his room.
