6: Chapter 6 Su Wanning's Questioning
Lin Fan walked briskly on the road back to school, carrying five bottles of blood qi pill.
With this batch of Medicinal Pill, he would soon be able to achieve a Breakthrough to a 2-star Martial Apprentice, or even a 3-star Martial Apprentice. Once his younger sister achieved her Awakening, he would be able to provide her with better resources.
Thinking of Lin Xiaoyu's face, which always carried a hint of paleness, a warmth welled up in Lin Fan's heart.
Over the years, the siblings had relied on each other to survive. Although life was hard, his sister never complained and always saved the best for him. Now, he finally had the chance to change all of that.
Lin Fan touched the Medicinal Pill in his pocket and a smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.
Just then, hurried footsteps suddenly came from behind him.
Before Lin Fan could turn around, a sharp pain struck the back of his head.
"Bang!"
His vision went black, and Lin Fan collapsed forward, falling heavily to the ground.
The five bottles of blood qi pill rolled out of his pocket, shimmering with a greenish-white luster in the sunlight.
Li Wanpeng stood behind Lin Fan, clutching a wooden stick he had picked up from the roadside, panting heavily.
He looked down at Lin Fan lying on the ground, then at the bottles of blood qi pill on the floor, his eyes filled with greed.
"Five bottles of rank 2 blood vitality pill... Damn, this kid is really generous, but now it's all mine!"
Li Wanpeng squatted down and reached out to stuff all five bottles of Medicinal Pill into his own pocket.
He looked at Lin Fan's pants pocket, felt around, and pulled out a bank card.
"What's the password?" Li Wanpeng kicked Lin Fan, but there was no response.
He frowned and put the bank card away as well. Anyway, even if Lin Fan woke up, he wouldn't know who did it, so he could just try the password slowly.
"One million... With this money, I, Li Wanpeng, can finally take off!"
Li Wanpeng stood up and took another look at Lin Fan lying on the ground. He hesitated for a moment but ultimately didn't dare to kill him.
He dared to rob money, but murder... If the City Guard or the Martial Arts Alliance found out, it would be trouble.
Anyway, Lin Fan wouldn't know who did it.
He turned and ran, quickly disappearing at the end of the alley.
The alley returned to silence.
Lin Fan lay on the cold concrete ground, the blood seeping from the back of his head flowing slowly, staining the ground beneath him red.
It was unknown how much time had passed when footsteps were heard at the entrance of the alley.
"Huh? Is there someone lying over there?"
Two girls wearing the No. 3 High School uniform stopped. One of the girls with a ponytail had sharp eyes and spotted the curled-up figure in the alley immediately.
"It looks like someone from our school... Lin Fan?" The other girl with short hair squinted to take a closer look.
"Let's go see!"
The two girls trotted over. As soon as they reached the entrance of the alley, they saw Lin Fan lying in a pool of blood, blood still seeping from the back of his head, his face deathly pale.
"Ah!" The short-haired girl shrieked in fright and backed away repeatedly.
The ponytail girl was also panicked, but she quickly calmed down: "Don't panic, I'll go call for help! You stay here and keep watch!"
She turned and ran. Having barely run ten meters, she saw a familiar figure walking this way.
"Su Wanning! Su Wanning!"
Su Wanning had just finished shopping and was preparing to return to school. Hearing the shout, she looked up and saw the girl with the ponytail from her class.
"What's wrong? Why are you so panicked?"
"Lin Fan... Lin Fan was knocked out! In that alley over there!"
Su Wanning's expression changed, and she quickly followed the ponytail girl toward the alley.
Reaching the entrance of the alley, she saw Lin Fan lying on the ground at a glance.
The wound on the back of his head was still bleeding, his face was deathly pale without a trace of blood, and a small pool of blood had already formed beneath him.
Su Wanning squatted down and reached out to check Lin Fan's breathing.
He was still breathing.
She breathed a sigh of relief and quickly took out a healing Medicinal Pill from her person to feed Lin Fan.
"Let's go, help me take him to the school Infirmary to get bandaged."
Looking at the bleeding gash on Lin Fan's head, Su Wanning called out to the two female classmates.
The three girls worked together to lift Lin Fan up. Su Wanning supported his left arm, the ponytail girl supported his right, and the short-haired girl supported his back from behind.
Although Lin Fan was not light, the female students all had the strength of a Martial Apprentice, and Su Wanning was even a 3-star Martial Apprentice, so it was quite easy.
They attracted many sidelong glances from passersby along the way, but the three girls couldn't care about that and hurried toward the school.
Twenty minutes later, the three of them finally delivered Lin Fan to the school Infirmary.
The school doctor was a middle-aged woman in her forties, surnamed Zhang. Seeing Lin Fan's injuries, she was startled: "What happened here? How did he get injured like this?"
"We found him in the alley; he was knocked out by someone," Su Wanning explained simply.
School Doctor Zhang quickly had the three of them put Lin Fan on the hospital bed and began examining the wound.
"There are traces of a blunt object strike on the back of his head. The bleeding is significant, but fortunately, he was brought here in time," School Doctor Zhang said while cleaning the wound. "I'll bandage him first; you all should go notify his family or his homeroom teacher."
Su Wanning nodded and was about to speak when the ponytail girl suddenly said: "Sister Wanning, who do you think did this? Lin Fan is usually so honest, who could he have offended?"
The short-haired girl curled her lips: "Who else could it be? It must be that playboy Han Ming! He hasn't just been bullying Lin Fan for a day or two. I even saw him call Lin Fan out this morning!"
"Yes, yes, yes!" the ponytail girl echoed, "I saw it too! Han Ming must be unhappy because you, Su Wanning, were talking to Lin Fan, so he got someone to beat Lin Fan to vent his anger!"
"That's right, who in our school doesn't know that Han Ming likes our school beauty, Su? He must be jealous."
Upon hearing this, Su Wanning's expression immediately darkened.
She recalled that Han Ming had indeed looked for Lin Fan this morning, and the two had stayed in the stairwell for quite a while before coming out. She had thought it strange at the time, but now that she thought about it, Han Ming must have been threatening Lin Fan!
Furthermore, Han Ming had a record. In these three years, had there been few times he had caused trouble for Lin Fan?
This time, Lin Fan was beaten so severely, his head cracked open—besides Han Ming, who else could it be?
"You all watch him here, I'm going to find him!" Su Wanning turned and left, her face full of anger.
"Sister Wanning, we'll go with you!" The two girls hurriedly followed.
School Doctor Zhang opened her mouth to stop them, but the three girls had already rushed out of the Infirmary in a flurry.
...
Class 3 of Grade 12 classroom.
Han Ming was dozing off on his desk to catch up on sleep.
He stayed up late reading novels last night, and today he had Transmigration and Binding, which wore him out so much he hadn't slept well at all. Right now, sleepiness was rising, his eyelids were fighting, so he decided to just lie down and nap for a while.
"Han Ming!"
A female voice filled with anger suddenly exploded in his ear.
Han Ming sat up with a start, almost falling off his chair.
He opened his eyes groggily and saw Su Wanning standing in front of him, followed by two other girls. All three pairs of eyes were staring at him intensely, their gazes filled with obvious anger and disdain.
"What's wrong?" Han Ming rubbed his eyes, looking bewildered.
"You still have the nerve to ask what's wrong?" Su Wanning sneered, "Lin Fan was knocked out, his head cracked open, and he's lying in the Infirmary right now! Do you dare say it wasn't you?"
Han Ming's head buzzed, and he instantly sobered up.
"Lin Fan was knocked out? Where? Take me to see him!"
Han Ming stood up abruptly and said with a worried expression.
This was his long-term meal ticket; there couldn't be any accidents.
Su Wanning was stunned for a moment, a bit confused by Han Ming's reaction.
She had expected Han Ming to deny it, or arrogantly say "So what if I hit him?" like before, but Han Ming's anxious appearance... did he really not know?
No, he must be faking it!
"Stop playing dumb!" The ponytail girl pointed at Han Ming, "You called Lin Fan out this morning, and he was beaten in the afternoon. If it wasn't you, then who could it be?"
Han Ming's mouth twitched.
What kind of mess is this?
He had finally managed to bind with Lin Fan and planned to take the peaceful coexistence route, but it turned out Lin Fan still got knocked out?
And looking at this, everyone suspected that he did it?
